These last few days in fandom have made me realize that my experience of having consumed every Misha Collins related piece of content available on the internet is NOT universal. I've always considered myself a non-crazy fan but I've begun to question that, seriously, I have an encyclopedic knowledge of everything the guy has chosen to make public.

Just from the top of my head:

he was a white house intern and stole white house passes to make a mobile,

decided not to go into politics after all and instead get famous in order to enact change (something he says in retrospect was stupid even though it worked out)

he's an NPR geek,

he makes jam and cans a lot of things,

can knit,

once played the role of a well-endowed yoga instructor addicted to self-fellatio,

his dream is to build an art commune out in the country,

he has infiltrated an Indian sex cult to try and expose its anti-native policies,

accidentally dropped acid at Burning Man and hated it so he had his dad sing to him all night,

doesn't smoke weed because he reacts funny to it,

prefers his salads dressingless,

used to pretend to be a russian exchange student to get free pizza,

went to his highschool prom dressed in drag,

was disappointed as a child to find out not every kid grew up to be a woman,

fashioned his wife a bed out of a tree that fell in his mother's yard using the makeshift woodshop in his college dormroom,

has built several large structures because he's a highly skilled carpenter,

holds several guiness world records,

used bolt cutters to sneak around underground alleys at uchicago as shortcuts,

there are several bigfoot-esque pictures circulating of him naked in the distance,

he's polyamorous,

has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity,

his given name is Dmitri Tippens Krushnic,

he rescued a turtle and named it Dryaluxaloud (a name that came to him in a dream) and keeps it in his backyard pond,

he was arrested for bank robbery after climbing on top of a bank building for better reading light,

does massive art installations,

was homeless as a child,

runs marathons,

organizes GISH which is a thing I cannot begin to explain,

starred in a bad scifi move titled "Stonehenge Apocalypse,"

also does blacksmithing and pottery,

wears orange underwear most of the time because he thinks it's lucky,

participated in a retreat at a Tibetan monastery,

renewed his vows with his wife in a supermarket while wearing a lace wedding gown,

lost a $1,800+ bet to Jared Padalecki and payed him back in coins he dumped in his trailer,

is a published poet and wishes to someday publish a book of poetry,

has screenplays he's written and wants to make into films,

had a job delivering newspapers when he was a kid but lost his job in the sping because his manager discovered he'd just been stowing papers in snowdrifts and going home,

built his wife a house,

can draw,

is incredibly accident-prone,

is a certified EMT, lifeguard and motorcyclist,

illegally sunk a tree killed in a forest fire into cement in an expensive highway island in Hollywood and mounted a plaque on it with an obscene inscription,

was the most flexible boy at his highschool in its 100 year history

And I'm forgetting a lot rn but basically he's fucking insane and we love him

i was debating on whether or not i should post this on tumblr but seeing as there haven’t been posts about this yet, here it is. i’m exposing my real location and nationality but it doesn’t matter.

if you have been active on twitter, you may already know #savemyanmar is trending. long story short, there has been a military coup. several nations have released statements but i want to share insight on what’s happening in the country.

memes about a coup have been circulating around for a couple days and when i slept at 2 am last night, we were still under the rule of the National League for Democracy (NLD). while they are not technically democratic, they are the closest we’ve got. when my mother woke up at 6 this morning, she was notified that the country was now under the rule of the military.

banks services are no longer available. wifi was cut at around 7-8. some people got wifi again earlier but many got it barely thirty minutes ago. this is bad for businesses especially ones that require international communications. additionally, international students like myself are experiencing anxiety; how do we pay for and attend classes if we’re not sure wifi is a given?

myanmar has a long, complicated history with military governments. the last time the military went into rule was in 1962 and only stopped in 2011, following the 2010 elections. there was a huge protest in 1988 lead by students that resulted in lots of death. during the military junta, resources like rice, water, oil, were scarce. the gist is military rule is bad for us.

all of my followers are not myanmar citizens, i’m sure but as part of the international community, please help us. here is a petition that you can sign (although i’m not sure if that can do much). there may be protests in front of myanmar embassies so look out for those. most of all, please help spread awareness. 

the people here are coping with dark humor, primarily in the form of memes but we don’t know how long this rule will last, even though the official statement said only a year. here’s something that pretty much sums up our coping mechanism:

These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.

Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like...some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.
