Noticing the way you suck on your drink a little extra when she praises you…

“Thirsty, sweetheart?”

“Good girl, staying so hydrated.”

“That’s it baby, lay back against mommy now.”

Or the way your thumb rests on your lips as you lie against her chest, before she replaces it with her own finger…

“Here, sweetheart. Let mommy rest her hand here.”

“No need to move your head, darling, mommy likes feeling your warm little breaths.”

Gently brushing her thumb over your lips, taking advantage of your innocent instincts before you even realize you’ve begun to gently suckle on it…

“Don’t stop baby, use me to relax.”

“Just like that, you’re okay.”

She smiles gently when you mindlessly paw at her chest…

“Oh? Does my baby want something else in her sweet little mouth?”

“Don’t be shy, baby. Use your words for mommy.”

“Awe, are you feeling that little?”

“It’s alright, mommy’ll ask you about it later.”

“Just suck on mommy’s thumb for now.”

“Such a good girl.”

Sometimes, the temptation to turn you into a babbling idiot that fails to speak is so great I have to resist it.

But then again ......... you look so pretty
