How do people do the model swap to Johnny now for screenshots?? Like I use Appearance Mod Menu, but there is no model swap option to Johnny?? Am I missing something?? What did I miss???

Am I crazy for making Johnny Silverhand’s Natal Chart? Yes, yes I am.

Does it completely work though? Yes, it does.

Now I have some idea on what to base my writings if I ever do write my damn story.

Apparently in lore; Johnny use to buy old warehouses and convert them into lofts (though some still didnt have like electric and stuff) and rent them out dirt cheap to artists to have a roof over their head, a place to hang out together, and room to play. It was called Silverhand Studios.

Had that idea too when pondering the meaning of the name "Soulkiller". It made more sense to me that way, punishing by killing someone slowly, implanting someone else into their head than simply putting them into code, basically keeping them alive forever 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

AU Where it's 2023 after the nuke of the Arasaka Tower and Johnny being captured; he is instead forced to receive a relic where a terrifying mercenary(V) "consciousness" is stocked in; and then he is left almost dying in the streets, and is thankfully saved by Kerry.

And now he have to find something, anything, to save his ass before the well-known merc take his body and eat his brain.

That, my friend, is why modding is such a HUGE part of gaming, because omg my heart just stopped from a FUCKING CAMERA ANGLE CHANGE!!!!! I would guess it comes from the 3rd person camera mod, but fuck me... damn...

Ahhh thank you so much! <3 I'm really glad you like it! I enjoy drawing Johnny,  especially his eyes. But my biggest problem is with his hair, I still don't fully understand how it should look haha. In fact, this message was my excuse for a quick doodle of him xD 

Hi, I just wanted to add that you have two shards ports behind your right ear, so technically that explains why you can still use shards while in game, even with Johnny’s Relic. You simply use another one.

So technically you could probably use the two ports to do the switch, like once V’s Relic is done and stable, you could remove Johnny’s.

However, just wanna remind that Alt was constantly battling off NetWatch when she was taking control of Arasaka’s building, so take that as you will :) Maybe she can split her attention to also make another Relic, maybe not and that would be why that option was not one, who knows!

not to beat a dead horse about the ending but if the issue is that the relic is too damaged to repair v: you literally have blueprints of the relic. alt has control of the manufacturing floor of the arasaka building. and you’re putting data shards in your neural port throughout the game, so clearly the port is not that damaged.

like you make a huge deal of getting these blueprints and then they never?? really?? come up again.

just make a new relic, put v on it, put the relic with v into v, let it repair v’s brain with v’s engram.

like alt? alt. alt you literally created the soulkiller why did you not think of this.

bonus round: all the disparate parts of a human being have been synthesized at this point. why can’t they put Johnny on a new relic (again, you literally do have the means to make a new one), and store him in a closet or some shit until you can hire a ripperdoc to make him a new body? viktor literally says you can do that in the start of the game.

Oh, in my opinion I’m almost sure it could happen! Wasn’t there one of Mike Pondsmith’s radio cameo talking about that sort of thing?? Like there was a corporation, can’t remember which one though, that was already able to restore a body or something like that.

Though I do wonder mostly why they, Arasaka (since the prototype was supposed to say in-house from what says Hellman), would have Johnny’s construct on the prototype chip. From this, I agree with lots of fic writers that Johnny’s body is not even in the oil fields, but was kept in cryochambers hidden away from public eye.

so far as other bands go, ima have to give that one more thought, but one real-world artist i could imagine samurai playing with would have to be lindsey stirling, the violinist. even though she does mainly dubstep, she still rocks HARD (rock with an electric violin would be AWESOME ngl) and her whole vibe would fit right into the Cyberpunk universe <3

But jokes asides, damn, Anony, you gave me a really good question! I struggle a lot with this question for two reasons, first because my musical is very limited (I was raised by two hippies so I grew with prog more than anything, lol) and second because, honestly, who could put up with Johnny’s attitude other than Kerry and his bandmates? xD

Still, if there was some possibilities, I can see somehow Samurai doing the opening of Pearl Jam (one of my fav group of all time). I can see resemblances between punk rock and grunge and Pearl Jam was somehow pretty wild during their 90s concerts, so I could see Samurai having the same vibes. Otherwise, I considered other groups I know like System of a Down, Rishloo or Rammstein joining forces with Samurai, but I dunno if they would technically fit for an opening, as they are not punk rock(?). I think as long as the group carries similar values of anti-establishment, Samurai/Johnny would probably agree on doing the opening.

But hey, thanks for mentioning that group, I did not know it and having new groups to my repertoire is always a pleasure! Do you have any song recommendation for that group? Would love to have a taste of it!

What is you guys’ theory that Johnny doesn’t have piercings?

For someone who is supposedly very “punk”, Johnny doesn’t have much piercings... 

Do you think he’s scared of needles, hence why he goes for jewelry like necklaces and rings? 

Or maybe he does have piercings... just hidden under his shirt on in his pants...

On another side, I always felt that the main singer of Samurai/Refused was so far from Keanu's voice, I always had a hard time being immersed when the songs came out. The music is amazing, but damn if they don't match

idk if it’s just me but the lead screamer in most of the samurai songs sounds WAY more like kerry than it does johnny… there’s a couple of songs like “never fade away” and “a like supreme” where you can hear a second singer underneath the main one that sounds much more believably johnny, and i’d be willing to believe that johnny is the main singer in ‘black dog’ too, bc that sounds a lot like him, but the screaming lyrics that are in most of the choruses?

i think despite all the promo material that shows johnny at the front of the stage… that man does not scream the lyrics, that’s all kerry. that’s why kerry’s voice sounds like that in current day and johnny’s voice is still like low and smooth when he dies. he doesn’t scream the lyrics, he growls ‘em. when the song is just singing, that’s johnny, but kerry has that perfect rasp that just… 🙌

also: hc that if v ever brings this up to johnny he gets VERY defensive. he never managed to nail down the screaming thing like kerry did and they argued about it every day.
