As Natasha walks up to the house her eyes scanned the area for anything out of ordinary. The loud rush of the waterfall only filled her ears as she saw the water tumbling down at the side of the cliff.

Taking a deep breath she raises her arm knocking on the hard dark mahogany door.

Nothing.

What if Donna didn’t hear her? Or the rare possibility she wasn’t home? Shit now what could she do? There was still two other options, one being Heisenberg and Moreau but her daughters could still be out there waiting.

Just as she was about to try again the door creaks open before Angie pokes her head out, staring up at the darkskin woman with wide eyes.

“Angel face? What are you doing here?” The doll ask in a high pitch tone. Her eyes then landed on the suitcase. “Holy shit.” She adds mouth agape.

“Hey Ang, uh I was wondering if I could possibly crash here for the night? Sorry this is all unexpected, things kinda just..happened.” Natasha says rubbing the back of her head.

“Stay here? Of course you can! I’m sure Donna would absolutely love-“ the doll was cut off as a cough could be heard from behind the doll. Looking up Natasha could make out Donna. She was wearing dark blue satin pjs, her black mourning mask covering her face.

Without a word Donna beckons the other woman in with her hand before moving away from the door. Making sure to wipe the bottom of her shoes with the mat she enters the warm house looking around. Natasha has been at Donna’s house a handful of times. She would sometimes fix a few things around the house for her. The woman never spoke, letting Angie do all the talking. It took a minute to get used to all the dolls around the place, including some following her around like a curious puppy.

Natasha was always curious about the third lord and how mysterious she was. She never spoke, but used her body language. Sometimes she would tilt her head to the side in question when you asked a question she didn’t get. Or place a hand to her chest or where she presume her mouth was when she was surprised about something. Natasha would study her to understand her way of “talking”.

“Is she deaf?” She once asked Alcina when the topic came up.

“No, she can talk, she just chooses not to.” Alcina had responded.

It only made the thief more curious about her. But she never tried to pry into her business. Maybe one day she’ll know the truth.

Following Donna and Angie they enter the kitchen. The soft whistle of the kettle on the stove drew her eyes towards it. How did she do that so fast? Maybe she caught her in the midst of her making an evening tea?

“Come sit angel face!” Angie said as she hops on the table. Setting her suitcase down Natasha pulls the chair back sitting down in one of the wooden chairs. Her eyes cut to Donna as she pulled two cups pouring tea into them.

“So why was you out there so late at night? There’s monsters out there you know!” Angie asked wagging her finger, “Plus I wouldn’t think the big boob lady would let you go out there by yourself. She always seem so overprotective.” She scoffs folding her arms as she pouted. Natasha chuckles as Donna sets a cup down near her before sitting down across from Natasha.

“Thank you.” Natasha says politely picking up her cup blowing on it gently before taking a sip. “I was trying to leave the village so I could make it to my morning plane back to my hometown.” She says looking between Donna and Angie.

“This late?” Angie asked tilting her head suspiciously.

“Well uh, to put it lightly Angie, I caught Alcina cheating on me.” She says as her lips tremble and tears threaten to fall from her eyes. Blinking them back she takes a shaky breath before telling her story on how she caught Alcina in bed with another woman, one of the new maids that had started working there.

The pair goes silent as they listen to Natasha. When she finally finished the woman had her face in her hands crying. Walking over to her Angie started rubbing her back.

“Don’t waste your tears on that sorry excuse of a woman, doll face! She made a huge mistake. Why anyone would be lucky to have you as a wife. You always been kind and decent to everyone, even us!” Angie said. Donna remains silent but nods her head in agreement. “Feel free to stay as long as you need!”

“Thanks you two.” Natasha says bleakly as she wiped at her eyes hurriedly forcing a smile on her lips. “I just need to stay for the night. I’ll be heading out to try to go to the nearest city’s airport.”

“When are you coming back?” Angie asks bouncing up and down like a child.

“Probably not until years. I’ll be leaving for good. I’ll probably stay with my mom or brother until I find my own place to stay.”

Immediately Angie’s face drops as her shoulders go slack. Donna seem to have freeze up as well. The tea cup trembling slightly. “You’re leaving for good? You’re not coming back ever?” Angie asked softly.

“I’ll visit of course! But I won’t be staying here, I can’t Angie.” Natasha says reaching out to the doll to pat her head. “There’s no way I can remain here, too many bad memories. And..” she goes silent.

“And what? What is it angel?” The doll presses.

“I’m pregnant.” Natasha voice came out in a hush.

A crash follows suit as the tea cup Donna was holding hits the ground. Angie’s mouth dropped so low it was almost comical to look at her.

For a moment no one spoke. Finally Donna slowly turns to Natasha.

“You’re carrying Alcina’s child and she decided to be unfaithful to you?” She says softly, her voice raspy and rough, it sounded like she barely used her voice causing it sound so gruff. However her voice was soothing, like a warm crackling fire in a fireplace.

Getting over her shock Natasha answers the dark cloaked woman. “She doesn’t know yet, it was supposed to be a surprise.” She lowers her head. She wanted to surprise the countess with the pregnancy test at a special dinner with the whole family. Now she was scared to say anything to her. If the countess found out she was expecting she surely would force her back at the castle.

Angie looks back at Donna and it seem the two was having a silent conversation through whatever connection they had. Finally the doll turns back to the darkskin woman looking into blue and brown eyes.

“Why don’t you stay with us, permanently? We know you want to get out of here and that’s understandable but,” Angie leans forward. “We can take take care of you. No matter how powerful Alcina is there’s a strong rule between the lords, they can’t just go waltzing into the other’s territory without permission. It’s Mother Miranda’s law. Even if she does find out you’re here there’s nothing she can do so long as you are under Beneviento property. And we can have it where you could be our mechanic fixing stuff around the house. You’ll be safe here, you and your child.”

Natasha was left in shock as she looked between Donna and Angie. “You’re both so very kind to offer but, why?” She asks.

“Like I said angel face, you’re one of the nicest people here. You was never afraid of us and always visit. It’s been a while since we ever had visitors, let alone someone who resides in the castle. Donna and I will miss you dearly if you left. You may not also know but you really gain quite an audience between the rest of the lords. I’m sure stink face and fish breath would be quite displeased to find you gone because of the tall witch’s antics. A pretty nasty fight could break out and the last thing Mother Miranda needs is a fight between her children.” The doll finished giggling childishly. “Although it would be very entertaining!”

Staying silent Natasha drummed it over. She knew Moreau had took a liking to her since she was the only one who goes over to the reservoir to watch tv or help him around the place. Karl and her enjoyed hanging out together. He shared his plots to end Miranda’s rule over the village, and she did promise to help him….

“I didn’t know I played such an important role here.” She states.

“More than you know. With you gone things could go downhill, it’s bad enough we’ll have to witness the tall witch’s tantrum.” Angie snorts out.

“And you sure I wouldn’t be intruding?” She asks.

“No,” Donna answers this time placing a cool hand over Natasha’s white and brown hand, “Stay with us mi cara and you will be well taken of.”

So many thoughts ran through Natasha’s head. She still had so many questions that she wanted answers to. But she also felt a sense of safety here. What else could she lose from here on out? Relaxing her shoulders she smiles at them.

“Yes.”
