It's 2008 in my brain
I did a style study of some of my favorite pieces of Vocaloid fanart from my childhood
YOU!! YES, YOU!! GO WRITE THAT FANFIC YOU THINK NOBODY BUT YOU WILL READ!!

i must not kill myself . killing myself is the myself killer
another nightmare
unless they specifically asked, you don’t get to tell a fanfic writer you think they mischaracterized the character by the way. because the second someone writes a fanfic about a character, that character becomes the writer’s own version of the character. canon is only a suggestion, but whether or not an author will follow it / how much of canon an author will take is entirely up to them. you don’t get to stick your nose in their world and tell them “hey this is not to my liking therefore I think you’re doing it wrong” when you can simply leave quietly and move on to something else you may enjoy
hell yeah
most of my headcanons are dependent on ‘whatever i feel like’ so this is my baseline for everything nd i think it should be basic fandom etiquette 😭
I think it's okay to headcanon a character as any gender or sexuality. Unless you headcanon, for example, an implied Transfem character as transmasc or other way around- headcanon an implied transmasc character as Transfem
It won't make you a supportive trans ally. It will make you a transphobe because you invalidate other trans people (transfem or transmasc).
If the character doesn't have anything implied about their gender, then sure, you can headcanon them as transfem or transmasc. Agender or Non-binary. Cis or not, the choice is yours. Flip the coin if you like and choose the gender headcanon you like on them.
The only thing is, you still have to refer to a character as their canon pronouns (the way other characters refer to the character. As an example: character in bungo stray dogs referring to dazai as he/him and not she/her or they/them) when it comes to posts that are not related to the gender headcanon you like on character.
As an example: a post with cis mafuyu. The poster refers to Mafuyu as she/her or headcanons Mafuyu as cis woman. Referring to Mafuyu as he/him or they/them because that's your headcanon will cause confusion among people. "Why is this person referring to Mafuyu as he/him when Mafuyu is canon she/her (or cis woman)?" type of confusion.
Same basic thing goes to characters with implied sexuality. Don't headcanon an implied bi character as gay or lesbian (just because you don't like that the bi female character, as an example, also likes men and not women only) as it makes you biphobic.
Just don't be an ass.
Anyway, my point is, don't let other people stop you from headcanoning your favourite male character as transfem or your favourite female character as transmasc (or any other gender for that matter). As long as the character doesn't have an implied gender that is (in some way) important to their character (Like Mizuki from project sekai).
Have fun to your heart and don't let people stop you.
yknow im slightly surprised people don't have more thoughts about sekais from a system lens. maybe bc the entire unit made/has access to it so it feels less ""personal"" or wtv subconscious reason but like. pov you just went through a traumatizing experience and have no idea where to go from here and then one day a fictive of your idol shows up like Hiii come to our manifestation of your own hopes and dreams and maybe i can make you feel a lil better :)" and it works and now you just know your very own personal hatsune miku you can talk to and hang out with whenever.
and the sekai starts out simple with just miku and one or two other people but as your life goes on and you progress with your dreams and stepping stones get in your way the sekai grows and more people climb out of the woodwork from nowhere introduce themselves and help wherever they can
idk it feels like something can be made with this
this is when you reread everything a week after because you're taking advantage of your bad memory
but that is when you realize that 3 works have been deleted and 2 of them are the ones that you really liked
