my roman empire is james and regulus being a couple for years as teenagers.
both men being teased for remaining chronically single.
james asking sirius about regulus, and being shut down with an "i dont want to talk about him,"
regulus staring at him during meal-times. his friends assumed he was looking at sirius.
james asking lily out, in seventh year, and everybody breathing a sigh of relief: "thank merlin, hes not queer"
regulus stiffening when "wouldn't it be nice" started playing.
james blatantly refusing to have his and lily's first dance to "can't help falling in love" for a reason nobody could quite understand.
regulus still smelling james in amortentia, even years afterwards.
james knowing something is wrong, in his gut. nobody believes him when he says that something terrible has happened.
no-one understanding, or wanting to understand, why james potter was so affected by his best friend's little brother dying.
james telling lily to run, but not moving. he wasn't scared; he'd see regulus again soon.

I know that because the story takes place after wwx comes back jiang cheng's whole "i don't believe wei wuxian is actually dead i'm gonna keep obsessively looking for him" shtick got retroactively legitimized, but it is pretty important to remember that wei wuxian was in fact super dead the entire time and if it hadn't been for a depressed 20-something doing a suicide ritual, influenced to an unknown degree by a revenge plot that wasn't in play yet at the time of wwx's death, he would never have come back at all. And jiang cheng would've kept going "No! He's still out there I know it" for eternity with absolutely no proof or results.

It makes me laugh when people write that Sirius would have a fit having to share James with Regulus when they start dating. Because??? No??? Sirius grew up sharing everything with Reggie. Thatโs his baby (brother). He shared food when their parents wouldnโt give enough and pain when their parents gave too much. They shared survival instincts and love and happiness in a place where it originally didnโt exist. Sirius is used to sharing with Regulus. Thatโs the boy he raised, his brother. Sharing James with Regulus is the easiest thing Sirius has ever done.
James, though? He struggles. He hates it when the brothers do anything that leaves him out of it. He selfishly wants to keep both of them to himself. He grew up an only child until Sirius became his brother officially in fourth/fifth year. He wants to keep Sirius to himself as his brother. He wants to keep Regulus to himself as his boyfriend. Whenever they have an inside joke, or a look of understanding, or a moment where it looks like they love each other in a way James would never be loved by either of them he goes absolutely mental in a spiral of jealousy and selfishness.

An au. Where Harry is the local sheriff, and Draco is a wanted criminal, whoโs currently on the loose. Harryโs job is to capture him but surprise surprise it was his own heart that was captured. (Feel free to write about this if you want (this is me pleading for someone to write this)). This is like pt 1 of the illustration. I try to draw the part 2 maybe.

๐๏ธ every year in my lifetime, I've seen an ugly blue british flag printed on single use cups and ugly tshirts on January 26th, celebrating stolen land, stolen language and stolen children. this year in particular, I feel the need to make my politics clear through art, as the horrors of colonialism and genocide are mirrored internationally in Palestine. I want to be clear, you do not get to enjoy my art without knowing clearly what my politics are, and you do not get to ignore my politics as an inherent part of my art. no one is free until everyone is free ๐ค๐โค๏ธ๐ต๐ธ
