F.E. Yates in his custom motorcycle, ca. 1900s.
Over 2,000 motorcycles from different parts of Illinois and Indiana met in Chicago for a jubilee. Every kind of a cycle was there from scooters and motor wheels, to side-cars. The motorcycle police led the way for the tourists to see Chicago.
Captain F.E. Yates, of Chicago, and his especially constructed motorcycle of own design. Being unable to saddle the cycle, Captain Yates has invented a collapsible extension handle bar which lets him control the cycle from the side car.
berserk and guts hold such a special place in my heart bc at its core, berserk is a story about a deeply traumatized man trying to move forward with his life. slowly, he finds himself able to love and trust those around him and to be optimistic again after being so deeply hurt by someone he trusted. as a person who lives with trauma, this series was so beloved by me and i’ve lost count of how many times i’ve reread the manga and watched the movies.
hearing of miura’s passing is so heartbreaking because of how much dedication and devotion to his fans that was put into every panel, every chapter, every character. miura literally worked himself to death.
his work influenced countless people, and regardless if you’ve read berserk or not, i guarantee there is some media you cherish that has been influenced or inspired by his work.
rest easy, struggler.
i’ve just come across one of my favourite videos on the internet
“I finally caught him. He gets up at midnight and crawls into bed with me."
