ok I got into an argument with someone in my media class yesterday so I’m just gonna say it:

No video game should cost $70.

I’m sure the new Zelda game will be great, but no video game should cost $70. “But if you adjust for inflation, this is actually less than what the Wii games were,” cool. No video game should cost $70.

We no longer live in a world where a kid could save up their allowance for a couple months and then be able to buy a video game. Just buying one has somehow turned into such a grandiose adventure it takes all of the fun out of getting a new game.

The only possible benefit might be that, with games being so expensive, people might be more likely to pick up an indie game because those companies can’t afford to sell those games for a lot.

This is becoming normal. I used to be able to buy four ds games for $70. What the hell.

And you know damn well that Nintendo can afford it.

★ CTHALIA FANART CONTEST ★

Welcome to the official CTHALIA fanart contest!

This contest is to celebrate the impending release of Cthalia's final act, and the creativity of the fan community! You join by drawing characters from the story, and winners will receive custom made art of their OC or favorite fandom character!

The contest will be running for just under three weeks through the month of April, and will be accepting entries across Toyhouse, Tumblr, and the Cthalia Discord server. Winners and prizes will be announced on a livestream at the end of May.

All contest submissions will be uploaded to a temporary gallery on Toyhouse, and added to individual character profiles once the contest is over. If you would like to view the gallery at any time, you can do so here!

★ CONTEST RULES ★

The rules for this fanart contest are as follows:

1) All art entered in this contest must be created ENTIRELY by yourself. The usage of bases, tracing, and/or AI is strictly prohibited. 2) Drawings submitted to this contest must be started and finished within the contest's time frame. Submitting old/pre-made pieces, or drawings that were already a work-in-progress before the contest started, is prohibited. 3) Your drawing/s must contain AT LEAST ONE member of Cthalia's main cast (Alice, Gretel, Shinrin, Hugo, Louise). You may draw them in any canon outfit-- such as their finale designs or Alice's infiltration gear-- but do not create new outfits for them for the sake of this contest. You may include side characters, but they cannot be the sole focus of the drawing. 4) Be a good sport, and be respectful to all contest participants (including yourself). 5) Submitting hateful, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate art to this contest will result in immediate disqualification. 6) In regards to sensitive or dark content: if it happens in the book, you can draw it, just provide a warning. 7) You can enter as many times as you like, but each entrant is only eligible to win one prize maximum.

This is the list of available prizes for the contest. The contest will begin with only first and second place prizes available, but more will unlock if the contest reaches certain entry milestones.

FIRST PLACE: Will receive a fully rendered fullbody illustration of their chosen character in a detailed scene environment. SECOND PLACE: Will receive a cel shaded, pop art-style fullbody of their chosen character with an abstract/pattern background.

Milestone goals: Third place - Pop art style halfbody (Unlocks at 20 individual contest participants) Runner-up 1 - Flat colored chibi (Unlocks at 30 participants) Runner-up 2 - Flat colored chibi (Unlocks at 40 participants)

All prizes will be drawn by Ekholocation during the month of May and revealed with the contest winners on a livestream after the novel release ends.

★ JUDGING CRITERIA ★

Entries will be judged based on character accuracy, story accuracy, and effort. Individual artistic skill levels will NOT be taken into account when judging in order to keep the contest completely fair.

When choosing winners, I will be looking for pieces that are accurate to the character designs, follow all rules of the contest, and achieve one or more of the following: -Strongly represent individual main cast characters from Cthalia -Creatively depict specific scenes from Cthalia -Capture relationships between characters in Cthalia

You are welcome to use these basic criteria as a guide, but don't let them hinder your creativity!

All entries to this contest must include a filled out version of the following prize form to be counted in judging.
