He’s never cared about anyone in any way before, and up until now he’s assumed he’s not capable of romantic feelings. So he’s just slow at understanding his own feelings lol. At the moment he just knows MC is important and irreplaceable to him (if you get ending 3 he also knows he likes kissing mc and wants to do that again).
