Eric graced us with this video!!! He looks so good in this video!!!π I can't keep calm, I want Feb 20, 2024 now!!!!!π
Please don't kick me out of the Chenford fandom.
But with all the Gelan/Nolgen shipping going on, I would like to put forward my two cents. I have listed a few reasons below on why I like Bailan:
1. I just love the trio that consists of Bailan & Celina. Bailan have almost adopted Celina and their interactions are cute and funny. They make a perfect "found family" just like Chenford and Tamara. (I would say even more so than the latter. Because Lucy is more like an elder sister to Tamara.)
2. Bailan have stopped grossing me out with their overtly immature sexual talks (I am no prude or anything, but I was not a fan of season 4 Bailan's talks).
3. Though Bailey is way out of Nolan's league yet they kinda complete each other. Bailey compensates for Nolan's cluelessness as she is shown as more of a sorted character.
4. Season 5 Bailey is not a superhero, she is more human.
5. Bailey's heartfelt proposal on episode 5X05 left me in tears. Yes, I am a sucker for relationships where the ladies taking the charge. Bailey deserves to be happy and if she found it in Nolan, i want her to have it. Seeing her take that step in spite of her traumatic past is a good message as it gives hope. π
6. Finally my ulterior motive is to see our Smitten Kittens (Chenford) dance on Bailan's wedding as a committed couple without any pretence of "owing each other dances".π
Unpopular opinion - But I don't even want Dim/Jake to die. Since, they are the reason why Chenford are together now. Moreover, they are Chenford from some other universe. They too deserve their happily ever after.π
*Watching the Rookie S5 ep8*
I love that instead of traditionally impulsive Lucy it's Tim - Mr Cautious Tightly Controlled Tim - who is the one to say, "Let's do this. Let's take this risk. I think it's worth it". Firstly, it shows how Lucy has changed him, but also, it shows just how much he cares
Just noticed last time we saw Chenford w/ Kojo, they were in BLACK (denoting emptiness & grief), but now?? Sheβs in WHITE (NEW BEGINNINGS), heβs in BLUE (TRUST & HEALING).
THE COLORS ARE LITERALLY TELLING THEIR STORY!!!ππ«Ά
As we are sure to get a Season Six, my only request to The Rookie showrunners is to give me a screencap similar to this. Except this time Tim should be dressed in a tux and Lucy should be in her white gown. The background can be either a beach or the Mid Wilshire police station's decorated parking lot. And of course all their friends surrounding them.π
This new promo has a few new scenes!π
I waited until the season ended to share my honest views on the Chenford breakup. While I'm optimistic they'll find their way back to each other eventually, I couldn't help but feel a bit conflicted about how it was handled. It seems Alexi may have misjudged what we as fans truly want by introducing a "will they, won't they" dynamic at this point. Perhaps this trope would have been better suited for season 5, allowing for more organic development. I believe many of us would have cherished those sweet, flirtatious moments between Lucy and Tim more deeply had they been given earlier in the series rather than now.
Instead, we were presented with a strong, supportive partnership between Chenford thus making their breakup even more perplexing. Additionally, I couldn't help but feel that portraying Lucy supporting Tim through his mental health struggles would have been a more impactful storyline, highlighting the importance of companionship during difficult times.
Please donβt hate me for this; like everyone else, I am entitled to my views.
Chris (sees Lucy in her apartment's parking garage): "Lucy? What are you--? Did you change your mind?"
Lucy: "Uhhh, I'm just...." (gets in her car and drives to the station)
