Removed the sterile bordered gauze and it sucked less this time but it was very much not a pleasant task - it still stuck and peeled the wound in some places. I thought I'd applied enough hydrogel, but even what I applied yesterday wasn't enough - my suspicions about the gauze absorbing it were probably right. I haven't been very active today but it was still soaked. The wound looks a little cleaner today, though.

Reduced mobility continues today, got worn out kind of easily going to the store and another couple shops and I didn't do that much walking. It was nice to be on skates for a few minutes at the skate shop, which I was able to manage alright and without pain.

Worked the gauze off slowly in a kind of clockwise motion - it's easier to pull along a line rather than over it, the less surface area you're peeling at a time, the more bearable it is. Bleeding started from this process but it was pretty minimal and only needed two of the 2x2 gauze pads. The antibiotic soap stings - I repeated the process from yesterday of basically sponging the wound with a damp soapy paper towel and then repeating this process with another damp towel without soap. Did it once more with a dry one to prepare the area for the tegaderm.

I applied the tegaderm once by accident without the hydrogel and then removed it to correct this mistake, which was just fine and didn't hurt. Applying the hydrogel stung a little worse than the soap, but I made sure to apply enough that all the recessed skin was filled and that I could run my gloved hand over it with ease without noticing height difference. Applied the new tegaderm without issue.
