reyna and nico are so criminally underrated as a duo.

i just finished rereading BoO, and the significance their relationship has in that book as compared to the content (or lack thereof) of their relationship ive seen in media SHOCKED me.

i genuinely think reyna was a significant part of what helped him open up to people. with her powers, she could see all of his pain and struggles-- note, so much that the GODDESS OF MISERY said she couldn't do anything to trouble him more-- and stuck with him. she supported him, literally and figuratively, every time shadow travelling drained him, through all the bad and the ugly. she had nico hailed as a hero, by both camps that ostracized him, after the end of the battle with the monsters. she gave him--the boy who hates touch--a hug, and he had to fight himself not to break down in her arms.

even further than that, nico was there for her for all of the issues with the ghosts of her family-- something reyna has avoided and ran from ALL HER LIFE. with reyna winning the award for the most complex character with the least actual insight and focus on her character, that is MONUMENTAL

the fandom likes LEO AND CALYPSO's relationship but they underrate THEM?

There are two friendships in the books that would be epic but had the potential to destroy the world as we know it:

The foxes are lucky they hate each other, bc if they became friends...

andrew and allison would’ve been too powerful if they had gotten along. they would go to the mall together and buy clothes for people who are not themselves that those people do not want and then get back to fox tower to give said people the clothes they do not want along with opinions that they also do not want. they know everyone’s business. they don’t care much about the emotional boundaries of others except yes they do. they’re mean in a way that’s fun if you fw them and very not fun if you don’t. they will be honest if you ask them if your club outfit is ugly. they will also be honest if you don’t ask them if your club outfit is ugly. they have very expensive cars in which they drive people around in silently. they are fueled by spite. they are blonde.

You ever think Andrew’s like, folding laundry in his apartment with Neil, throwing socks into their shared drawer because neither of them give a shit about socks, and then he has to pause because…he’s folding laundry.

For him and his boyfriend. Who are both adults with like, health insurance and shit. They say shit like “let’s go home” and “what’s for dinner?” Nothing is separated in their dresser except for workout wear because they need different size compression gear. They have matching jackets in the closet and pictures on the wall. They kiss each other good morning, and hello. They grocery shop. And suddenly Andrew’s nicotine gum is heavy in his pocket, because he stopped smoking so he’ll never be too out of breath to reach Neil.

Andrew has to stop to feel his heart, as if folding t-shirts was running a marathon, because he didn’t think he’d last this long. He didn’t think this was possible.

So Andrew sits in their apartment and feels.

I was reading the extras and was graced with a chapter, from Renee's POV, on Jean's rescue from the Ravens

And can we just stop to admire how, when she wants, Renee can serve cunt very well??

That peace sign for Riko while leaving in a masseratti with Jean at her side was pure GOLD

Also, fucking telling Zane that Riko can take it up with her if he "has something to say about it" was THE boss move.

Adding the "Im sure he knows where to find me" was the cherry on top of the cake

And that was the day the Ravens fully confirmed that the Foxes dont tolerate Neil's attitude problem, they all have an attitude problem
