BUCCHIGIRI?! EP06: Much Much Friendship! Nira-Reba-lution 21!
You see, these screenshots actually foreshadow what's going to happen in the Bucchigiri finale.
Mrs Tomoshibi, wearing CHERRY pajamas (a symbol of virginity), explains to her dumbass virgin son that loving someone means "surrendering your body and soul". This is going to be important to Arajin, who will realize he DOES care about Matakara and not because Mahoro or Shindo told him to ("Have you ever thought about Matakara's feelings?"/"If you don't hurry up, Ichiya will take over Matakara's body!"). To save Matakara, stricken by despair, Arajin will have to surrender his body (to Senya, because a fight with Ichiya is inevitable. His wish will no longer be "losing my virginity") and to surrender his soul (to Matakara. Arajin will have to make himself emotionally vulnerable to connect with Matakara and help him). And then-
Something that always I think back to is how Marito orders his sister to leave just after she uses the "family only" card to get Arajin to leave them alone.
Like the subject of "family" is something of a sore subject that he doesn't enjoy very much and would rather separate himself from as much as possible. Not to mention how he turns so cold and serious when dismissing Mahoro compared to how lively and carefree he is with Arajin. A random schuck who he's only known for a few weeks.
It's just a small observation and there hasn't been many references to his family background, something tells me that he doesn't have the best relationship with his biological family. It's telling how he feels more comfortable and happy interacting with other teens he's known in less time compared to the brocon his own flesh and blood. Especially since we've never seen him act this way with Mahoro compared to Arajin/Siguma Squad/Minato Kai etc. And yes he does eat her disgusting meal when he's alone, but why didn't do that earlier if he could tolerate it? Why hide it in secret? He does "care" to a degree but it's not on the same level as how he treats his friends.
What do you guys think? If you have any other ideas on this, you're more than welcome to reblog this with your thoughts on the subject.

i want to know what hiroko utsumi and the people behind bucchigiri were smoking when they thought of it because. japanese deliquents meets 1001 on arabian nights? hell yeah!! he gets a genie and he wants to lose his virginity? okay... then you watch it and that's scratching the surface. catboy. silly mom. the mc is in love with a brocon, and that girl has a freaky ass brother parades around on a toy camel ride. oh and he also has a gay harem now bc he punched a bunch of men so hard they all want him, which includes his crush's brother (leader of a gang) and the leader of his childhood best friend's gang, and his childhood best friend (who already was pining after him). did i mention that the other gang from the other school has a thing for bondage
Buddy needs a break ;;m;;
camilla & rosie from style savvy: styling star! i just think they're neat and gay
y'know what this is good enough to escape the tags zabu being the flying carpet (flying carpet -> zabuton -> zabu) correlates to how while he isn't enough to save the day on his own, his ultimate strength comes from being the 'vehicle' who pushes arajin to save matakara and escape his darkest hour through he continuously badgers arajin into checking on matakara throughout the series, all culminating in him getting komao to drag him to the kenichiro fight (which is what ultimately convinces arajin to take back senya) but also he's the carpet bc lmao look he's on the floor
Bucchigiri?! has pacing of weekly webcomic with 20-30 pages being smashed into one episode
not bad, not good, definitely unusual, tone shifts all the time, but at least there's so much happening in each episode it's never dull
