I think it would be so interesting if the reason Alastor affiliated himself with Vox in the first place was because he sought sinners who showed great potential for power in the hope that they could free him from his dealer one day. What Vox saw in Alastor was an opportunity to climb the ladder in hell and he never blinked twice, while Alastor saw a potential friend who he could mould and shape and help grow so that eventually he will be on his side. He will help him amass power and souls and money, so that maybe... just maybe one day he would be strong enough to fight the battle Alastor can't. And if Alastor just so happened to get Vox to fall in love with him? Even better. And if Vox just happened to hear from the grapevine that Alastor was using himthe entire time, but he doesn't find out WHY? Well, now wouldn't that be complicated and sad.

Btw, there's sth I wasn't able to keep while translating the text for the subtitles; I've used the line "Lubię patrzeć na twoją paszczę" (I like to stare at your mug) as a pun, bc "paszcza" while in the informal language would be equal to "mug" (as in, face) literally it means "maw"!

Alastor doesn't like being recorded. We repeatedly see his blurred image in the show. Vaggie's camera exploded in her hands when she tried to film him. He turned his back (which still frazzled) when they filmed the commercial. No Voxtek drone can capture his image and YET. We see Alastor pose for Vox in the finale. We then see a CLEAR photo of him with a torn edge where Vox's visage barely peaks through and STILL people have the gall to deny past platonic radiostatic? Ya'll the food is served to us on a silver platter, why are we refusing to see the truth

They were friends. They obviously had to like each other for that to happen. I so rarely see radiostatic fics/art where Alastor doesn't despise Vox's personality. Like babes, no. That man barely tolerates men in general, Vox would have had to match Alastor’s energy impeccably for Alastor to hang out with him. When asked to describe their relationship, Vivienne said "sad and complicated" and we as a fandom brushed past that WAYYY too quickly. If that's not fuel for ship angst, I don't know what is. Those parallels between them in the show (I feel like only brainrot radiostatic fans know which ones) are not there gratuitously. Alastor is a class A narcissist, OF COURSE he will like people who behave and act like him. Your honor they're in love, I rest my case

There's something about those radiostatic depictions where Vox is ruthless and evil in the eyes of everyone but Alastor that makes me so gooey and happy. Alastor, who's hell's version of a nightmare, a despicable, eldritch monster plaguing people's minds, but has a soft spot for this odd television man. Alastor who is fully aware of the cunning and ambition of this sinner but still chooses to be gentle with him, as though he's something fragile, something precious, something important, something worth cherishing. And Vox who sees this bloodthirsty killer who can snuff him out like a light, but instead chooses to see the man hiding underneath. Vox who just can't be afraid of Alastor even if he tried to. I love unhinged, toxic radiostatic, but soft radiostatic you will always have my heart
