OH MY GOD THIS IS GENIUS???

I know Sonic characters being able to survive in space is game-accurate but imagine if they weren’t able to do that in the movie verse. 👀

Imagine this- instead of Sonic and Shadow having their heart-to-heart on the moon, they ended up talking in the flower fields, similar to the one where Shadow and Maria used to hang out. When they both join hands to turn super, Sonic warns Shadow to not let go of his super form, as the abundance of chaos energy protects him from the lethal effects of space. At the end of the battle, Shadow is exhausted. He is running out of strength to keep a hold of his super form. Sonic notices this when he sees that Shadow’s pink-gold fur is starting to fade. Sonic panics and tries to save him by sharing his chaos power, resulting in Sonic endangering himself, but Shadow stops him.

Sonic begs Shadow to remain strong, telling him that he has a home within the Wachowski family, but Shadow lets go. He thinks of Maria in his last moments as he freezes in the vacuum of space.

Sonic 3 is a PG movie so they couldn’t show a graphic death such as this but it's still interesting to think about.😭

Why you should read this: it starts with the simple plot idea of "what if Sonic was the one to have found Shadow first in the lab" and then becomes an absolute masterpiece as Shadow discovers what is it like to actually be treated as a real being with feelings and what it is like to live life and he learns it side by side with Sonic and the help of the Wachowski family while the events of the Movie takes place differently. Not gonna lie its angsty and dark and so full of love your heart will explode - and you should really be mindful of the tags - but it's so worth it I've harassed the author with comments about how amazing this was for the past two days and you should do the same

Shadow, have you tried to say something super corny to Sonic in Spanish or French just to see his reaction? Sometimes its fun to say heartfelt stuff in a language they can't understand and make them flustered and confused~. ❤️

*he crosses his arms* Not recently. I did once when we were still enemies, and he didn't seem to register it. I've also used sign, but he keeps thinking I'm trying to initiate dance competitions. I'll need to teach him a second language at some point. It's frustrating only being able to communicate in one. *He looks up as Sonic zooms past him into the kitchen. Shadow follows him, leaning against the counter and watching him rifle through the fridge*
