the worst part of having a doctor tell you to "reduce stress" is that it is legitimately impossible for the vast majority of people. quitting your stressful job will result in stressful homelessness, stressful starvation, and stressful poverty. cutting of stressful family and friends will result in stressful loneliness, stressful drama, and stressful accusations. logging off the stressful social media will also result in stressful loneliness, being stressfully out of the loop, and stressful boredom. ignoring stressful politics will result in stressful lack of preparation for stressful curtailing of your personal liberties and stressful cuts to every public service you use. it's impossible to not be stressed unless you're literally some kind of richtok nepo baby, and even those weirdos have the "stress" of managing their servants and deciding which olympic sized swimming pool on their stressfully massive property is better for hosting their stressful sweet sixteens.
really being told to "reduce stress" or that your illness is caused by stress is being told "suck it up and get out of my office. also it's technically your fault for living in the real world"
Edit stop arguing this was a vent about having a neurologist who seems to have graduated from clown school instead of med school, plus i'm a marxist leninist
"stop commenting on actress's bodies" nah actually I think I will continue to comment on the fact that since the rise of ozempic every second actress looks like she's about to blow away in a strong wind because I lived through heroin chic and normalised eating disorders and insane body expectations the FIRST fucking time and saw the damage it did so I'm personally not going to stay silent and let choice feminism make extreme weight loss "acceptable" just because tiktok has convinced some of yall that any choice a woman makes is Valid just because she's a fucking woman like are you all fucking serious right now
We owe it all to them.
women’s bodies weren’t “made” to do anything, nature didn’t “intend” anything, no human action is “unnatural” and there is no inherent “purpose” to a human life
i don't know if people know this but the idea that AGAB is useful in medical contexts is actually actively dangerous
one of my friends has CAIS. they were assigned female and have a prostate. they have been denied prostate exams multiple times on the basis of "being assigned female" despite insisting that they had valid concerns about symptoms that aligned with prostate cancer. guess what happened when they finally got an exam? they ended up having prostate cancer
it fortunately is now in complete remission, which is why they're comfortable with me talking about it, but you see the issue here? biology is never as simple as assigned sex, by judging the care someone needs by their proximity to maleness or femaleness any mixed or otherwise "abnormal" sex characteristics they have are completely ignored
it doesn't just affect intersex people either, you're throwing trans people under the bus as well. transitioning does change your sex characteristics, trans people should have access to medical care that is catered to their body and not to their assigned sex
Can we erase the idea that low-wage workers being visibly human on the clock is "unprofessional." It does not hurt customers to see cashiers drinking from water bottles or sitting on chairs. But water deprivation and forced standing are both established forms of torture. Hope this helps 😘
hey so at what point do the tasks stop being relentless
