Mini Comic About Pacifica’s DD&D Journey

Started rewatching Infinity Train recently, and something I find interesting about the fandom is that everyone seems to be taking the mirror world at face value? Like, for a setting where literally everything supernatural on the train is directly fabricated by the train, I see a surprisingly high number of fanworks that assume the chrome car just happens to be the intersection point to a total-third-party mirror dimension.

In a lot of ways, I like Lake’s story more if she and the four other reflections popped into being with 13+ years of fabricated memories the split second Tulip set foot in the car. It plays wonderfully into her overall identity crisis and it dovetails nicely with how Mace seems to be acting more as a mouthpiece for the train during episode 8. 

It also would play nicely with the vague frustration Lake has whenever Jesse tries to wheedle information about the Mirror world out of her- the train never intended its worldbuilding to stand up to prolonged scrutiny, It didn’t expect any human to be engaging with the set piece for more than like a minute. 

ok but can we talk about how FUCKED UP it is that mabel made an alternate version of dipper?

not fucked up she did that, (its p fucked up but hear me out) but fucked up she felt like she had to

like she felt like dipper put her down so much she made a different “more supportive” version of him

and not to mention how even though dipper clearly hated him, he never held it against mabel

I've done a pretty bad job balancing Dipper's confidence and snarkiness with his anxiety in my Mindscaperers series, so in upcoming chapters I'm going to try and rectify that.

While I write the final two chapters have a quote from Chapter 12, which is fully written but I don't feel like the battle is impressive enough for me to post on its own:

"We lived through an apocalypse and stopped it. We have faced zombies and ghosts and interdimensional nightmares. If Mabel and Pacifica want to, they can and will destroy the [sentient chess pieces'] government.”

I was going to lament the complete lack of longer fics centered solely on Dipper and Mabel's relationship, before realizing that I have, in fact, read one story like that. However, Dipper was so traumatized he acted pretty different.

This is also the story that convinced me I shouldn't read main character death.

I feel like Ivor would be the type of person who is enjoying Cat café. He and Lukas would both go there when they want to chat.
