Here it is!
I swear on Janna I'm not abandoning Low Lays the Devil in Me, but I have to write a CaitVi one shot inspired by this. I'm already 3000 words into it and it really only will a one shot. Think of it as like a little balm to the angst in Low Lays the Devil đđ
The tattooed burglar swung her legs over the balcony railing with confident, graceful movement and turned so that she was facing Caitlyn. âThanks again for not shooting me,â she said with a crooked smile. Caitlyn felt her breath hitch ever so slightly at how handsome this burglar was and prayed that the other woman hadnât heard it. âThanks for potentially saving my dissertation,â she replied. There was an awkward pause and Caitlyn got the bizarre feeling that the woman didnât actually want to leave. Caitlyn was surprised that she didnât want her to leave, either. It lasted only a moment before the stranger lowered herself down partially. She looked up at Caitlyn one more time with a more serious expression. âYou should lock your balcony. The next burglar may not be as nice.â

Inspired by this post. I'll get back to writing "Low Lays the Devil in Me" soon, but I think someone needs to take my keyboard away from me because I have a problem. And bring me an ice pack for my poor hands.
Enjoy this 12,500 word indulgence.
Omfg don't look at me. What was supposed to be a cute little one shot has turned into what will be over 10,000 words of pure indulgence đ«Łđ«Ł Hope to have it up before I go to bed but no promises.

Brain, don't do this. You got a massive story you're working on already....but-but-but...đđđ
âThen why havenât we recruited him?â Caitlyn demanded. âWhy keep up this charade if heâs apparently not one of the corrupt ones?â âWeâve been over this, sweetheart. It legitimizes your cover. Mohanâs responses to your actions will help sell them. We need Marcus to believe youâre willing to become a corrupt Enforcer and if your partner who is the poster boy for anti-corruption continues to be angry with you, then it will help speed things along,â Cassandra explained. âHe also has plausible deniability if you are found out.â âNot to mention, other than the safety of you, Vi, and Sevika, there is nothing more important than your cover remaining a secret. Are you willing to risk the entire operation on whether or not Mohan can keep his mouth shut?â Grayson asked.

For the first time, Mohan unexpectedly pulls rank on Caitlyn.
Turns out writing a spy story is hard đ€Ł I have spent half the morning and a few hours last night trying to figure out getting something to work in âLow Lays the Devil in Me.â This one is a bit harder to make up as I go. I was worried I had boxed myself into a corner, but I have a plan now!

Emir! My boy â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Recommend if you liked Emir from the CaitVi fic "Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone."
GimmeTheFeels is doing amazing!!
Literally what happened for Heart Made of Glass đ€Ł
would he fucking say that? let's investigate.
They both went silent, soaking up one anotherâs presence as hands softly and innocently re-familiarized themselves with each other, but Caitlyn knew their time was up. Eventually, with a great sigh, she pulled away and cleaned herself up the best she could. âHow do I look?â she asked after running her fingers through her slightly tangled hair and straightening her clothes. Viâs look of such soft affection made Caitlynâs heart feel like it had forgotten how to properly work. âYou look beautiful,â Vi whispered reverently. She didnât care if she was a few minutes late, Caitlyn moved forward and kissed Vi, hoping she could feel how much she loved her in it.

Caitlyn meets Corina Veraza and Vi asks Caitlyn do something awful.
Next chapters gets a little dark, but not any darker than the show does. Donât worry, no one dies but Iâm putting my poor babies through it and I have no one to hate but myself for it đ
I just watched a clip of Cassandraâs funeral scene in Arcane and I felt way more sad than I did the first time I watched it because of my dumb fic. Iâve grown way too attached to her đ
âI donât think youâre stupid, Mohan,â Caitlyn said quietly, but resolutely as she met his gaze. He hummed, almost like he didnât believe her. âWell, then throw me a bone. Itâs okay if youâre pissed at your boss for giving you an assignment that he knew would fuck with you emotionally.â She sighed harshly and ran her fingers through her hair. Opening up a little bit wouldnât hurt, she thought. âFine, I am angry,â she stated, allowing some of her fury to break through. Mohan just stared at her, taking a drag from his cigarette. After several moments, he nodded. âOkay, then. Letâs guard your familyâs shit,â he said, stamping his cigarette out.
Low Lays the Devil In Me - Chapter 2 - Phoenix314 - Arcane: League of Legends (Cartoon 2021) [Archive of Our Own]
Caitlyn must contend with hostile forces on multiple fronts as Sheriff Marcus has a strange request for her and Mohanâs new assignment.
Thank the gods Caitlyn and Vi are still togheter
Haha thereâs plenty of drama in this political/espionage intrigue story. Besides, navigating a relationship with all the shit thatâs going down is way more interesting than breaking them up.
âAny information?â Mohan asked in his smooth, baritone voice. âAs usual, inmate 516 seems to be keen on wasting our time,â Caitlyn replied in a clipped tone. âI may suggest solitary if we donât get anything soon.â âI still believe she doesnât know anything about the smuggling bust going wrong,â Mohan said as they walked out of the prison doors and towards the cable cars. It was always freezing on the small, man made isle Stillwater sat on. The sun had fully set and the wind off the Shurima Isthmus was as brutal as it was icy. âShe is well connected to the woman who we know fed us false information. Speaking of, did you get anything out of her?â Caitlyn asked, shivering in the cold. He shook his head. âNothing, as usual. Sevika refuses to say anything at all.â Caitlyn hummed, but didnât reply, which Mohan took that as a sign to keep speaking. âPerhaps we should switch up which prisoners we talk to.â

WAKE UP! THE SEQUEL IS OUT! This is the sequel to "Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone." It's out sooner than I anticipated, but I got bored cleaning up the first fic, so I'll do that bit by bit while working on this. Hope you enjoy it :D
iâm like genuinely distraught over the epilogue (NOT IN A BAD WAY!! i love your writing)
but what do you MEANNNN thereâs a new sheriff, what do you mean cait is sending vi to stillwater, WHAT WAS THIS SWITCH UPPP i just want them to be happy đȘ this sequel better not devastate međ«”đ«”đ«”đ«”đ«”đ«”đ«”đ«”đ«”
(frl tho ive been following since the beginning canât wait for that sequel)
hi i just started chapter 30 and DID YOU JUST KILL OFF MY BOY EMIRâïžâïžâïžâïžâïžIM GONNA CRY
Spoilers below
đŹđ«Łđ I am so sorry! I loved him, too. He was my buddy and Iâll miss him.
GimmeTheFeels lived up to their name in a wonderful gifted fic to me centered on my OC Emir from âHeart Made of Glass.â Youâd need to read my fic to fully appreciate it, but he is the Kirammanâs butler and I loved his relationship with Vi so much. I am honored he captured peopleâs affection to the point that one of you wrote a fic about him đ
Please read and leave a kudos and comment! Itâs so good.
I'm about halfway through the first chapter of "Heart Made of Glass" sequel and I am just so excited! It's way better than the first chapter of the first fic, imo, and I hope you guys like it!!
I can't tell if it's because I've read and reread and reread my own fic a million times for editing and referencing, but I am not enjoying going back and cleaning up Heart of Glass lolol. could be that it's just so flipping long, too haha. Maybe I'll just do one chapter a day alongside writing the sequel. For now, I think I'll just play some cyberpunk.
Warning: Read "Heart Made of Glass" before this if you haven't already. These are just some supplemental scenes that some people asked me to write. Note that I most likely won't do any more of these for "Heart Made of Glass." Everything I've wanted to tell in that fic has been told.
Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone: Perspectives - Phoenix314 - Arcane: League of Legends (Cartoon 2021) [Archive of Our Own]
Just finished your fic (love it by the way, your writing is TOP TIER.)
I am screaming. Crying. Throwing up.
WHY?!?!?!
Aaaaah thank you!!! Don't worry, the sequel will be coming out soon!! <3 <3 <3
Three thoughts: Firstly - really liked your fic, was the first one I got invested enough in to put more than a single comment on Ao3 (and this ask too yay). Secondly: as to alternate perspective ideas, chapter 27 between Vi blacking out and waking up in the Piltover hospital. How did that meeting between Vander and Cassandra go? Thirdly: as to the council/founding lore - why can't both Heimerdinger and House Kiramman be the founders of Piltover? My headcanon is that there were multiple founding families of Piltover, and that's the origins of the council. Heimerdinger gets to be "the founder" because he's the only individual still around, but the Kirammans (and maybe also the Ferroses and the Hoskels, but not the Medardas) were definitely part of founding Piltover too. I'm also now wondering if the hypothetical divide of "founding councillor / elevated later" fits onto the fic's status quo / revolutionary council divide neatly. Did Cassandra first try to persuade the councillors whose houses were elevated to the council after Piltover's founding?
Glad you liked it!! <3 <3 I appreciate all the comments you've left! All of you make my day when I see them :D
As for the story parts:
I could definitely add that perspective, but I believe I can post that little one shot today, so we'll see how it goes. That's a good request!
Here's my headcanon (of my own lore lol):
The main reason is that I wanted Cassandra to have a sense of responsibility to to the city. In the chapter from her point of view, she tells the old sheriff before Grayson: âSheriff, my ancestors shaped the very cobblestones that laid the foundations of this city,â she stated in a tone that brooked no argument. âIf I wish to traverse a single one of them, then I shall, no matter how unsensible it may seem to you. Am I understood?â TL;DR: I like the gravity of the Kiramman's being the original founders.
Now, how the elevating of councilors works:
The whole city was once Zaun, the last bastion of the Valoran Empire, which I imagine that the Valoran empire set up the council there to run the city while they expanded their empire. So when the empire fell, Zaun was just left with the council and went on business as usual. Their main areas of government, law enforcement, etc., were located where the present day Zaun is now. It just kind of existed like any other city in the world until one day, the trade merchant family, the Hoskels, proposed the creation of the Sun Gates, which is a massive canal. They created the River Pilt and built up the artificing, trade, and science centers for the Sun Gates on the northside of the river that would become Piltover.
Once Hoskel's family set off the bombs that led the the creation of the fissures and sunk half of the south side of Zaun into them, those on that council were destroyed along with it. So a new one had to be formed and, due to the destruction of the south side, the new one was built on the north side. Because the surviving governing families (think of them like distant relations of the original council in Zaun who worked on the Sun Gates) were related to the original councilors, nothing actually changed in terms of what family ruled, but now you have a bunch of people who never would have been in powerful positions or receiving a lot of wealth suddenly getting it, fueling the greed that led to them not providing aid to the destroyed part of the city. Not a great foundation for government immediately following a devastating disaster. Now, families come and go, some die out, some leave, some are exiled, etc. So some families have changed, such as Shoola's being 600 years on the council as opposed to Cassandra's being on it for 800 years.
I will say, part of my clean up throughout this fic will be fixing up the lore a bit. Making it up as you go along, especially for a fic as long as this one, will lead to discrepancies. I'll do what I can, but for the most part, the important parts are what I want them to be and will be unchanged: the Kirammans are the ones who built Zaun/Piltover and are the oldest family on the council, the Hoskels accidentally sent half of the city into the fissures--which would turn into the Undercity--and ever since The Sinking, no one from what was the south side of Zaun has served on the council.
Lastly, because its been so long that these family's have been on the council, there isn't much weight between who was elevated and who wasn't, except perhaps Cassandra's and that was mainly due to the fact that she had the most money because of how old her family is (that's changed, however, because Mel is now the richest person in Piltover). The reason Heimerdinger is the leader of the council now is because he is the longest serving councilor and his wisdom, despite its inconsistency at times, still does serve them well in other matters.
For my fic "Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone," if you want to see any alternative perspectives for that Vi never got to overhear, put them down below. I already have 2 times that Vander and Caitlyn chat and the meeting between Cassandra and Vander.
Note: this is for things Vi knew were going on, but never got a chance to listen/overhear what was said. No deleted scenes or anything like that. Maybe once the sequel is finished I can do something like that.
Otherwise, if you have any questions about "Heart Made of Glass," send me an ask and, as long it's not going to spoil the sequel, I'll answer.
Hi :) just wanted to say that I absolutely adored your fic! It's probably been my favourite caitvi fic ever!
I don't want to rush you but do you have a time frame on when you think the sequel will come? đ«¶đ»đ«¶đ»
Favorite!?!? Thank you so much đ„č đ
So the plan is to go through the first fic's chapters and clean some things up. Get rid of some lines that don't make sense with where the story ended up going or taking out things I never actually addressed--none of which will change the plot or characters.
Then I am going to flesh out the sequel a little bit. Make sure I have the first few chapters planned out before writing the first one (and by fleshed out, I really just mean a sentence or two summarizing what I want to be done in that chapter) and write down the main goals of our antagonists. But I'm going to continue to write the main plot on the fly, as I did with Heart Made of Glass, since that really worked out for me for the first fic. Fingers crossed it works on this one, too!
Hopefully, this will only take a week max and then a few days to write the first chapter. I already have a very clear idea of what the first chapter of the sequel will look like, so it shouldn't take long once I actually get started on it.
RAHHH i donât want to finish Heart Made of Glass,, but in the best way possibleđ„ș coming across this fic has been like a blessing, itâs got all of the cute interactions and worldbuilding i didnât know i needed. usually i donât commit to unfinished fics right away, but your hard work deserves more than just a kudos and a praise. itâs also been the most invested iâve been in a fic, always reading the new chapter the second i get the notification and literally going out of my way to recommend this fic to others when i can đ€đ€
overall i just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing fic!! im very excited to read the rest, just sad that this part is over ykđȘ i hope you have an amazing day/night, i canât wait to read more of your writing :)))
Thank you so much!!!đđ I'm so glad you loved it!! You are all so kind to me đđ
Vi walked through the City of Progress, the cool Piltovan breeze blowing gently through her hair. It was a beautiful, late summer night as the light of the moon glinted off of the gold and white marble stone that decorated the arched buildings of Piltover. She passed several Enforcers, but as she caught the eye of a few of them, they gave her a respectful bow of their head and carried on with their patrols. Still not used to that, Vi thought as she approached a familiar area. She shook off the old, ever-burning embers of anger at seeing those uniforms. Even after a year of getting used to the idea that she was now part of the upper echelons of Piltover, she doesnât think sheâll ever truly get over the resentment she held for its law enforcement officers. Especially after tonight, came a bitter thought.

One year later...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We fucking did it, everyone. 31 chapters, 180,00 words written in a month and a half, and we have finished "Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone."
I talk about it in the end notes of this chapter, but thank you again for everyone who has followed this story. Whether you commented, left a kudos or even just read it and liked it, I am so thankful for you all and that so many people seemed to enjoy it. It's crazy to me that what started as just a funny little joke I thought of about Cassandra chastising Vi for checking out her daughter when Vi was supposed to be working turned into this. I never imagined I would actually ever finish a fic of this magnitude before. It's been so fun and you are all just the best.
See you in the sequel! đđ
Literally cannot escape Arcane, not even where I work is safe đ€Ł
âHow does this woman continue to outmaneuver us?â Caitlyn demanded furiously. âWe are public figures, Caitlyn, and are thus knowable,â Mel stated evenly, âwhereas sheâs been able to operate from the shadows for years, longer than our alliance has been around.â Caitlyn ground her teeth together, relaxing infinitesimally when Vi put a hand on her thigh. âWeâll figure something out, Cupcake,â Vi assured her as soothingly as she could. Caitlyn took a slow, calming breath and leaned back in her chair, her eyes distant. Vi wanted to ask what she was thinking, but knew this wasnât the time. âWhat now?â she posed to the group.
The Chembarons retaliate against the allianceâs bold move. Vi and Caitlyn are made an unexpected offer.
Vi, who felt like they had done nothing but wait around for everyone to do their part, suddenly felt like everything they had been planning for was happening so quickly she could hardly keep up. Jayceâs breakthrough, Hira Tano flipping on Hoskel, and now Graysonâs operation at the Sun Gates went off without a hitch. âTwenty people arrested, three years of Hoskelâs manifest records all with the same coded language on them, Hiraâs testimony, and Heimerdinger has been given everything,â Cassandra said the evening after the operation. Emir had broken out a bottle of champagne as Cassandra called for a toast with everyone in the alliance as well as Jayce and Tobias. âAll we are waiting on now is word from him to convene an emergency council meeting to determine what is to be done with Hoskel, but the laws are quite clear. The scope of Hoskelâs crimes are so vast that it can only end with the call for his removal as councilor, an immediate banishment, and his family will be banned from serving on the council in perpetuity. None of this would be possible without every single person in this room. No matter the outcome, I am incredibly proud of all of you.â
