Posting cuz I can’t be the only person who hadn’t thought of this. If you toggle the speak screen option under accessibilities on an iPhone, you can put your fanfic in reader mode or download it and have Siri read it to you with the screen off. As someone who doesn’t need to use this feature, I just never put it together until I started writing fanfiction again after an 8 year break.
It’s not exactly like an audiobook in that, for example, Siri can’t tell when a word like “okay” should sound bright and happy or serious and reluctant, so it can be jarring. But it’s super handy for writing as it will help you finding missing or repeated words or help you come up with ideas while you’re driving or something. It’s amazing! I feel dumb I never thought of it sooner.
Caitlyn laughed again and shook her head at Vi, who could only grin at the happiness that radiated off the other girl. Vi suddenly wished she could freeze time in that very moment of Caitlyn laughing in Vi’s childhood bedroom before everything would change and there was no going back. She raised her hand and pushed Caitlyn’s hair behind her ear, then cupped her cheek. Caitlyn sighed and gripped her fingers, pulling Vi closer as she kissed her palm so tenderly it made the back of Vi’s eyes burn. “I could never have done this without you, Cupcake,” Vi whispered. Caitlyn shook her head. “You are so strong, Violet,” she replied and brought a hand up to Vi’s chest, laying it over her heart. “And you love so fiercely. You are the daughter of revolutionaries. You never would have taken everything my people did lying down. At one point, sooner or later, you would have acted. You love your people too much.” “No. No more of this my people and your people,” Vi said, and the intensity of her tone made blue eyes widen in surprise. “Our people. You and I have bled and lied and killed and sacrificed for this moment. Soon, this will be over, and we can begin building a future that all our people deserve. We can be the ones who show them what they are capable of when we work together. We will show them, Cait. We will show them all.”

The alliance begins its assault on Stillwater while Vander and Cassandra confront Bolbok.
Mohan nodded. “You mean to meet with the Chembarons soon?” “Yes,” she answered. “I would imagine not long after I return.” He clenched his jaw a few times and sighed. “Be extremely careful, Caitlyn. These are career criminals who don’t trust anyone. I suspect they don’t care whose daughter you are, if they find out you’re lying to them, they won’t blink before they shoot you in the head and dump you on your mother’s doorstep.” “I will be, Mohan. I promise.”

Caitlyn has a talk with Powder and says goodbye to everyone at the Lodge.
The way I am enjoying writing this next chapter in "Low Lays the Devil in Me" about the Chembarons is almost worrisome. This is almost as much fun to write as Vi's extraction chapter.
So, as much as I am tempted to rewrite "Tethered," I also don't want to disappoint the people who like this story as it is. However, I will say that I think I could create a much better story since this was initially supposed to only be 3 chapters. I will say that, to me, it's turned into this really amazing world building idea and intense love story that, in my opinion, I haven't done justice.
So, vote below if you'd be okay with a rewrite with alternating Cait and Vi POVs and deeper world building with Runeterra's magic system. If majority votes yes, I will begin the rewrite and start the Pirate AU after "Low Lays the Devil in Me" is finished since I'm not too far from being done with that one.
If "no" wins, then I'll just stick to Caitlyn just talking at Vi to move the story along and then finish it up in a chapter or two as I originally intended.
I've noticed a bit of a trend with my fics where, in terms of in-story time frames, Caitlyn and Vi fall for each other in a short time and I'm like "hmm, should I have made it longer to be more believable?" But then I remember the time they spent together in S1 was probably no more than 24-48 hours and these gay ass bitches were asking "what about us?" by the end of those few days and we ate it up like goblins 😂
This is such a weird world and I have no idea how my brain came up with it. I'm not sure if anyone will actually find it interesting, but I'll still write it because it's a such a fun concept to play around with, even if it incredibly strange.
If you want a hint: I have corporatized the world of the gods and asked myself what would happen if the God of Death wants to retire.
Mentioned this in a reply on a different post, but thinking about doing a Hades/Persephone CaitVi oneshot, but definitely with a twist (definitely not focusing on the original Greek version lol). Maybe after the next chapter is out 🤔🤔
I just powered through your fic and it’s probably up there with my favorites right now. I’m extremely impressed by just how much you’ve written in such a short time. I’m very excited to see more, and also enjoy your take on Cassandra. Probably my favorites right now part tbh.
It means so much to me that you love it so much and that you even took the time to come on here to say this. That is so nice of you 💜💜 you all have just been the best and so supportive!
Okay, my hand is feeling much better, and I can write again. I'll get a chapter or two of "Tethered" up first. I'm focusing on that one because I feel bad I stopped writing in the middle of the original version, so I want to get a few more out for those who like the story. Then I'll get back into "Low Lays the Devil in Me."
There were three seconds of shocked silence between the two of them before a protective ferocity unlike anything Caitlyn had ever seen from Pivoni roared behind her dark eyes. Even after a night of facing down enemies who tried to kill her, Caitlyn wasn’t sure she’d ever seen anyone look at her with such fury before. Perhaps it was because she was so tired, or maybe it was the shock at the scene before her that caused Caitlyn to miss Pivoni spring from her chair and suddenly shoved Caitlyn against a wall with a powerful grip on the collar of her shirt as she looked at her with a twisted snarl. “You better have a good reason for being here or I swear to Janna I will fucking kill you,” Pivoni spat and Caitlyn, despite her confident claim to Vi earlier, realized that Pivoni meant it. “I—I didn’t—I—” Pivoni yanked at Caitlyn’s shirt and slammed her against the wall again. “Last chance, Kiramman.”

In the wake of the Battle of Stillwater, Caitlyn gives Pivoni one more chance to side with them before it's too late.
“I think it wants me to touch the tether.” Caitlyn’s eyes went wide in slight alarm. “I don’t know, Vi. Asking it questions is one thing, but this seems like it could be dangerous.” A soft plea pulled at her sternum, and Vi realized what it had been trying to ask her. She met Caitlyn’s concerned gaze, the Arcane scars in her blue irises glowing. “I think it’s asking me to trust it,” Vi stated carefully.
