“Evan,” Pandora said slowly, pulling a worn-looking t-shirt out of the basket of clean laundry she was folding. “What is this?”

Evan looked up from his Nintendo Switch and eyed the shirt before looking back down. “That’s a shirt,” he mumbled, wincing as a loud womp-womp sound echoed from the speakers.

Pandora let out a loud sigh and resisted the urge to slap her brother over the head. “I know it’s a shirt, you idiot,” she replied. “But whose is it?”

“Not mine,” Evan responded, not even looking her way this time.

It was at this point that Pandora considered getting a new roommate. “Right,” she nodded, gritting her teeth. “Do you know who it might belong to?”

But before Evan could give another helpful response, the bathroom door opened, and Barty Crouch–dressed in only his boxers– walked out, looking extremely comfortable, especially considering he didn’t live there.

“Oh, that’s mine! Thanks, Pan!” he said happily, taking the shirt from her hand and pulling it on before grabbing a banana from the table and jumping onto the couch next to Evan.

Pressing her fingertips to the bridge of her nose, Pandora reminded herself that murder was currently illegal. “Barty. Why was your shirt in the washer? At a flat where you don’t even live?” she demanded.

“Because it was dirty,” he explained, looking at her like she was crazy.

“Do I want to know why?” she asked, already knowing she didn’t.

“Probably not, honestly,” Barty replied, grinning.

But Evan, still mashing at buttons on his Switch, piped up. “It got all stained last night when we were fu-”

But Pandora decided she had enough. “I’m going to Lily’s,” she interrupted, deciding she was probably never going to come back.
