A perplexing creature
Hey! Do you by chance have a recipe or the general ingredients for the dark chocolate and matcha cake you made? I thought I was in one of the baking communities I joined at first because it looks so amazingβ I was just ranting to my partner about how the photography is beautiful, the aesthetic of the woven basket and wooden supplies and such is immaculate, the mushroom candles amazing, the tumeric dye genius, and the matcha is not only so artistically beautiful because it emulates grass for the beetle but also a culinary delicacy because matcha and dark chocolate would go SO hard together
I'm sorry this is probably so weird but God I love that cake
(also I know I don't know you but happy birthday!!!)
The cake itself is box mix with milk instead of water and an extra egg, but my icing recipe is special! A standard size box of instant pudding mix (the small one, white chocolate flavor), β cup of powdered sugar, and 1 pint of heavy whipping cream. I added a few spoonfuls of matcha until it looked pretty. I double that recipe for a full-size cake and triple it for two boxes. Oh and the candles are from Michael's! I'm really happy you appreciate my baking and photography!! Also I don't think the message is weird, I'm always happy to share my recipes! (^_^)
Happy midwinter, from my beetles, who have no idea that it's cold outside
It is! The pear is foam, so I pinned the roach to it to get that pose

Literally giggling and kicking my feet right now, I did not expect this much attention for my bugs (#^.^#)
Sweet creatures! Don't worry about peanut's injury, she had that before I got her. I don't think she even knows it's there

Probably my best artwork ever, two Asian forest scorpions locked in battle. The back is a mirror, which makes their jungle look larger. The plants aren't totally accurate to the biome due to the craft store being limited in their variety of native tropical-subtropical Asian plants
August in a bell jar π»π±πͺ»πͺ²πΎ Ironically, I made it last March. The beetles are June and grapevine
One of my favorites, a male atlas moth on a tree of heaven, surrounded by bamboo. I made this piece to mimic flash photography in a forest at night. Tree bark is sculpted by me with clay
I figure this site would appreciate stuff like this. I made these two artworks back in June π³οΈββ§οΈπ³οΈβπ
I finally finished my 1,000 piece 22"Γ28" lepidoptera puzzle. I think I'm in love with it

Dark chocolate cake, matcha and white chocolate icing, and dark chocolate hercules beetles with white chocolate elytra dyed yellow with tumeric. Made by me (^.^)
Not only do I like to take pictures of bugs, but I also like to pin them. The only creatures off limits for me are those who are endangered and protected. I only collect already dead and captive bred. Anything outside of that was gifted to me, not bought by me
I have been given a macro lense attachment for my phone as an early birthday gift. Here's some of my smallest specimens. I'm still getting the hang of it. My photos will be improving
Miscellaneous friends to finish off my photo dumping
My sweet blue babies, Blueberry (bigger one on the left) and Peanut (smaller one on the right)
Their favorite activities include cuddling, kissing, and watching me sleep
