Vintage bamboo weevils! These specimens are older than me! By, like, a lot!

Because bamboo weevils are from Asia, and these are very old, I decided to try and mimic staples of classic Asian art, like the deep green of bamboo leaves and the bright, lucky color red

I've decided to do "wasp exposure therapy." I'm very scared of wasps, but I know they're important, so I started leaving out a bowl of water and pebbles for them last year. This year, I've decided to sit with them. They like my shoes

Thank you! I traced them over photos on multimedia sketch paper with copic alcohol markers and micron pens for the fine details. Then I cut them out with regular old scissors, bent the wings a little for some dimension, and glued them onto my lampshade with loctite super glue. I have a tutorial with pictures on my blog, too, for some visual aid
