Hello! You reblogged a picture of a “bronze winged jacana” earlier, and it looked like a bird with a tone of legs. Is this a fictional creature, or generated, or did I just see the picture wrong?

male jacanas of all species are the ones that actually provide the childcare, and they've developed a way to literally carry their offspring around by holding them in their wings!

a jacana dad protecting his brood DOES appear to have an alarming number of legs, but it's just his cherished toddler jacanas, no worries :)
