My computer isn't doing too well right now, so I'll have to post the rest of the photos tomorrow.
Black-capped Chickadee - Poecile atricapillus
Black-Throated Blue Warbler - Setophaga caerulescens
I’m back from Maine. It’s time for some cool bird pictures!
There was a group of five armadillos, unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of all of them together.
Just a couple of mammals.
Tyrannus forficatus - Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
Scissor-tailed Flycatchers are so amazing, I’ve never seen them before my trip to Oklahoma. They were everywhere.
I think this is Chlosyne nycteis - Silvery Checkerspot
Sialia sialis - Eastern Bluebird He’s actually a lot brighter. The coloring just went a bit bad since I took this photo through a window, and it was cloudy outside.
Setophaga dominica - Yellow-throated Warbler
So far I haven't gotten any bird pictures on this trip, but I am determined to get some.
I haven't seen too many birds yet since we're still driving, but I'm taking this extremely bird-like cloud as a sign that I'm going to see some really cool birds.
Imagine how many cool bird discoveries there would be if everyone knew how to identify birds. Everyone would know exactly what bird they're looking at. Like, "Woah, hey, check out this new bird species I found today. I know it's a new species because it's nothing like any other bird. Ha ha. Yeah. I know birds."
Here's an 'extinct' bird, the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. I know they're still out and about...somewhere. Also, I'm going to Oklahoma tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get some neat bird pictures.
Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Okay, so, I had a really weird dream last night that kinda turned into a nightmare. It was morning, and I woke up to the sound of a huge flock of starlings, so I got up and looked out the window and, as suspected, there was a huge flock of starlings, but then it just kept getting bigger until the sky was covered in birds. It wasn't just starlings anymore, it was crazy. The world got really dark, but once the birds passed everything seemed pretty normal. EXCEPT!!! There were all sorts of cool birds all over the place, a really rare bird came to the bird feeder, I can't really remember what it was, but it was so cool. I grabbed my camera and tried to take pictures of it. Key word: tried. My camera wasn't working and the rare bird flew away. Then I woke up feeling really disappointed.
So, my computer isn't really working so I won't be able to post many pictures for a while. I can post pictures from my phone, but they won't be as good as the ones from my camera. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
I saw a bunch of fireflies last night. They're definitely out too early.
(Photos are not mine, I just got them off of Google) Okay. These things are NOT bees. All of them are hoverflies. Flies have two wings, bees have four. I keep seeing pictures of hoverflies with people being all like, "Haha, look at this cute bee. She's so great, I think I made a friend today!" Well, guess what? That, "Cute bee" is actually a fly DISGUISED as a bee.
Oh heck something happened to the killdeer nest. The eggs are missing and the parents are nowhere to be found. There's no sign of the eggs having hatched either. I just saw the mother yesterday evening and now she's gone, along with her mate.
