Dorcas grinned. “I agree. Magic is absolutely stunning. I love not having to hide it here, ever. Anywhere I go, I can have my wand out, and nobody bats an eye.”
“Elves,” she said. “I’d like to meet an elf. Although I doubt they’re as cool as the hobbits.” She nudged him playfully, a grin on her face. “So you were at the nursery right? How long have you been here and doing that? It must have been a shock for you arriving here. I know it was for me.”
Dorcas’ comment made Sam chuckle. He could never fathom comparing Elves and Hobbits; it would be like comparing a shovel to an ephemeral garden. The elves were magnificent, and he felt lucky to this day that he had the chance to see them with his own eyes, and stay in their lands even though it was only for a short while.
“It was a dream of mine for a long time to meet them. I’m glad I got the chance. Nothing in this world could ever match the beauty of them, except my Rosie of course.” He smiled then, thinking of what she may be doing a world away. “I do work there, yes. I own it, matter of fact. I have since I got here, but I’ve been tending plants my whole life. Not much change except now I get paid for it.”
Sam took a moment to figure out how to answer her last statement. He still wasn’t sure he had completely adapted to this new way of life. Most of the things here were still quite foreign. “I’m getting by, I suppose. It's a very different way of living, but I manage. The community sense has been the strangest. In the Shire, everyone knew everyone else, and was always happy to lend a helping hand, but I haven’t seen too much of that here. Not in the same way, if you understand me.”

Catra nodded slowly. “It’s the most gorgeous name in the world,” xe said, and then giggled. “Fitting too, as I a-dore Adora.” It was stupid, but it made her laugh a little bit.
It was an easy silence between them as they walked, and xe turned toward Midna again as she spoke.
“Thanks,” xe said. “I suppose if it happened for you it might for me too. I mean, I’ve only been here a couple of days. And I’m certain Adora is searching for me. If anyone can find a way here, it’s her and her friends.”
It was an interesting thought, thinking of Adora, Bow, and Glimmer here with xem. To be honest, Catra didn’t really care where xe were, as long as Adora was with xem. This strange little town would do just fine if Adora showed up. Xe allowed xemself to feel a semblance of hope.
Catra’s affectionate look made Midna smile a little to herself. She liked seeing people happily in love, even if she didn’t have anyone of her own. Midna was willing to play a lot of parts, but that of the crotchety stick in the mud wasn’t on the list.
The woods were quiet as they walked back. Midna couldn’t say she minded the companionable silence. She rarely minded when it was quiet anymore. It was so rare she got the chance for a break.
“I hope she does come along. I’d hate to think you feel stranded out here on your own. I’ve been there and I know what it feels like. Not fun...” Midna shrugged a little. Idly, she wondered who was searching for her. There had to be dozens of guards and patrols out looking. A queen didn't just up and disappear, yet here she was.
Midna looked down at her walking partner, trying for a reassuring smile, and hoping it didn’t come off as too sinister. “And if you need anyone around in the meantime, I’m usually around doing this or that. Not too busy for another friend hanging around. No pressure though.”

Catra couldn’t help but smile a little bit. Midna was indeed perking them up, a task which had felt impossible an hour ago.
Xe felt a bit odd when Midna linked arms with xem. It was rather intimate, at least in Catra’s opinion. Xe weren’t used to a lot of physical touch from people that weren’t Adora. But it was nice, and xe let Midna lead xem, enjoying the path and the silence.
Xe weren’t suprised though when Midna spoke up. Midna definitely had a way about her. She seemed to be good at drawing Catra out of xir shell.
“Still at the B&B,” Catra said. “I hadn’t bothered looking for a place of my own, given that I was determined to get the hell out of here. But I suppose I should start looking now that I’m most definitely stuck.”
Understanding what Catra meant, Midna nodded. Everything about arriving in this place was stressful, and she couldn’t blame them for stubbornly trying to abandon the place.
“I suppose you should,” she agreed. “Places here aren’t hard to come by. There's a bunch of different options, and someone is always looking for a roommate. I’m sure you’ll find something soon enough. You can at least make yourself comfortable while you try and plan a break out or while you wait for your friends to show up.”
It wasn't long before they were nearing one of the roads into town. There wasn't anyone on the street that Midna could see, but that was to be expected at this time of night. The moon was high, and the hour was getting late. This was admittedly her favorite way to see Sallow Hills— blanketed by the soft glow of the moon. It was the closest to the feeling of home she could get.

THE WOMAN WAS DRESSED INTERESTINGLY, TO SAY THE LEAST. not that zsasz had any place to talk with his nearly all-leather get up. Hers was certainly more fitting for a Welsh countryside town than his own, but he’d never been one to mind standing out in a crowd. In fact, it usually was quite the opposite. Zsasz knew how to use shadows and darkness to his aid, but also when to draw the eye of everyone around him.
HE PUT THE BOX OF GOOD ON THE COUNTER, raising a brow bone at kai who seemed to look up at him in question. He sighed. He supposed he and Oswald were spoiling the dragon a bit too much. ❝ Don’t you have a register to guard? ❞ Kai let out a snort, but did turn and head over to the small, purple pillow beside the cash register. With that, Zsasz turned his attention back to the woman.
HE TOOK THE KNIFE, CAREFULLY MOVING IT TO NOT CUT EITHER OF THEM. ❝ yes well, i suppose the knives either moved in transport or my shop assistant was messing around in the back and hoped i wouldn’t notice. Either way, thank you. If you feel I need to prove myself proficient at weapons, I’m always happy to give a demonstration. ❞ He spun the knife in his hand, getting it into a more comfortable grip. Quickly, he took aim at the board he had across the store for just this and sent the knife flying. It landed in the bullseye with a thunk. He gave a flourish of a half bow. ❝ Now, is there anything I can assist you with? ❞

Yennefer couldn’t help but to watch the dragon retreat to its spot beside the register. It was a mistake in the end, as the sight once again took her mind elsewhere. She was quickly brought back to the moment when he spoke once again.
She wasn’t sure if it had been the intention, but she wasn't intimidated or startled. In fact, she was far from it. For the first time since she had arrived in Sallow Hills, she was hit with a startling amount of familiarity. The way he dressed, the dramatics, the set up and contents of the shop: they reminded her of home. She could’ve sworn something identical had happened with Lambert when she was visiting Kaer Morhen once, but she didn’t want to dwell on it. She had business to do.
“Impressive. Though, I was making a joke.” A smirk grew on her face as she met his eyes, and there was a quirk to her brow in sudden intrigue of the man before her. Yennefer nonchalantly crossed her arms in front of her as she looked between him and the blade now protruding from the wall. “I’m new here. I don’t have any... guarantee of personal protection, and I should like to remedy that. What would you recommend?”

Great job, jackass.
What had transpired in that group chat was a mistake and one he knew he would have to pay for in months or even years to come. He should have just shut his phone off and gone to sleep but no of course he had to dig his grave deeper than it already had been to begin with.
Standing outside of Caffi Rhees, he looked down at his phone trying to come up with something to write to Yen but nothing seemed to come to him. His phone found a new home inside his pocket and he was about to leave when he saw her. His heart dropped. What should he do? Should he approach her or leave her be?
“Yennefer”
A quick cup of coffee and some fried food, and she would be fine. Yennefer of Vengerberg Wilczynski was always fucking fine. She was nursing a slight hangover, and wanted to do something nice for herself however small a thing it may be. She could eat quickly and curl up in bed and sleep this whole thing off.
She was attempting to sleep off far more than the hangover.
It was cold as she stepped outside (it was always bloody cold here), yet she was white hot with rage when she saw him. Geralt's words had cut deep into her, making her feel a rage that had been long latent in her chest. His words were calculated, cruel, as only someone who knew you to your core could be. ‘Not her daughter’ as if she hadn't trained Ciri, protected her, guided her through her life when nobody else would or could. She was so angry, she was ready to tear his throat out with her fingers alone. He damn well knew what Ciri was to her.
When Yennefer focused on him, she felt the ley lines of chaos divert and pool around her feet, ready to take her under. She pushed it back. She wouldn’t lose control. Not in public. Setting her jaw, she let him approach. Despite her size, her presence, swirling with confidence and energy, made her feel much bigger than she actually was.
In that moment she didn’t care about timelines or magic. She didn’t care about fate or destiny. She didn’t care about wishes or history. She hated him. A burning and furious hatred she hadn't felt for anyone, save the sad excuse of a mother and stepfather she had as a girl.
She could barely meet his eyes when he approached, afraid if she did that she would spiral out of control. Her voice was low, scathing, as she spoke, “What. do. you. want?”
THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT
@ofmvoonlight my beloveds<3
I think I just saw Samwise Gamgee (he/him, cis man, 39). he’s a canon character from lord of the rings. have you heard he remembers most things from his previous life? he appeared here in June 2021 after having a quiet night in with his partners in bag-end. now he’s working as the owner of the Dwarven Nursery. still, he does have that heart of gold, summer rain shower, green-thumb vibe about him.
[allen leech. more information at bottom of post]
“But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.”
--The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers
Can you tell me your name?
“Samwise Gamgee, but my friends call me Sam

What’s the last thing you remember?
“I was just finishing the washing up after dinner [post returning from the quest]-- talking to Rosie and Frodo you see. I think... oh doesn’t matter.
We have a history of memory loss here. Do you feel as if you may be missing some memories?
“I wager there are some things missing. There's a lot that's fuzzy.
Have you found a job here in Sallow Hills?
“I took up running the Dwarven Nursery. I’ve always enjoyed working with greenery.
What was the strangest thing you saw before arriving here?
“I think its best not to talk about it.
What traits would your friends give to you?
“Brave, I think. Eager to learn, but not always to act. Levelheaded.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
“My old Gaffer always said ‘keep your nose out of trouble, and no trouble will come to you.’ I try to live by that.

Upon hearing this familiar voice, Jaskier tensed, he took a deep swig of his drink and composed himself. Turning to face her with wide arms “Witch, how can I be of service to you this fine day?” he smiled on the outside but his day was not fine, Jaskier was never comfortable with his emotions outside of his art and this was something very few knew.
His previous conversation with Geralt hurt him. Deeply. He was angry and defeated, just as he felt when he was left atop that mountain in Cairngorn, it was a feeling he wished would never return and yet here it is. he faltered for a moment and spoke plainly to the sorceress. “You know that your boyfriend is a bit of an arse sometimes. Don’t you?” he leant back against the bar and picked up his drink and swigged again, it may not be a lasting solution but the burning did dull his senses.
Yennefer had thought it was more likely for Skellige to fall into the sea before she saw the day where her and Jaskier were friendly. She wrapped her arms tightly around him, careful to keep the contents of her drink inside of the glass. He smelled the same as he always did. It reminded her of home.
“You can never be of any service, save cursing our ears and flattering random women,” the witch teased, letting go of him. “Yes, well, he seems to have made it *quite clear that he is no such thing to me, but yes. I am aware that he is a complete and utter arse of a human being.”
Copying his action, she took a drink of her own. Geralt was the exact thing she was trying to get off of her mind, but she supposed commiserating would work for the time being. “Should've known I’d find you here if you showed up. Been here long?”
⌘ Follow Up Questionnaire of Midna Twili⌘
Restate your name and living situation.
midna | Midna Twili. I live in an townhouse on Duffryn Way on my own.
How long have you been in Sallow Hills?
m | I’ve been here for four-ish months-- since February.
How well would you say you are handling your homesickness?
m | I’m not particularly homesick at all. I miss my people, of course, but this place is much more exciting and freeing than the Twilight often allowed me to be. Besides, Link is here, and that helps quell any of the nerves.
Would you ever want to leave?
m | I’m not sure. I don’t want to leave Link and Zelda behind again. They’re my best friends.
How would you describe your satisfaction with the town itself?
m | Its a fine place. Not my first choice, but its decent enough. I do wish there were more fun things to do around here, though. You spook one resident, you’ve spooked them all, ya know?
Any other comments, questions, or other tidbits you would like to add?
m | Nope! I really don’t have the time to waste thinking of bs to add to your little question packet.
