REMUS FELT RELIEF WITH THE MAN. he wasn’t asking many questions, and was willing to help him through this. Remus was more worried about the potion part of the wolfsbane than the plant upkeep. He’d always been better at herbology than potions. But raising plants on your own wasn’t the same as being walked through the steps by a professor.
HE GAVE THE MAN A SMALL, THANKFUL SMILE. ❝ i’d really appreciate that. I don’t want to jip you out of your money or plants though. If I kill them, I’m happy to buy new ones. ❞ He carefully ran his fingers around the pot of the wolfsbane plants. It was strange, being reliant on a poison to help him. He watched the valerian plant get placed down as well. ❝ Really. I really really appreciate it. I don’t have a brown thumb, but I’ve heard mint can be a temperamental plant. ❞
TWO PLANTS HERE. no price tags. ❝ How much will it be for these two and say - the mint and sage this trip? ❞
Generous as always, Sam shook his head a bit in a dismissive gesture. He had said it was for medical reasons, and a plant or two wasn’t going to cost him much at all. The Nursery was a decently popular place, after all.
“Ah, it's alright. I don’ mind it. ‘The world could always do with more good in it’ my old Gaffer used to say. Besides, it keeps the customers coming back, you know?” With a kind smile he began to make his way behind the counter. “It isn’t too temperamental if you know how to handle it correctly, you see. Alls it needs is room to branch out. It can get a bit out of hand if you aren’t careful. It likes to branch out all over.”
After a brief demonstration on how to handle each of the plants on the counter, Sam tidied up the bits of dirt that had escaped the pots. Dusting the mess into a small waste bin kept behind the counter, he looked the items over. He pressed a few buttons on the register before looking back at him. “Right, should be 36 even.”

THAT HAD MERLIN INTRIGUED . he’d met many people of different levels of magick and belief throughout his centuries on earth . Even more in the short time ey’d been in town here . Whenever someone brought up something he hadn’t heard of before , he couldn’t help but get excited .
❝ THAT’S REALLY COOL ! i mean , really really cool . I’ve never met someone from a shadow realm before . The Other Realm , yes , but the Shadow Realm . ❞ Ey had so many questions . Was it like the Other Realm ? How many Realms resided so close to their own ? She was blocked from her Realm just like the magical beings were blocked from the Other Realm . ❝ I’m from Earth , and it’s pretty similar to this but not quite . I’m not sure if it’s just this town or if I’ve been pulled to some alternate version of the world I know , if that makes sense to you . ❞
The reaction her little trick with the shadows elicited from Merlin made Midna giggle. It was rare for people to get so excited about them, but she wasn’t complaining. Most people from the Twilight had some form of shadow manipulation ability, meaning it was quite a common thing to do where she came from. “Thank you, thank you,” she said playfully, giving a mock bow, “I’ll be here all night.”
Midna had never heard of this “Other Realm” before, but went with it anyway. It would stupidly selfish to believe that there was only one alternate realm to her own, she supposed.
“It does make sense. This isn’t exactly-- Well, this isn’t exactly my first time being chucked into an alternate realm, unable to get back to my own. I think at this point I should accept that its just something that happens to me,” she laughed lighthearted, but felt the statement settle into her chest a little more uncomfortably than she had planned. “I’ve never been to Earth before, though. Or even heard of it. I would hope its a little less cold than this place is.”
redainianbard:
“MY STUP… you know what? I can’t really argue with you there, wish I could because you know I would take any excuse to argue with you but I can’t, but what my ‘Stupid show tunes’ give people? Hope, Adventure, a look at the world outside of their little bubble, one day when I am long gone people will hear my songs and think of how great those adventures must have been.”
The bard sighs, and took a swig again to focus himself, “I do agree with you, Ciri doesn’t deserve this. She’s been through enough. and she’s still just a kid.” Jaskier may appear like a self-agrandising, pompus, douchebag on the outside but he truly cared for other people, that why he became the Sandpiper and helped elves escape Cintra.
It made her chuckle to hear him agree. Those ballads could be gods awful sometimes, especially when they were stuck on an expedition and there was no escaping the strumming of his lute. As he went, Yennefer gave him an extremely exasperated look. She took a drink in hopes it would help her to get through it.
It didn’t.
“Yeah,” she replied softly. She had wanted to protect Ciri from the cruelty of the world as much as she possibly could. Yennefer hadn't wanted the girl to feel even a modicum of the same things she had when she was small. It would be up to the pair of them to ensure the whole Geralt situation didn’t end up too badly.
“So…” Clearing her throat, attempting to dispel some of the awkwardness between them, she continued, “Where are you staying? Have you been, erm, alright?”
ofmvoonlight:
“I don’t know” he told her. Because that was the truth. He didn’t know what he wanted and especially not now when his memories had come back and the last thing he saw before ending up here was Yennefer taking Ciri away from him. He didn’t know what he wanted and he didn’t know what he felt towards the other because everything was just so confusing.
Geralt had never been the best when it came to communication. Misunderstandings and clumsy words was more his cup of tea and once again that had manifested in the worst of ways. Because here he was standing in front of the woman he loved trying to apologize but no words came out. Because he didn’t know if she would actually hear him out or if she would curse him for all eternity. Not that he would ever blame her if that is what she would do. Kinda hard to put the blame on someone who had just gotten hurt by the actions of a clumsy man.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, the white haired Witcher shook his head. “Actually that is a lie. What I want is you. Always” clearing his throat, he closed his eyes. That way he could actually talk to her and not feel dread and shame wash over him. “I have regained my memories. And I had been foolish enough to think that the last memory I would have of home would be a good one” it had been much better if that had been the case.
“My last memory is watching you take Ciri away from me. I didn’t get the chance to reach you in time to stop it from happening because I woke up here immediately after with no memories whatsoever. I know that doesn’t excuse how I acted in the public group chat. I just.. wanted to explain myself” he felt so uncomfortable standing here talking to her. He knew how Yennefer could get when she was upset. But then again he did deserve it.
“I should have never said the things I said to you and for that I apologize. That’s all I wanted to tell you. I will leave you alone from now on. Once again I am sorry for not only wasting your time but also hurting you in the process” he finally opened his eyes and looked at her, feeling his heart ache for the woman standing before him. But this was for the best. She deserved happiness and if this was the way she could possibly achieve it then so be it.

Yennefer didn’t think it was physically possible to roll her eyes any harder than she just had. She had always known Geralt to be a fool on the best of days, but this was something else entirely. How the hell was she supposed to keep her cool when, by his words, he didn’t even know what he wanted from her?
It turned out it was possible for her to roll her eyes harder, as she managed it the second time he spoke. Of course he wanted her. They were bound by destiny. It was the same wanting she had for him. But right now, she was far too wounded to even consider trying to dig that feeling up.
There was one thing he said which suddenly made her understand. He remembered actions recent to him, but nearly five years past to her. That explained why she didn’t know what he had been on about. Still, it wasn't enough.
“So you think it’s appropriate to cause a scene in front of the entire bloody town? You think, having full understanding of what your words really meant to me, that you can play the victim card? You think you can explain away the pain you caused me with some shitty half baked apology!?” Each of her questions got progressively louder, but she quieted down when she caught the look of a stranger passing by. Yennefer always lashed out when she was hurt. It was one of her less appealing qualities. There were very few who could escape her wrath when she did. “And now, after all of that, and everything I did for you, you don’t even have the balls to fight to win me back? Some Witcher you are.”
Her jaw tightened as she looked back at him, not wavering in her stance. And yet there it was. Longing, regret, hope, and fear.

HER EYES WERE RATHER PRETTY. in the sense that dean would probably end up drawing them, or drawing something inspired by them. It wasn’t every day that you met someone with purple eyes, though truth be told he was surprised it didn’t happen more often in the Wizarding World. Magic would make it so easy. ❝ I mean, you add on that the no-nose guy was also the worst kind of person and started two wars - yeah no ballads written about him. Stories to scare children and war songs, maybe. ❞
ART DID COME FROM FEAR AS MUCH BEAUTY, but the art that came from fear was so often kept locked away. Dean knew it too well, from personal experience. The nightmarish drawings in his sketchpad that he never flipped back to from the months on the run. From the months after getting back home.
❝ WANDS DON’T SEEM POPULAR IN THIS TOWN, ❞ dean said, taking his time to feel over each piece that was there. ❝ Which I get, but it’s kinda a shame. There’s a lot of beauty in wand work. I find beauty in all kinds of magic, though. Suppose that’s why I have this project. ❞
Yennefer shrugged, because in all honesty she knew very little about the composition of music. She had never paid it too much mind, though there were a few ballads written about her back home. Dean’s attention wasn't the first captured by her vibrant eyes and dark hair, and his wouldn’t be the last.
“Personally,” the woman said as she adjusted a few items on a nearby shelf, “I’ve never felt wands to be of much use for the form of magic I channel. They limit my capability. But, I have met a few who were aided by it. Many people, and I use that word loosely here, in this town, they don’t just use magic, but they are magic. A concept I, myself, find very interesting.”
She looked to him, then to the display he was combing through. She had never been fond of wand work, so it was intriguing to glimpse even a small part of the process. “It sounds a quite interesting concept to make a piece on. I applaud it-- or I would, if I was the applauding type.”

Catra was so shocked by the woman approaching xem that xir mouth gaped open, staring. The bright orange hair and the height on her was rather alarming, especially since Catra had thought xe were alone.
And then she sat down next to xem. Catra scooted away a little, not wanting to be so close. Xe stared at her, words failing xem. Catra wasn’t fond of the forced familiarity. If xe had been thinking straight, xe might have recognized the stranger as a kindred spirit—after all, this person had been just as desperate to leave as xe were.
Catra stared harshly at her, not answering any of her questions.
“Who are you and why were you watching me?” xe finally spoke, xir voice coming out harsh. “Don’t you know spying on somebody while they’re having a breakdown is a breath of privacy?”
Midna had never been the best at words of comfort. She hadn’t had many friends growing up (mostly due to her royal status, and partly due to her lack of caring), so she didn’t have too much practice. Fiddling with the charm on one of her bracelets, Midna shrugged.
“I’m Midna,” she stated simply. “And I wasn't intending to watch you, silly, I was making my way about the forest when I heard you, and came to see what was wrong. I haven’t met someone else out here before.” Her explanation was genuine. She didn’t have much use for stalking people around the woods, especially those she had never met before.
After a moment, she continued as she smoothed down the fabric of her skirt, “I wasn't thinking how weird it is to see someone like me just melt out of the shadows and interrupt you like that. I only wanted to help, but it seems my actions were misplaced. I can leave if that would please you.”
picturedspells:
Catra couldn’t help but smile a little bit. Midna was indeed perking them up, a task which had felt impossible an hour ago.
Xe felt a bit odd when Midna linked arms with xem. It was rather intimate, at least in Catra’s opinion. Xe weren’t used to a lot of physical touch from people that weren’t Adora. But it was nice, and xe let Midna lead xem, enjoying the path and the silence.
Xe weren’t suprised though when Midna spoke up. Midna definitely had a way about her. She seemed to be good at drawing Catra out of xir shell.
“Still at the B&B,” Catra said. “I hadn’t bothered looking for a place of my own, given that I was determined to get the hell out of here. But I suppose I should start looking now that I’m most definitely stuck.”
Understanding what Catra meant, Midna nodded. Everything about arriving in this place was stressful, and she couldn’t blame them for stubbornly trying to abandon the place.
“I suppose you should,” she agreed. “Places here aren’t hard to come by. There's a bunch of different options, and someone is always looking for a roommate. I’m sure you’ll find something soon enough. You can at least make yourself comfortable while you try and plan a break out or while you wait for your friends to show up.”
It wasn't long before they were nearing one of the roads into town. There wasn't anyone on the street that Midna could see, but that was to be expected at this time of night. The moon was high, and the hour was getting late. This was admittedly her favorite way to see Sallow Hills— blanketed by the soft glow of the moon. It was the closest to the feeling of home she could get.

Catra blushed bright red at Midna’s giggle, feeling even more embarrassed, but xe hoped the dark of the night before them hid xir flushed cheeks. Xe cleared xir throat, trying not to let it get to xem.
“That does sound beautiful,” xe said, once the embarrassment had faded a bit. “People who are afraid of the dark are usually not the best ones to take judgement from anyway.”
Catra swallowed, not making eye contact as Midna became more serious. “Yeah, I’ve got… I’ve got my Adora back home. I mean- my girlfriend,” they said. “I mean, there’s friends too, I guess. Her friends sort of accepted me into their-” Catra made a face, clearly showing her disdain for the words they were about to say “best friend squad. But Adora’s the one I want to get back to the most. She’s…” everything to me.
Midna shrugged off xer comment. At this point, she couldn’t, or wouldn't, judge people who were scared of the dark. It was natural in Hylians and humans alike. She supposed it could’ve been part of the curse the goddesses put on her people so long ago— to not only cast them out, but to make everyone afraid. She didn’t like that notion.
“That's a pretty name,” Midna replied softly. “She sounds like a wonderful person. Missing her must… I know what its like to miss someone like that.”
She didn’t say anything else for a little while, her hands playing with the soft fabric of her skirt. “I won’t say it gets easier, because it doesn't. But you learn how to cope. Funny enough, this place brought me back to the person I was missing, so maybe it’ll bring her here for you too.”
