Howdy newbies and welcome to Tumblr, it takes a bit of setup to get this site running well so here’s what works for me. One of the neat things about this site is that its a different experience for everyone, so tailor these settings towards what you want from this site. 

New XKit 

If we take the 'burn Plaithus route' even if it isn't literal, will that lock us out of from romancing Sabir or Syfyn?

It depends on how you "Burn Plaithus Down" but as a generalized statement, kinda for Sabir, maybe for Syfyn.

It's hard to explain b/c choosing to burn down Plaithus isn't automatically going to make MC a villain, and they don't automatically have to be a dick/manipulative/evil to everyone around them just b/c they chose that as their goal. There's still a lot of choices to be made within that choice.

If you literally plan to destroy the entirety of Plaithus, that's not something you'll get to act on until later in the game. Because of that, you can romance Sabir normally and then, once you reach that point for MC to have that dark turning point, Sabir will leave MC. However, that's not just the end of everything-- the game doesn't abruptly cut off the relationship and then act like you and Sabir were never a thing except for a few throwaway lines here and there. You'll still be on Sabir's route, but it'll be about Sabir struggling with his feelings and trying to convince MC to not do what they're going to do.

As for Syfyn, you'll me able to manipulate her into agreeing with what you do and following your lead unless you've encouraged her to be more independent and think for herself-- and then there's a chance she'll fight back against you and end things, and then it'll follow a similar path as Sabir's romance.

However, it's not just Sabir or Syfyn who will dislike MC's desire to destroy Plaithus. The only ones who might actually be okay with it are Freedom, Jost, and Amilia depending on how you've manipulated their stats-- otherwise Vethna and Nikke will always disapprove of MC destroying Plaithus.

01.10.23: The first part of chapter 2 is now available to play over on itch.io. This includes the Blackwater route only. To access the new content, ensure that you choose to stay in Blackwater rather than leave for Highfell. Saves should work - though I advise you to still keep a save at the end of chapter 1, since any later updates to chapter 2 will require you to play from the start of the chapter again.

Along with the new content, various edits include:

The companions will now introduce themselves with their pronouns, as well as various other characters - Branwen, Mal, Hawkell, etc.

Edited the input process for hunters that use no pronouns. This should help clean up any clunky sentences where the companions talk to/about the hunter as well as allow for the hunter to properly introduce themself with just their name.

A new codex entry on Magic.

Alchemists can now choose to have hand tattoos (though the continuity for this has yet to be fixed).

New content warnings include animal death. This is only in one path, and it is avoidable, relying entirely on the player choosing whether it happens or not.

Demo Update Chapter 2 Part 3

Shenanigans aside, as previously stated this update includes just over 170,000 words, which covers Peyton, Peidyn, Abelyn, and Anadora’s Romance, Platonic, and Friendship Routes (where you can still see their scenes without being on their specific path).

The update will have Broken your save files so make sure to start a fresh game.

Update Notes and Details Below:

There are now four accessibility settings, some old, a few new.

The Unicode Hints, and Panic Switch you should all be familiar with by now. The Script Display and Weights and Measures Switches, not so much.

There is a full explanation in the demo, but in brief:

The Scripts Display switch gives you the ability to swap between using Old English letters like the wynn Ƿ, and using the standard Roman Alphabet. It also changes the display of certain words to match their pronunciation with a British English accent. Since I'm well aware that only a minority of my readership have such an accent I've also included a rough transcript of each word using the IPA on each of the word's journal page.

The Weights and Measures switch allows you to switch between the in story measurements system and the metric system.

All the accessibility switches can be accessed at any point during the game from the Stats Screen Menu.

There are gaps present in the Stats Screen Journal Pages. I ran out of time and brain power before the release deadline -_-

I'll try and get a mini patch out by the end of the week to fix this.

OK, so I was messing around with chatGPT is an AI model that’s truly terrifying (try it here), and I made it write haikus for me. I’m not sure if this is amusing or scary, but it’s also ironic that in the process of registering an account with ChatGPT I was asked to identify photos with chimneys to prove that I’m not a bot, and failed 3 times.

Larkin Has Been Updated with New Routes!

Hoohoo! Happy Larkin Update Day Folks! The game has been updated today with a total of about 50k words on my end and about 12k on yours! Bringing our grand total up to 407k words! <3

In this update visit Nash for Lunch, (with Rose or not), argue with an old lady at the casino, make some decisions about your character's past and get a little Ace lore.

As a note, the update is available for all players but expands with the most content to those who have either visited Nash or Rose and Wyatt on their second night in Larkin. (For a detailed map on how to get the most of the new content, I'll drop it under a read more.)

I've done some bug fixes as well, and cleaned up some typos in previous chapters, thank you to all who've reported!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Today’s bad joke is that I’m back from the grim beyond and have updated Mind Blind’s public demo with the rewritten version and Chapter 9 (mostly because a lot has changed and the old version bothered me). I’m almost finished writing the game, which has 20 chapters total (also over 20 endings if you include all the variations, because I have no self-control).

That being said, it’s still April Fool’s Day, so this link has a 50/50 chance of being a Rick Roll. Maybe I didn’t actually update the demo. Maybe I’m just evil.
