Family vacation!
After the long journey. Crimson and the rest of the colony had to make their way to find some kind of shelter for the night. Thankfully for them, they came across one of the underwater caves that formed within the ocean floors. It was a nice change of pace to see some other colors other than blue all day from walking throughout the ocean. Many of the other decapods had already begun getting ready to rest up for the night, as they would need all the energy they needed to start the long walk to the new island again. After all, the migration was still in effect. For all they knew, they still had a long way to go.
Crimson was keeping watch over the many others she had promised to keep safe. Ever since she was assigned the leader for the migration, she's always had the deep sense of dread. The dread of one day failing them. Making her feel as if one misstep could mean the end of their entire race. She had all of this responsibility...for what? Why is all of this on her? She knew that she was selected for...SOME reason, but she couldn't get it...
God. This was too much. All of this. They nearly avoided an encounter with one of those floating shadows up on the surface. For all they knew, the next step could be their last. There might not be an island by the time they make it. It'll be too late. We don't know. Do you? Do you?! Do you know what to do?! For the love of God, tell me! I need to know! I can't let them down! They're depending on me! All of them are! WHY ISN'T ANYONE SAYING ANYTHIN-
"Crimson?"
A soft voice rang out in the swirling mind of Crimson as she was snapped out of her whirlpool of thoughts. Blinking a couple of times, she then looked over to her side, seeing one of her close comrades. The Strawberry Crab of the group. Her eyes being almost always closed, and although not many have seen them...Crimson could tell there was worry in them.
"Oh...Fraise...I."
Crimson stuttered, trying to cover up her worry with words. But Fraise just raised her claw. telling Crimson to just save it. Crimson slightly winced, knowing that she'd been caught being silent in her own thoughts of panic.
"...Dear. Are you alright?"
She asked, tilting her head to the side as she sat down, tucking in her four legs inward like some sort of bird. Crimson looked off into the distance, not wanting to make eye contact with the concerned caretaker. For all she knew...Fraise just saw Crimson gripping her knees.
"Yeah. I just...I'm just thinking. We nearly had an encounter...didn't we?"
Crimson cringed, upset that they nearly got killed. And on the third day of the travel, no less. Fraise noticed this...trying to hide her face even more underneath her balaclava. Crimson's two whiskers slightly twitching. Fraise then let out a sigh as she then began to take off the basket she was carrying. putting it up to her chest.
"...The little ones are doing well."
Fraise commented as she looked down, seeing the many crab eggs she carried. Some had already grown eyes, but some were still in the stage of trying to gain a consciousness. Crimson looked down at them, thinking back at her own childhood memories. When she was just an egg, she felt her mother holding onto her soft, jello-like body. The first feeling of the sunlight slightly seeping from the ocean surface. She then looked back up at Fraise, who was cradling the basket.
"...That's good. I'm glad to hear that."
She simply replied. She couldn't imagine the burden Fraise had. The responsibility to carry all of these children. She was holding the new generation right in a little basket. Crimson then began to feel a bit ridiculous. She thought she had the biggest responsibility...but really digesting this...she felt as if she was pushed down a step. Crimson then thought to herself...as she then rubbed the back of her neck.
"...So...this is, uh...a weird question to ask, but...are any of these...yours?"
Crimson asked, tilting her head a bit. She didn't know why she wanted to ask that. Sure, crabs had the tendency to lay a bunch of eggs, but some didn't make it. Before Crimson could apologize for asking such a question, she was interrupted.
"No."
Fraise nonchalantly replied as she continued to cradle the basket of eggs. Crimson nearly choked on her words. She didn't expect that. She would at least think one of them was at least one of her children. Hesitant, she decided to keep quiet, but Fraise continued.
"Many of the parents of these little ones sadly got taken. So I took up the responsibility of taking care of them. Some are with us, some aren't. So. I wish to take them to the new land, where they can live happily..."
Fraise praised, as she looked down at them, some squeaking a little bit.
Crimson then looked down with her. Shocked. All of this...all of these little ones. Some didn't have parents? She nearly had a bit of vomit coming up at the thought of any of those disgusting land creatures taking them away. And yet...she felt an odd sense of comfort, knowing that she was the one who would take these same small ones to safety.
"...So...you're like their mother in a way, huh?"
Fraise was a bit surprised at the comment but laughed a little. She then let out a sigh as she then looked back down at the basket.
"Well...I am for one of them."
Crimson's eyebrows raised. So she DID have a child? Only one? Crimson then looked over into the basket. looking over the thousands of eggs.
"Wait, really? Which one?"
She asked curiously. Fraise simply chuckled as she pointed to the near corner of the basket. As Crimson followed the claw's direction, she saw an egg. But this one was much more different. It was much smaller than the rest and had a slight hue of... pink? Most of the eggs were baby blue and apple red. Blinking a couple of times...she found comfort in seeing such a small life. One that would be born in a new, safer place, away from all of the chaos.
"She's a girl."
Fraise answered; it was as if she could read Crimson's mind. Crimson looked down and asked...
"...Did you name her?"
Fraise simply smiled and replied...
"Yes..."
"I'm thinking of..."
"Kandy."
What would Celina's favorite map be :D?
Oh, now that is a good question! I feel that Li feels more comfortable on maps like Applejack, Brew, Hardwood and Harvest. They are around nature and in areas far away from complicated concrete buildings like Highpass or Turbine. She also loves warm and calm climates, it reminds her of her old home
If you have sharp eye you can sometimes spot her on 2Fort too!
Hey! I have question! What crab squad thinks about Celina? What they like/dislike about her. What is their opinion about her?
(Ya can write, no need for artwork if you don't want to ✌️)
Alright! Time for me to break my fingers and overanalyze my own characters :D Kandy🍬 & Celina🧣 Kandy is stuck to Celina like glue. Ever since Li first interacted with her, which was just her returning her to Crimson, Kandy had grown an attachment, like how a baby duck imprints on the first thing they see. If Kandy sees Li across the room, she will waddle her way over to her, even if she doesn't realize she could end up being seen or, worse, squished. Her favorite part about Li would oddly be her hair, as she would just like how fluffy it looks. Kandy would sometimes even draw for Celina, whether that be pictures of Li herself or even just objects she's seen. Kandy loves to hug but always forgets her spikes, so that's sometimes a bit of an ouchie. The only thing she would dislike would be whenever Li would have to go. She'd sob a little bit, not a full-out tantrum, but just a slight sniffle. If Li were to knit Kandy anything, Kandy would be seen holding onto it in her sleep the next day. She's just a little baby after all, and she doesn't know the real dangers of the world. Coralie💙 & Celina🧣 Oof, boy. Where to start? Coralie would be secretly jealous of Celina since she has extremely low self-esteem (SHUT UP NO I DON'T! STOP SPREADING LIES!) So she would do all kinds of things to try and "one-up" her. Coralie would also most likely chat up a storm as well. Always telling her made-up stories on how she went on epic borrowing journeys. But they were anything but. If Celina were to give Coralie a gift, Coralie would accept the gift but then go on about, "Oh! You shouldn't have! Really, you shouldn't! I have 20 of these!" But next thing you know, she treasures that gift like it's her life. BUT OH. IF CELINA DOES THE WHOLE "Alright. Show me" whenever Coralie starts to go off about her courage. Coralie would just be like
Anthropophobia at its finest. Brother Arañito 😈 & Celina🧣 Oof. And here I thought Coralie's and Celina's interaction would be kind of rough! Arañito loves pulling pranks on anybody, and I mean ANYBODY. So Li would be on the pranking list. And it would usually end with either one of them going through a near-death experience. Due to him being only 10, he would be seen more as an annoying cousin. But don't get it twisted; at the end of the day, Arañito is just a kid who wants the world to be a bit more silly and less "we're all going to die." And the whole "a lucky as heck child and that one adult friend who was tasked with looking after them and ends up in a wacky situation trying to save them" that you mentioned in my ask? Yup. SUMS IT UP. LMAO. But in the end, Arañito secretly does think Li is pretty badass. He would even prank BLU Sniper by hiding his jar lids and tell Li about it, trying to get her to laugh. Sister Araignée ⚰️& Celina🧣 Human haters.
Sister Araignée would probably meet Celina in the middle of one of her massacres. Since Sister Araignée is the most violent out of all of the family members (right next to Crimson), sometimes in a sort of sick and weird way of thanking Li for looking after her brother, she'd give her some human teeth she ripped out of some poor bastard's mouth. Li has every freakin' right to think Sister Araignée is creepy looking...because she is creepy. Like, genuinely. She is...eugh. I mean... at least Sister Araignée wouldn't want to rip Li's skin off if her brother likes her. Sister Araignée would barely talk to her but whenever she would, it'd be the most unpredictable moments...like imagine Celina trying to get through the walls of the base and she just hears, "𝔅𝔢𝔩𝔩𝔢 𝔰𝔬𝔦𝔯é𝔢 𝔫'𝔢𝔰𝔱-𝔠𝔢 𝔭𝔞𝔰 ?" right behind her out of nowhere- Sister Araignée would obviously notice how off-put Li would be at first, so she'd keep her distance. But if she sees BLU Sniper making a slight comment to Li? ... HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boy. I hope BLU Medic doesn't mind having to repair a broken nose...and teeth. Crimson 🦞 & Celina🧣 "..." "..." "..." "...You're interesting." 🦞 "...Um...thanks." 🧣 Yeah, surprise, Crimson is actually extremely socially awkward. She doesn't really know what to say in the moment, especially to someone that had the somewhat main mindset as her, with the whole mother feel. Crimson would obviously see that Celina doesn't really trust her at first and be a little rude at first, but Crimson would understand it. But as Crimson would show Celina more that they aren't that different, I'd like to think they'd chat about their past experiences over a bottle cap of wine. Crimson would tell Celina her stories about her whole voyage life before she ended up on the grounds of TeuFort. If Li needs a favor, Crimson wouldn't mind fulfilling it, since she looked out for the young ones of her family. So Crimson would also look out for anyone that Li cared about as well. "Your family is my family." (SPEED RUN THROUGH GREEN AND YELLOW CRABS :D) 🌺 Pualena & Celina🧣
Too trusting? Too friendly? How the FUCK are you alive? Pualena would just want to show Celina the shorelines of Banana Bay and even gift her with pieces of coconuts, wild berries, or even flowers. A bit TOO excited to see a new face. Might be overwhelming, honestly. 🍋 Citrus & Celina🧣 ...They hate each other. That's it. Citrus is WAY too sour and would just give Celina sass. Nuh-uh. It's not going to work out well. Especially if Citrus figures out about the whole BLU Sniper thing. She would clown the SHIT out of Li...and then it would end with a slight catfight. And immense apologies from their sibling, Lyle. Speaking of which- 🧠 Lyle & Celina🧣 🧠 "WHO ARE YOU!?" 🧣 "Jesus...calm down. I'm—" 🧠 "WHO!?" 🧣 "...I'm-" 🧠 "WHO!?!??!?" 🧣 "...yeah, no, I'm not doing this." 🧠 "...Wait, where are you going?!" 🧣 "Oh my fucking god..." After...that. Lyle would slowly lower their guard and calm down. But then Lyle would then go on about how "technology is the best way to combat against the humans!" And even show off the many machines they've made out of scrap metal and destroyed bits of the robot mercs. Lyle would then go on about all kinds of ramblings about technology, which Citrus would have to come in and smack the back of their head in order for them to shut up. But if Lyle were to find out Li interacted with ANY of the humans, OOOH BOY. They'd immediately quarantine themselves or even just stray away. 🧠 "DON'T YOU KNOW THEY CAN SMELL EACH OTHER FROM MILES AWAY!? YOU MIGHT BE LURING ONE HERE RIGHT NOW!!!"
🚬 Mr. P & Celina🧣 "..." "..." 🚬"...Humans?"
🚬 Mr. P & Celina🧣 "..." "..." 🚬"...Humans?" 🧣 "Unfortunately."
🚬"...Hm...Have you ever thought of just simply climbing down their throat and cutting out their Adam's apple from the inside?" 🧣 "...huh." He's small...but has a lot of knowledge.
