“Substitute beliefs” is an umbrella concept that can be applied to understanding introjects (fictional and real-life), pseudomemories, non-human alters, and more.

It’s important to note that not all substitute beliefs are harmful–they may be comforting, or even feel empowering. You don’t necessarily have to stop being a ghost! That said, it may be worth mentioning in therapy to make sure it’s a healthy belief to engage with.

Hello, unfortunately I am not receiving a stimulus check (not for lack of trying) and I continue to be chronically underpaid and underscheduled even with a +2 in Hazard pay per hour at work. I am an essential worker and I do not make more than $10 an hour with Hazard pay, excluding taxes and money taken out for vision coverage.

I know so many people are struggling during this time, but I am also out risking my health because I have to eat. And I continue to struggle with bills during the pandemic. i am not joking we need to force teach cooking in schools. like. it is an essential thing for survival. do you know how easy it is to make things if you know even the bare bones shit about how cooking works. we need to teach teenagers how far you can take an onion and some other veggies it''s sad that people grow up not knowing how to prepare literally anything. and i'm not talking about oh this home ed class taught me how to make chicken nuggets at home i'm talking about learning the balancing of sweetness and acidity and saltiness and bitterness and shit like that and techniques and oil temperatures and how meats cook. it needs to be taught because it's literally not even that difficult and it matters so much

On July 6th, a federal court overturned an FDA ban on the use of electroshock devices on autistic people, which the United Nations recognises as torture.

Depression is actually pretty darn pathetic. Depression has very little power against you IF it can’t find a worthy opponent to oppose you. You give it a challenge so the only way it can really influence you and deal some damage is if depression gets you to fight yourself. Don’t be your enemy, be your friend. Be on your team. It’s not you against your broken body, it’s you and your body against a manipulative monster disease. Learn how to love yourself and you will want to fight depression even harder when you realize that you are actually a cool person and you actually want to live. There is power in truth and living in it. Self-hate is based on lies, and you lived in those lies by beating yourself up with them. Now try the truth of self-love and start being nicer to yourself. No, it's not easy to get out of self-hate, but make the choice to try and understand yourself and take it a step at a time and then you will be surprised that you actually like some of the parts of yourself that you didn't think you did. As a Christian, I say God bless and may you receive more than you think you will. Depression may be an enemy you will have to continually face, but its shadow is bigger than itself and your shadow doesn't even begin to reveal the greatness of you.
