What makes kaishin the type of ship that ppl stick by even after cousin reveal?
For many it's because we find the two to be the best match for each other. When Shinichi and Kaito are introduce there is an immediate chemistry between the two, Kaito manages to shock Shinichi and then get away, something that Shinichi doesn't encounter often. Shinichi then is able to corner Kaito but he's able to escape one again. Then something interesting happens, the next time they interact, they work together to solve a murder.
It is also the first time Shinichi uses an excuse to let him get away.
And there interactions goes like this: a proper heist the two of them are challenging one another for their own fun. When it's a case, they work together, and in these circumstances Shinichi makes some excuse to let Kaito get away.
Then the manga goes further. Shinichi trusts in Kaito's ability to save the life of Haibara. The situation is deadly, he literally gets blown up, but Kaito escapes and when he complains to Shinichi about the danger (in a very non serious way mind you), Shinichi shares how he trusted in Kaito to get away.
And again. Shinichi is approached by Kaito helping him on a case, and it's reveal that Kaito in the manga is aware of Shinichi's identity (this is the first time this is confirmed in canon and not just movies). The twist is that this wasn't actually Kaito but someone else, Shinichi just didn't question whether it was Kaito because he trusts him so much he didn't think it was anyone else.
In Kaito's own anime, he admits he makes his more complicated heists just to challenge Shinichi. The other detectives like Hakuba, he gets annoyed when they intervere, but with Shinichi he's excited for the challenge he brings him.
The two are also in similar circumstances, hiding behind another identity to hunt down a criminal organization. In fact, the two of them are probably the only people who understand exactly what each other is going through. They trust each other more than they actually trust their love interests (which is very sad and I hate this writing for choice for Aoko and Ran) so naturally people flocked towards the ship.
There are a lot of reasons why people still love this ship despite the authors attempt to try and get rid of it. Even if he made the cousins things canon in the manga, we won't care because he's spent 30 years making an incredibly beautiful relationship between these two characters, it's just a shame he can't see that he did.
#kaishin.
Us fans will never be able to out-gay canon kaishin tbh
Magic Kaito 1412 episode 16 (Kid Vs Conan, Miraculous Midair Walk)
Detective Conan episode 356 (Kaitou Kid's Miraculous Midair Walk)
Magic Kaito 1412 episode 21 (Kid vs Conan: Teleportation Under the Moonlight)
*Casually confesses that all this fuss was just so he could "duel" with Conan and he made this heist special for him as romantic music swells in the background*
*almost gets blown up with a motorcycle* "I wonder what miracles I should show him next time đĽ°"
*has his plan completely foiled and almost gets caught* "That look on his face was worth it though."
I'm on my hands and knees, nobody writes gayer shit than sexist male mangakas.
fun idea to entertain that Shinichi has Kid by the chokehold(leash) and gets him to do (illegal) stuff for him

ok but why did ikuya had so much angst over haru when they only knew each other very shortly? and so dramatic over makoharu leaving the club if he was desperate he could've gone to him in school before he moved away. the whole drama is really forced when you think about it logically and what's the point in high speed characters returning if they only focused on ikuya and his creepy sidey
Itâs all Haruâs fault, cause heâs fucking magical. Have you seen Albert being happy af watching Haru win? And he knows him like.. for a day lol
Tbh I understand this whole âwith great talent comes great responsibilityâ, but thereâs a huge difference between admiring/being inspired by Haru and using him as a tool for your own gain. Thatâs why this whole situation with Ikuya bothers me so much. Cause he didnât even treat Haru as a human being. He made him feel guilty for nothing, he didnât let him apologize (for what, I donât get), and the worst part was when they showed that he knew that Hiyori treated Haru like trash and Ikuya was okay with it (cause aparently we deserved it).
Do you remember how freaking shocked Rin was when Rei told him that Haru felt guilty cause he thought he hurt him during the swimming? He was like âno, no, noâ.
For Rin it even sounded wild, cause he never ever blamed Haru for anything in his life. He is responsible for his own loses, mistakes, etc.
Like poor Haru bc of Hiyori and Ikuya literally thinks of himself as some curse:
And as grateful I was for a support from Asahi, sadly heâs not the right person to make Haru feel better, cause theyâre not that close. And it all felt like Haru was alone this season, cause Asahi and Kisumi canât really help, Ikuya dropped him right after he got what he wanted, old friends are far away, Makoto doesnât speak at all, nobody even gave a fuck about how Haru felt after the Albert thing except for Ryuji, but his âitâs your fault, you decided to swim with himâ doesnât really help.
I mean, thatâs one of the million reasons why I love Rinharu so much, cause Rin came and immediately said all the fucking right things without even stuttering. Like Haru went about how Albert made him feel bad during swimming, Rin counterattacked with the fact that swimming with Haru for him is what keeps him alive. Haru lost the race cause he was thinking too much, Rin went about how everything theyâve been through made them who they are and that Haru should just let himself go and enjoy it. He was with him for a 3 episodes, but it felt like Haru took a breath for a first time during the whole season.
But the saddest part that everytime Rin says something nice, Haru makes this fucking surprised face like he thinks that itâs adressed to somebody else. Heâs like âWHOOO? MEEE? Youâre talking about me?â
Cause sometimes everyone else says such things that he doesnât want to hear. Cause, heâs not a dancing monkey to show him off:
And heâs not a tool for you to prove yourself, and itâs definitely not for them to decide what he wants to do with his talent, itâs not his âdutyâ to swim.
And no wonder Haru didnât get the whole âbeing Ikuyaâs heroâ speech. Ikuya doesnât even know him as a person. So this whole speech doesnât worth shit to be honest at the end. Because Haru never wanted to be anyoneâs idol. He wants to be loved for who he is.
Iâm just tired of all of this hardcore pressure. I mean, only one decided to go like âyouâre very pretty, the world is pretty, we can try, what do we have to lose? and if you donât like it, fuck it, then.â
And Haru doesnât have to be responsible for someoneâs life, Ikuya. Thatâs why you look so pathetic compared to literally everyone. Stay with Hiyori, dudeâs whole life revolves around you, like you want, but Haru and Rin are too much of an adults for you.
Like maybe this whole Ikuya story wouldnât be so laughable (it still would, who am I kidding) if we didnât have first two seasons, but we do, and his character looks so damn awful because of that, I donât know what can help here to be honest.
he never disappoint. đ
