rainwings please?
coming REALLY SOON i promise!! they are my favourite tribe and it really shows in how i draw them i just want to make sure that it's ''perfect'' >w<
How do you draw your heads and bodies? I've been struggling with side views rn and yours look very noice :,) Also how do you do open mouths and eye placement? Sorry if I'm ranting, I'm just very curious :D
asks marathon again! i wasn't really sure what to say here other than to look for inspo from animals you like! dragons are fantasy creatures and if you're like me you'd enjoy giving them big cat anatomy for example! or bird wings over bat wings etc... look for your refs from real life to make your own fluffy dragons <33
here's a little shape break down tho! lots of curved squares = big catt
this is part 2 of my WoF dnd au, with another visualizer. the next part might take longer to make.
The Silkwing Citadel. Unlike the Hivewings and Leafwings, the Silkwing Citadel is less of a palace and more a center for the Silkwing community. The bottom of the structure is two silk-made towers open to any dragon, supported by bridges made of stretchy, more flexible silk. The top of the structure is a greenhouse split with another silk tower called The Spire, which houses the Silkwing royal family.
The Glass Market: This market is open to all Silkwings to buy and sell from each other. Anything and everything is sold here, but by far, the most commonly sold items are made of silk. Tapestries, clothing, silk jewelry, art pieces, custom statues, construction services, and so on. The stalls in the market change each day, so it is constantly packed with customers from sunrise to sunset. The market gets its name from the colored glass that hangs from the ceiling, suspended by thick threads of silk. Light pours through the windows to create patchwork rainbows that change throughout the day.
The Spinner Conservatory: This area of the Citadel is dedicated to teaching Silkwings how to use their silk. The main audience is dragonets after they've emerged from their cocoons, but dragons of all ages are encouraged to visit. There are dozens of classes, including web working, tapestry weaving, construction building, and many more. The teachers are mainly volunteers, but students are encouraged to donate food and trinkets for their work.
The Silkwing Hatchery: This public hatchery provides a safe, warm, and dry space for any Silkwing to hatch their eggs. The nests are first come, first serve, and are constantly guarded to ensure no egg goes missing.
The Chrysalis: An area in the Citadel dedicated to cocooning. Like the hatchery, this area is first come, first serve, with many branches and perches for dragonets to hang while they cocoon. This area is also heavily gaurded, with extra guards providing safe care for any flamesilks that may cocoon there.
The Western & Eastern Pavillion: Many dragons might think that Silkwings are limited to just silk as their construction material options, but this is not true. For instance, flamesilk (if accurately made) can be used to solder glass. This is how the glass ceiling for the Citadel's pavilions was made. Both contain colored, geometric glass, allowing sunlight to naturally filter through. The Western Pavilion is an open greenhouse filled with decorative and fruit-filled plants. Benches and paved paths line the pavilion for recreation activities. The Eastern Pavillion is much more open, with trees and flowering bushes lining the interior perimeter, while the center remains clear and open for parties, celebrations, and meetings with Leafwing diplomats.
The Spire: Finally, this is where the queen resides, accompanied by her immediate family. The Spire is redecorated whenever a new queen is crowned, usually adorned with fresh tapestries, rugs, and furniture. The current queen, Queen Alexandria, has The Spire beautifully decorated to match her appearance, filling its chambers with dark and malachite green tapestries and paintings, many of which reflect her image.
hello :> may I ask hoe you draw 3/4 perspective on the face? it's okay if you don't wanna answer since I know you just got an ask like that.
back to your questions! <3 sorry for waiting a bit i like doing these in batches :,3
basically i just use two shapes for the head and one generally where the snout is, try out a lot of poses by placing the snout very high up etc!
my advice is rather the same as with the other one, have fun bc its your art and find inspo in real animals! dont be scared to find shortcuts either. here are two examples i threw together, one is freehanded feat. Sunny! the other is actually using a ref with Winter (he's already based on arctic foxes!)
What brush do you use, oh wonderful artist?
AWWW thank you ahaha,,, <3
okey so i've been using FireAlpaca since forever and most of my brushes are default OR from the Bitman brush store and slightly edited here and there! :,> im also a little silly so i named them stupid names like desserts so im NOT SURE what the og names are, but one is like a canvas brush (my thick lineart style) and the other is like a sketch pen i think (my thin line style)
Omg I’d love to see Tsunami or Glory redesigned!! Your Peril design is so clever I love it 💕
two people ( @emeralddragonparagon and indigo) requested Glory this week, so here she is! thank you guys so much for the overwhelming support for these designs :3 they really took off!
Glory's design was a little difficult but very rewarding! I wanted to design her to fit with the present day in wof, where she's been queen for a little while and had time to settle in + grow into her role. She has a green/brown crown that fits under her ears, as well as some layered beaded jewelry which are inspired by the Uth Duna outfit from Monster Hunter Wilds. I wanted to make her look more regal/royal than she currently does, so I used a lot of patterns on top of the accessories.
For her scales, I liked the idea of Glory's pattern alluding to her somewhat prickly personality from the first arc, as well as leaving traces of her friends in her design - a sun on her shoulder, water-like patterns on part of her wing, amber/brown talons etc... it would be nice if Glory presented her scales with them in mind, considering she doesn't get to see the other DoD often.
as always, my askbox is open! I'm hard at work going through your requests - check back every so often to see if your favorite character has been done yet, or feel free to leave a request!
If your reqauest are open could you draw foeslayer please? She’s my favorite character
i will! they aren't open rn just because i wanted to get the protags done but as soon as luna is drawn you can start requesting<33
ill be back real soon with darkstalker next i think, rn im just focusing on some personal art which i've been missing🩷 like her!!!
First of all, literally sobbing, how is your art so amazing!!!
Secondly, I was wondering if your designs are free to use? I recently finished reading the entirety Wings of Fire after so many years and I wanted to do a tribute drawing, but I didn't want to make designs for every character lol, so I wanted to see if some of your amazing designs would be up for use, with 100% credit ofc!!!
*scurries away*
thank you!! basically yes! with clear credit and tagging me (I LOVE TO SEE IT) you can<33 have fun !
my oc Citrus says hi!!
the irresistible urge to make characters gay no matter what they are like in canon
yes. always and forever
Mudwings! ✦ generally inspired by water buffalo and crocodiles
for some headcannons - their horns can curl whichever way, but not up, as that would reveal them when they are hiding below the bog surface / mosses and small determined plant life grows on them bc they are ambush hunters who love relaxing, plus it helps them camouflauge!
layout generally inspired by @/Chaotic-minds-think-alike <3
she/her mostly sharing fandom and personal art on here! find me elsewhere https://bitingrose.carrd.co/ feel free to dm me, just please be clear right off the bat what you're looking for!
