If you have a problem with Jews using the word "diaspora," you're the one who needs to go and find a new word, because you're using a Jewish one.

The word "diaspora" was originally coined for the Jewish Diaspora. It has other meanings only by extension.

humansofjudaism via instagram: This Torah was completed and dedicated on the one-year anniversary of October 7th, which last year coincided with the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, a celebration of both the completion and renewal of the Torah cycle.

The Torah cover is uniquely stitched with the names of all those lost over the past year, forming the outline of the State of Israel. The inner wrapping bears the names of the remaining 101 hostages.

Traditionally, the holiday is celebrated by taking our Torahs out from their ark for all to dance and rejoice.

As we prepare to observe this holiday once again, we reflect on the events of that day a year ago, pray for the immediate return of the hostages, and remind ourselves that we will dance again. Chag Sameach and Am Yisrael Chai - The Nation of Israel Lives!
