2012 Raph vs Rise Raph - Weapon Analysis

*Slams hands on table*… I’m in a mood and I need to rant.

SO! you all have been waiting for me to continue this series on comparing weaponry and skill between the two series and now it is time for me to discuss my second biggest pet peeve in the entire franchise: Raph’s weapon of choice.

Now, my biggest pet peeve would definitely have to be how 2012 treats the Bo staff as a weaker weapon when it is a staple in martial arts for a reason. Its not weak, its actually quite difficult to learn how to use as you will CONSTANTLY be hitting yourself with it in training just like you would with nunchucku.

However, how 2012 treats the Sai is a WHOLE other misconception. And that would be: the Sai isn’t a practical weapon that should be used as a primary weapon against other martial artists, especially in TMNT.

How could this be the case, you might ask? well, let me explain…

I wanna talk about the spiky head man again because I realized that in this scene...

He didn't say Midoriya’s note taking and mumbling was annoying or was creeped out about it.

HE IS THE FIRST CHARACTER TO DO THAT!!

In their first meeting he guessed Midoriya was a fanboy and asked him if he wanted to be a hero, too. He didn't even asked if he had a quirk, which is nice that he just left it at that. He didn't pry any further, just "Oh, you wanna be a hero? Good for you!"

Any other time Midoriya takes notes, it comes off strange to other characters. Not to this guy.

Then he returns in season 6 and what does he do?

"Can't we just hear the kid out?"

The man probably recognized Midoriya and thought "I see this kid is pursuing his dream. Let's help him out".

You see that smile?! Midoriya gave him that smile. A geninue happy smile!

YOU THINK THAT MAN WOULDN'T HAVE SAID ANYTHING IF HE REMEMBERS THIS SMILE?!

I would have stepped up, too!!

the next time you think you’re lonely, just remember you have about 25 billion white blood cells in your body protecting your sorry little ass with their life. you have 25 billion friends who would die for you. no need for tears.
