gary larson this is one BANGER of a comic, thank you.
So I haven’t really been seeing folks talk much here at all about what’s been going on with Hurricane Helene recovery- but I thought I might share something I thought was cool and important.
Because of how roads have been washed out making homes and towns inaccessible to vehicles, the Cajun Navy (organizations that performs search, rescue, and assistance during disasters) has partnered with Mountain Mule Packer Ranch to use the mules to get medications, food, and water to people in need.
I just think it’s incredible. Despite all the technology you’d think is accessible to help people out, mules are still the most reliable form of transport to save people’s lives

We've sold 2025 so far, and to fund the program for 2025 (ok, weird that it's same number, but that's literally the number we sold as of 5pm Eastern lmao), we need to sell about 5000 total. Pretty unlikely that's going to happen but... I can try!

Also thinking about how at my first day of public school my mom packed me a boiled egg because I was in my boiled egg phase (ate one boiled egg a day for like four months) and she forgot which eggs were boiled and which were not. So when I opened my lunch the first day of school it was covered in egg. And I started crying and the aide for the autistic kid in class had to take me to the lunch line and buy me a lunch that was not a raw egg. And I was very dismayed because public school was already ruining my routine and now I didn’t even get my daily egg. And the aide was very nice and gave me tater tots which were not an egg but it was exciting to buy lunch.

when i was 14 i came out to a highschool teacher as transgender and i believe i was the first transgender person he ever talked to, and i suppose he panicked, because all he did was say "i think you should listen to little lion man by mumford and sons," and i did, and it changed my 14 year old mind, but i am still unsure what his intended message. he was cool with me being transgender though.
