The Third House

The third house is a place of action. 3 is an active number. It is often associated with activity, manifestation, connection and creativity.

When it comes to the zodiac signs, number 3 is Gemini, which can be associated with the ideas of connection and activity. We can learn a lot about the third house, the house of activity, from analyzing Gemini, the sign of activity.

Since this scheme is analyzed clockwise, the next house after the fourth house is the third house, which is quite interestingly named Goddess.

We have already discussed the third house's connections to communication, expression, intellect, and learning. The ancient scheme introduces a sense of local community. The child is born inside the safe and comfortable fourth house; her parents send her outside to play in the local community---school, friends, neighborhood. In the community, she makes friends, interacts with neighbors, and embarks and learns about the world and finds her core memories. The third house represents a child's learning about the world. Walking, eating, breathing---life's simple things. Simple activities, along with exploring the community, can make up our entire world during childhood.

But community exploration can be an adult thing too. Let's focus on the name of the third house---Goddess. Why would the Goddess (the Moon) choose this house as her temple? Well, there is naturally a divine magic to learning and information, and to the childlike experience of the world, but beyond that, there is a sense of comfort in the community which I feel appeals to the Goddess.

In the third house, there is a sense of ritual. A bus route you take every Tuesday. Walking by that bench and crossing this street to get to the bookstore. Commute and transportation on schedule. A daily scone that you grab on the way to work. Ritual in this sense, and perhaps in general, is comforting. At the weekly farmers market, people mingle at ease with the same friends and neighbors from the locality. Local vendors go about their small businesses mindlessly. People run their errands, children doodle in the grass and fly kites, queers flirt and frolic, friends grab a bite, elders walk, teens gossip. There's something really nostalgic about it all.

This idea of memory and comfort and familiarity in the community feels almost Cancerian. This is why the Moon rejoices in the third house, in the traditional scheme of planetary joys (see the diagram above). This is part of why the third house is so important. A lot of comfort can be found in a healthy locality. Recent feminist scholars in the field of urban studies have advocated for the replacement of our patriarchal view of the city with a matriarchal view. Today's cities are not loving or nurturing, they place cold, alienating, isolating, exploitative and White cis-heteropatriarchal expectations on people, upholding the system of industrial global neoliberalism. Cities need to be more localized, affordable, inclusive and comfortable for the unhoused, for the working class, and for women, queer people and racial minorities. The Moon rejoices in the local, inclusive, comforting space envisioned by the third house. Urban planners should take inspiration from that. Providing protective comfort and care along with a healthy democracy for natives, immigrants and marginalized groups (and for the environment) should be the central purpose of a city, not profit. Sorry I'm an urban planning major and I'm super passionate about this.

Your desires were never bigger than you, you created them..so why fear?

This post is actually inspired by a small thought I had while getting ready to take a bath 😭

So anyways back to my point, I will based this entirely on my experience just now, so boom, I was randomly thinking OF my desires wondering "hmm I already know every drop of loa info I need to know so why am I not applying?" That's when another thought of mine appeared and asked "is it because I wanna manifest a lot of things at once that I'm not applying or maybe I'm doing something wrong?" Then it was followed by "I've already affirmed before that I had all my desires/my dream life what was the issue? I know that the 3d doesn't matter, wavering doesn't slow down my manifestation, I've been WANTING my desires since forever, I've manifested things before what was so different about this?" And then that is when a very distinct voice said in my head

"Why would I be worried about not being able to have a desire that I created? How can my desire be bigger than me when I AM the one who created the desire in the first place?"

This has me sitting for a few moments rethinking EVERYTHING. That's when I began to change my perspective on this whole desiring thing entirely, if I am the creator of my reality and I created the desire in the first place and I also created the confusion AND ocercomplications around even having my desire, why am I questioning about something that I can just decide to have..BECAUSE I AM THE CREATOR OF MY REALITY. This honestly made Mr chuckle a bit. Especially because if had me thinking about people with epiphanies of loa, they aren't epiphanies at all, i already knew exactly what everything meant BUT I created all these overcomplications and rules and such that i literally forgot that I create all the time so therefore why would me creating fulfillment in having my desires be any different.

Then my mind started wandering to different methods because my mind already got the gist NOW that I literally do create the lack, the desire AND the fulfillment. But then it had me wondering how can I lack or desire something that I've already created? This is when one of Edward art's vids kicked in and I hear his voice in my head telling me:

"lack is an illusion and desire is an illusion, there is only just fulfillment and acceptance of that fulfillment"

So that's when my mind sat for a few seconds then went back to the whole methods thing and I thought about well hm..since I'm the creator of my reality what method should I do? That's when my mind began to go back again and it then says:

"Imagine someone anyone (for me this was higher self, my mom, and my lover at the moment) and they gave you a gift it had everything you could've ever desired and they told you yes it is all yours, you can have it its yours"

So though it wasn't vivid I didn't concern myself with that I just kept hearing the voice say yes it is yours yes you can have it yes you have it. Now it wasn't very long but it definitely made me wonder, a lot of times many of us don't "want to manifest" simply because they feel they don't deserve the things they want. In my case I knew I voild have the things I wanted and even in a way deserved it but my issue was that it was so much I wanted I didn't want to be judged for making my life the way I wanted it to be. This is when another thought comes up and says

"How could I be scared of something I created?"

This really had me thinking especially with times I've doubted and second guessed etc not only was I choosing the opposite of what I created but I was saying no to something I created that I constantly searched to get a yes to, it didnt matter what anyone else answer was the only yes I ever really needed was my own because it was my own creation.

This is all I have right now but I just thought this thought was really funny to me

Stefan pushed the door and it banged open, though it wasn’t his intention to make a scene, and saw Katherine, still clothed, straddling the guy she came into the room with.

“Occupied!” he said impatiently.

Stefan didn’t say anything, just kept staring. She was making a performance just for him; he knew because her sighing got heavier when she heard him coming and now that he was there, her eyes flicked up to him, a grin on her face.

“Hey, are you listening, I said—” When the guy turned around and saw Stefan’s expression, his own grew frightened and he immediately disentangled from Katherine, putting a few spaces between them.

“Dude, seriously, my bad, I didn’t realize that you two were … that you were …”

“We’re not,” said Stefan sharply. His eyes stayed on Katherine who smirked up at him, gleeful and mischievous and vengeful.  He gave her exactly what she wanted – a response, a reaction and he cursed himself. Why did he have to know what they were doing? Why couldn’t he let it go? He seethed.

“Uh…” The man cleared his throat, looking between them. “Do you want me to leave you two alone?”

Yes. No. Stefan wasn’t sure what he would do if he was alone with Katherine now. He closed his eyes, gathering himself. “No,” he said finally. “No, I shouldn’t be here.”

He left the way he came in, telling himself to get a grip, to clear his head, to stop engaging, to just let it go, let it all go. No good could or would come of it, it never did, he knew that, he needed to stop. By the time he made it back home, Katherine was already in his room, sitting cross-legged on his bed.

It barely surprised him but her presence had him riled  – she provoked unpredictable responses in him. He didn’t acknowledge her right away and went to his bar, pouring himself a drink first. He took a sip then spoke.

“You ditched the boytoy then?”

Katherine shrugged. “Wasn’t exactly what I was craving.”

Stefan scoffed. “This is the problem with you, you can’t just play games with people just because you feel like it.”

She tilted her head. “Everything I do has a purpose, you should know that by now.”

What if he threw the glass right at her? “And what was the purpose of this?”

She slipped off the bed and drifted over to where he was, lightly running her fingers along different surfaces as she approached him.

“Proof,” she said.

Stefan went to take another sip from his glass but Katherine took it away from him, taking a sip from the same spot his lips touched. “You still want me.”

Stefan laughed humourlessly, shaking his head.

“Want you dead maybe.”

She raised her eyebrows. “Well, I’m right here.”

She crossed her arms, taking off her shirt so that she was standing in front of him in her bra. He rolled his eyes, exasperated.

“What are you doing?”

“Making myself an easier target.”

Stefan tried not to look but felt himself weaken. “I’m not in the mood for another one of your games, Katherine,” he said quietly.

“But it’s such a fun game,” she whispered.

Her eyes lowered to his lips and she inched toward him, relishing in the slow agony of anticipation – when she kissed him, Stefan’s breath caught in his throat. He felt something ignite in him and moved to hold her, bring her closer to him but a sliver of his conscience, his dignity kept him from fully engaging and instead held his hands up to keep from grabbing onto her

He wrenched away. “Stop.”

She smiled, hearing the hoarseness in his voice. “OK. I will,” she said happily, then brushed her lips against his ear. “For now.”

Also take care of your beard or mustasche. Wear a watch if you like watches. Beige, brown, black, white and navy blue are your colors. Dont do too much to your hair just make sure its healthy. Capricorn is all about looking well taken care off so a good skin and hair routine is a must. Suit pants look sooo good on these people.

Aquarius & Uranus

every single sagittarius placement i’ve met (mainly big 6 or stellium) wants to travel. and not just to another state, or a nearby country, but to an entirely different country. they can be interesting in other countries too, and their culture. i notice sag moons are the most likely to have a true interest in the culture, rather than sag mercuries or other sag placements. sag mercuries seem to want to learn another language more or speak another language

this is somewhat based on my experience but also astrological facts

sag rising- want to just go anywhere in general, even if it’s just to the store, they like going places

sag suns- seem to have a general interest in traveling, might be apart of who they are

sag moon- really interesting in other cultures, religions, traditions, etc. feeling empathetic for the possible struggles

sag mercury- interested in other languages, might speak more than one theirself

sag venus- a genuine love for other countries, seeing the beauty in the culture and art

sag mars- passionate about the countries, they may be the type to really support a country, will debate/ argue with you over it
