So we know that High end Nomus have some cognitive recollection of their past.

As of now Jeanist is more than likely dead.

Aizawa and Mic had to come to the realization that their best friend who has been dead for years has become nothing more than a Nomu. Only being able to dent the crack back into his original personality.

And we know Bakugo is adamant about telling Jeanist his hero name.

So here goes. Jeanist is a Nomu and when Bakugo realizes that he will stop fighting and yell "Hey, Jeanist! Ya know who's gonna save ya!? Me! *insert hero name!*

And then we will have a heart to heart moment where Bakugo realizes that he can't save someone.

Or Nomu Jeanist stops attacking and comforts the boy.

I love this so much. The characters look so good. They look like they should as adults. I swear to God, I thought they were gonna fuck up the kids, but damn do they look swell. Joe in particular looks like Joe which was a huge fucking problem in Tri which was bad for more than how off model Joe looked. I love business man Izzy and Joe rocking the dad look at 23 makes my day as for Sora I like that she is doing that fashion designer thing they came up with from the end of Adventure 02. Kari and T.K look like hipsters and to be honest I expect nothing else. As for the boys Matt and Tai. I have to say after the shit heap that was Tri I love how genuine they look to the original, and I love this movie more than anything that has come out in the past 10 years of Digimon stuff and it hasn't even come out. While it might not be perfect and more than likely it won't live up to the hype, but I appreciate that unlike the previous stuff it looks like it's gonna "Tri."

I agree with this entirety. If my best friend becomes the best possible version of themselves through my love and appreciation I would feel awesome. And the series reflects this completely

I think the main appeal of Digimon as a franchise is that your digimon partner is a reflection of you, and also your best friend. And not only that, but your digimon partner grows stronger in response to your relationship deepening. That’s a very powerful sort of empathic bond there, and one that doesn’t really happen in real life. But it’s not all sunshine and daisies- the negative aspects of ourselves can influence our digimon even more strongly than our positive aspects should we let them control us, leading to a rampaging monster that cares only about destruction. And in order to overcome that monster, we have to look inside ourselves and do better.

I think that’s part of why I love the digimon franchise so much. Because, in the end, it’s all about that empathic bond, one that you rarely see in fiction. And I just… I feel like I could really use a friend like that. I think we all could.
