the man who fell to earth (1976) dir. nicolas roeg
I'm slightly stressed <3
there's something about Bev that I can't fully articulate because I'm still ~in the throes~ of just having finished Midnight Mass, but the way her character captures the exact passive agressive, racist, holier-than-thou white woman who twists the gospel to fit her own picture of herself as a deserving martyr, while she is in fact leveraging what little power she derives from her subservience to a patriarchal institution is just so
I love the Sinclair siblings. They were on some shit this season. Erica making that roll and Lucas making that goal. Like they fr slayed this whole season.
Cassandra Peterson and her alter ego, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, 1980s
Honestly what the fuck.
Seriously they got Hilda back from the dead last time so why couldn’t they do it for Sabrina? Not to mention we saw that Sabrina is there when Zelda is on her death bed.
Like, what is the point.
And the implied suicide at the very end. Unacceptable.
And don’t get me started on Mambo Marie. I fucking loved that character. And I loved her with Zelda. Then they basically jump on the ‘bury your gays’ bandwagon. We finally get some bi representation that isn’t made of stereotypes/assumptions or pushed aside and glossed over and then it gets ripped from us.
Zelda lost so much. My poor baby.
I’m livid.
Homelander is one of the best villains I’ve seen in a while…and it’s not just the writing.
I’ve seen similar villains before.
It’s the actor more than anything else. I’ve seen him in other shows and I didn’t even recognize him here. His stance, his behavior and his expressions are entirely different and he made my skin crawl.
Not to mention that I haven’t scene ONE superhero movie in the current cinematic universes with a villain on the same level of creepy, scary adn unhinged.
hot take: you can have a favourite but all spidermen are equal.
#Protect her at all costs
