*a Letter Was Left In Strongharts Cell This Time With A Pencil And Paper*

*a letter was left in Strongharts cell this time with a pencil and paper*

Dear Mr. Stronghart,

How are you feeling? I know it must not be the best but it is a formal thing to ask. I was the one who had given you the carved wooden bird and I was wondering if you liked it. I'm by no means an expert on wood carving, but I like to do it when my older brother is busy so I'd like to think I've gotten good at it!

Sincerely,

-T.V.Z.

To T. V. Z.,

I have been living in the dark for quite some time. I long for unbiased news from the aboveground as I rot in this pit of Hades. I am surrounded by the deranged people whom I had the misfortune of knowing in my first life, though I have been blissfully separated from them, as I am at a high risk for being attacked. I spend my time writing. There is quite a lack of things I am allowed to do.

I did quite enjoy the bird you gave me. I am not allowed to have violent instruments such as whittling tools or knives with which to cut my food (if the food were better than the bland slop they feed me). It was nice to see the work that went into it. I ran my fingers down every crevasse, feeling the mistakes, the details, the knots within the wood.

It has given me something to do, and I have noticed that my fingers are so often on the bird that the natural oils produced by man have begun to naturally weather the wood into a smoother texture, far more pleasing to the touch.

Signed, Mael Stronghart.

P. S. - I notice your unusual initials. Would you, perchance, be related to the van Zieks family?

To Herlock Sholmes,

Take this!

To Herlock Sholmes,

Is this true, Mr. Sholmes? If so, do you have any favorite disguises of this kind in particular?

Your fan,

Mod Athena

Dear Mod Athena,

To Herlock Sholmes,

How did you access such a photo, and such a caption no less? I was unaware of any sort of camera in the room at Baker Street.

To Herlock Sholmes,

That being said, yes! I do have quite a closet of disguises. I can change into any person within a matter of minutes, it is one of my greatest skills. None but my partner have seen the true extent of this. I have bustles and blouses, facial hair and wigs, hats, pipes, canes, shabby and beautiful clothes, all sorts of things I have bought and scrounged and collected over the course of many, many years.

To Herlock Sholmes,

I am particularly fond of a character by the name of Irene. I greatly enjoy becoming Irene. She was named after a fantastic woman I once met, who changed how I view the world. I cannot thank her enough for this. The idea of becoming a woman to change other people's view of the world... it pleases me greatly.

To Herlock Sholmes,

Additionally, there is no better feeling than confusing all of my partner's friends by dressing up as different women every night. It made him seem quite the suave fellow!

Thank you for asking! Herlock Sholmes

Dear Mr. Holmes, erm, it's Gina. Inspector Gina Lestrade. You know who I am, we've met. This is probably a stupid question, but... would I be able to come live at Baker Street? Asougi can sleep on the floor. He said he's waiting on a special bed to come in for him. Or I could sleep in the same bed as him. Or I could sleep on the floor! I've certainly slept in worse places.

Inspector Lestrade!

Dear Mr. Holmes, Erm, It's Gina. Inspector Gina Lestrade. You Know Who I Am, We've Met. This Is Probably

How nice it is to hear from you! I have certainly been wondering if I would receive a request of such kind. There is always a spare couch at Baker Street if you so desire. You needn't pay rent if you cannot afford it, though I would certainly appreciate a spare bit of money. I am an avid spender! My methods are occasionally quite costly.

Dear Mr. Holmes, Erm, It's Gina. Inspector Gina Lestrade. You Know Who I Am, We've Met. This Is Probably

That being said, you are very near and dear to my family. It is clear that both Kazuma and Iris care for you quite a large amount. Kazuma has received the futon he was waiting on and therefore you could sleep in his old bed if you so desire, so long as you can put up with his general restlessness and tendency to stay up well into the night.

Dear Mr. Holmes, Erm, It's Gina. Inspector Gina Lestrade. You Know Who I Am, We've Met. This Is Probably

Please, come and enjoy dinner with us, if nothing else! Sit by the fire, recount some of your investigations for us, visit Iris's garden. We would love to have you.

To whomever wishes to respond,

Can you tell me something that is quick, is easy, and it is free?

To anon:

There are a great deal of things that are quick, easy, and free. Tripping upon the cobblestones. Making a fool of yourself. Pacing back and forth. Concerning your neighbors. Taking from children.

While I do not recommend any of those things, they are certainly quick, easy, and free. One must find ways to entertain oneself when one is bored.

Signed, Venus

mr holmes, im sure you corresponded with dr mikotoba during your separation, so how did you hide that correspondence from iris? i cant imagine it was easy

My dear Ribbonroad,

It was indeed rather difficult to hide such a thing from such a precocious young lady. Fortunately for me, she is quite good at understanding my need for privacy! I did not lie to her per se, but she took to thinking that such things were secrets that could affect the outcome of various cases I was on. I simply indulged that belief of hers.

She did sometimes try to sneak a glance at our letters, but she knew better than to take them from my hands. She understood the need for my own privacy, as I gave her hers in turn. I know that Iris was intrigued by the contents of the letters mainly because she recognized the handwriting of my most dear partner.

Perhaps someday I shall share some snippets of our correspondences with her. Some, however, are a dearly private matter between the two of us.

Dear sister,

Who is the man living in our house? The tall one with the white hair. Why is he here? Did you allow him into the home… on purpose?

-Barok

[modverse]

Dear Barok,

I have grown rather fond of the strange man living in your house. He is so very fun to watch! He sits upon any surface open to him, crawling inside of cabinets, bathtubs, closets, fireplaces... He reminds me of a feral cat in a very charming way.

As for who let him in, it was actually you! Benjamin asked you if he could have a friend visit, and that person just so happened to be Enoch. It seems you may be stuck with him, as he appears to be rather happy there.

Best of luck!! Rosie

To anyone

Thoughts on former queen Elizabeth’s passing?

Anonymous,

I weep for the life that has passed. Such a beautiful age of art, of philosophy, of theatre--the patron saint of the bard himself!! While it has been hundreds of years since our late leader Elizabeth, her impact will be felt for centuries to come, I know.

Death comes to us all, and while such a thought may be dreadful to some, he has wise words to share on such a subject, as with all others... She has gone to the undiscovered country, from whose bourn no traveler returns. To die, to sleep, no more. To sleep, perchance to dream-- and so on and so forth.

With slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

William Petenshy

mr holmes if professor mikotoba were a worm would you still love him

Ah, my dear Ribbon! That is a rather silly question, one that did puzzle me quite a bit. Mikotoba did inform me that he was asked much the same question, so I would only hope that he would still love me as a worm.

In terms of him being a worm versus a man, I know I would most certainly miss the sound of his dancing. While worms can dance, they do not make a sound while they do it, and I would be unable to see the joy in his face. That would be quite a loss.

But, there is no way I would ever stop loving him, even if he were a worm.

With love, Sherlock Holmes

Dearest Enoch,

Hey u still Mormon?

-The heavenly spirit

To this so called 'heavenly spirit',

The answer is no. I have not followed any doctrine for quite some time, and my upbringing has led me to reject Mormonism in its entirety.

As for you, if you truly wanted to pretend to be some sort of spiritual figure, especially one in the Mormon religion, you would learn your scripture. Are you the Heavenly Father, or are you the Holy Ghost? I realize they are the trinity, one in three, but they are also three distinct beings.

Barok if you had a dog… what would you name them?

Dear Anon,

Barok If You Had A Dog… What Would You Name Them?

I'm afraid I don't quite know what I would name a dog if I had one. I do have a rather strained relationship with that species, no matter the breed. All dogs remind me of my brother, as he was quite the fan of such animals. And thinking of dogs in relation to my brother leaves me in quite a foul mood. It is something that I am working on.

Barok If You Had A Dog… What Would You Name Them?

I suppose when I was younger, I would have taken inspiration from him. He took his dog's name from a work of classic literature, and I suppose I would do the same. In that case, something like Excalibur would be the best I could come up with.

Though, Benjamin and I have been discussing bringing some kittens into our lives...

To Enoch… he lives here

Thoughts on Rosie?

Anon,

To Enoch… He Lives Here

I am afraid I don't quite know who you are referring to. Is it a woman? A child? An animal? Simply the flower in general? Either way, I seem always a bit calmed by roses. The concept of such a beautiful flower being protected by thorns, especially ones that will not affect me due to the metal nature of my hand...

To Enoch… He Lives Here

I cannot help to relate to such a thing. They inspire me. I cannot explain as to why.

Signed, Enoch Drebber
