To Enoch Drebber

To Enoch Drebber

Have you thought of what you will do once you're released from prison? What are your plans, if you have any?

With care,

Anon

To anon:

I much appreciate your care. I have had much time to ponder this, and I know what I would prefer to do, though I doubt it would be possible. My dream... my ever-present dream has been to become a world-renowned scientist. I don't believe there is any sort of scientific organization that would accept me considering my history.

I not only destroyed another scientist's dreams, but also blackmailed, manipulated, got people killed... In addition to the grave robbing.

That being said, I've seen much of the new coroner, and the two of us get along rather well. Despite how I treated her mother in the past, we are both fascinated by scientific endeavors, human anatomy, the pursuit of knowledge... and we both understand that our tone, or lack thereof, does not mean that we are not interested. I think she could be a good friend, and, perhaps, colleague.

With care, Enoch Drebber.

Iris,

Have you ever made Victoria sandwiches? If so are they good?

Dearest Anon,

I adore Victoria sandwiches! They're quite the delight, and Papa always asks me when I'll be making them next. We eat them to celebrate cases, birthdays, experiments, friendships... all sorts of milestones!

Ginebean doesn't know exactly when her birthday is, so we have celebrations regarding her birthday whenever she seems down. At this rate, she's going to be older than the judge any day now!

I have been getting quite interested in the process of preserves lately, whether they be pickles, jams, candied fruits, salted meats... anything that keeps food better longer! My uncle sometimes talks of the ice box he has which can keep foods frozen for quite some time, though I do prefer this method. It's cheaper, more reliable, and frankly, more fun!

All my love, Iris

Mod Post: Thank You!

Thank everyone for all the asks they've sent in so far! I've gotten at least 6 asks tonight alone, and am working on posting answers for them. I'm having so much fun you would not believe working on this.

To the anon who sent the super long ask, I love it so much and I can't thank you enough for sending it. The answer will be out in a few days, as I have posts queued to be 3 a day for now so as to not run out of material. I may make it be more if I end up getting more asks.

Thank you all! I love you guys!

Signed, Mod of the Baskervilles

Barok, have you ever think about the baskerville family ever since the truth of the professor case has been out in the open

Dear anon,

In truth, I do not think much of my sister-in-laws' family. I knew that she was not overly fond of them, though she did miss them, of course. I do regret that their name has become tied up in all of this mess, as the so-called 'Hound of the Baskervilles' goes down in local legend.

There is one cousin of said family who I am rather fond of, though he has long since distanced himself from his relatives. Perhaps as condolences to their family I could bring some gift to them, or visit their home, but... I feel as though I would be less than welcome.

Signed, Lord van Zieks.

Dear father-in-law,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I am writing to invite you to our baby shower, which will be held in three months.

I know that this invitation comes at a difficult time for our family, as we are still mourning the loss of my brother-in-law. His memory will always be in our hearts, and I know that he would have been so excited to welcome our new baby into the world.

We would be honored to have you join us in celebrating the newest addition to our family. Your presence would mean the world to us, and we hope that you can make it.

With love,

Lord Blackquill.

οΏΌοΏΌοΏΌ

To Lord Blackquill,

Thank you for your kind invitation. I am certain that my husband and I will be able to attend this celebration, and we look forward to welcoming this new life into our family. I hope that our presence there will be able to bring a bit more life to such a dark time you and your wife have been facing.

Respectfully, Lord van Zieks.

Mod Update: gifs

Hello everyone!! Currently I'm in a bit of a weird place where I can very easily answer asks but for whatever reason physically cannot add gifs, and occasionally tags, to the posts. Sorry about that! Hopefully I can update the posts later. Thanks for your patience! Keep the asks coming in! <3

Benjamin, what is the nicest thing barok has ever done for you?

Dearest Anon,

I must admit, it's rather hard to figure out an answer to that question. Not only have we had a lot of happy memories together, I also often have trouble remembering what's happened in recent times. People have joked that I have the memory of an ant... Hah...

I suppose that may be the nicest thing he's ever done. I am a strange man. Everyone who meets me knows that I am rather eccentric. Barok does the simple task of not poking fun at me. He accepts me as I am, and he is my truest friend.

I also appreciate his generous offer to let me live with him, rather than having to pay for lodging now that I have chosen to return to London. I will always be grateful for such things he does for me.

To the aspiring scientists Albert Harebrayne, what are your thoughts on the phenomenon known as vampires?

Dear ace-chaser,

A gif of Benjamin Dobinbough/Albert Harebrayne nervously biting his thumb and talking.

V-vampires?? A frightening concept indeed!

A gif of Benjamin Dobinbough/Albert Harebrayne smiling, holding up a book and talking.

I've read the novel Dracula and have, of course, heard rumours about my close friend Barok, insinuating he may be one of them. I have had a close eye on his activities for a while--I have been visiting him since the Professor ordeal has finished--and can say that he has not done anything out of the ordinary.

Benjamin talking, eyes closed, hand ruffling his hair.

How Romantic a concept, though. A creature who thrives upon death... I shudder to think of it.

To anyone

Thoughts on former queen Elizabeth’s passing?

Anonymous,

I weep for the life that has passed. Such a beautiful age of art, of philosophy, of theatre--the patron saint of the bard himself!! While it has been hundreds of years since our late leader Elizabeth, her impact will be felt for centuries to come, I know.

Death comes to us all, and while such a thought may be dreadful to some, he has wise words to share on such a subject, as with all others... She has gone to the undiscovered country, from whose bourn no traveler returns. To die, to sleep, no more. To sleep, perchance to dream-- and so on and so forth.

With slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

William Petenshy

to Benjamin- you sound very fond of Barok. What made you want to get back in contact with him after ten years?

Dear Uniquartz,

To Benjamin- You Sound Very Fond Of Barok. What Made You Want To Get Back In Contact With Him After Ten

You are quite the astute observer! I am rather fond of Barok... The two of us were very close friends in our years at university. He is the closest friend I've ever had! One of the only friends I've ever had...

To Benjamin- You Sound Very Fond Of Barok. What Made You Want To Get Back In Contact With Him After Ten

Oh, my... I can think of only three friends... well, that is to say, three human friends... that I have ever had. That is rather worrying. Perhaps I should get out more. (Not to mention one of those friends tried to ruin my dreams...)

To Benjamin- You Sound Very Fond Of Barok. What Made You Want To Get Back In Contact With Him After Ten

That being said, I had missed him greatly. He invited me to visit him in his home and I could not turn down such an offer. I have struggled with money in the past, and he is helping me to save my pennies. As I said, he is a very, very kind man. I care deeply for him.

Best, Benjamin Dobinbough

Sherlock, did you get your partner's letter? - πŸ’œ

My dear πŸ’œ,

Sherlock, Did You Get Your Partner's Letter? - πŸ’œ

I am very pleased to announce that yes, I have received my partner's letter. I can only assume he answered as quickly as possible, which delighted me more than I can state. The contents of this letter, I cannot share, but let it be known that my melancholic violin playing was unwarranted.

Sherlock, Did You Get Your Partner's Letter? - πŸ’œ

Suffice it to say, I shall be purchasing a boat ticket soon!

Signed, Sherlock Holmes
