yeah like my friends rabbi mentioned my rabbi in a speech. Several states apart. There’s actually a really funny game called Jewish geography when some people join a zoom call with one person that theyre trying to get on the call. They can add their friends, who can add their friends who can add their friends and usually they get the person pretty quickly

I think people don't realize how ridiculously interconnected the Jewish community is. Usually it would be shitty to assume that any random guy knows somebody else just cause they share a culture/ethnicity but I swear every time I mention an obscure Jewish thought leader/author/politician/etc. one of my cousins goes like "oh yeah I studied Torah with his son in 1985". every single fucking time

ok so this is my first post about my indigenous roots, because I’m a bit self conscious about how distant they are. My family doesn’t do anything at all to honor the culture, and my younger siblings and cousins probably don’t even know about it. Older family members don’t even acknowledge it most of the time. The only clue that we even are native is that my grandma has an old baby moccasin of hers on display. I would like a “certified” native person to tell me if it “counts” because I would love to be able to talk about it without feeling like an imposter

I was trick or treating. I was probably ten years old? I dressed as a carrot and spent a really long time on my orange face paint. My friend and I went to this house with a maga sign. Typically, we wouldn’t have gone there because, well, because trump, but it was Halloween. We wanted candy. The lady who answered the door gave us candy and we left. As we were walking back down her driveway, she yelled to me: “by the way, I like your orange face!” So that’s why she voted trump. Ok. Got it 👍

What are your favourite colours and what is your favourite type of style?

yellows and burnt oranges, very warm but fun palette. My favorite style is just like anywhere between fourties and nineties ngl.

No religion has actual “magic” because most people don’t believe in it. Ever seen a baby? That’s magic.

judaism disappoints me because there is no magic. There is no walking on water. There is Moses and the burning bush and the splitting of the sea years ago. Any resources to find a positive perspective on Jewish history and suffering and lack of magic? The religion feels very realistic and I'm dying and how much it sucks. There are no gurus.
