“… Even though it’s already been four months… Ah! Now’s not the time to be worrying about that! I thought it was hard to breathe! He’s completely on top of me!”

Wolfram von Bielefelt, with the sleeping face of an angel and the sleeping habits of a devil, has got both his arms and legs wrapped around me, disturbing my peaceful sleep. He had on a frilly-laced, silk nightgown.

“This isn’t funny. If Günter saw this…”

“I’m already here!”

Lord von Christ is yelling as he bangs on the thick, heavy wooden door. His pretty face is probably distorted in unease and impatience, his hair in a disarray.

—————————————————————— Novel 4. ch.1 -Introducing Wolfram-

The third son has a build similar to mine, looks just like his mother with long eyelashes, blonde hair, emerald green eyes that remind me of the bottom of a lake, and is the very image of a perfect pretty boy from an orthodox school – like an angel that comes to you in a dream and makes you cry from his whispered gospel. But in reality he’s a spoiled brat and if he opens his mouth, what comes out isn’t any kind of heavenly gospel.

I’m simultaneously denying all three of their opinions. As the only outsider, Lord Weller is desperately trying not to laugh. Stop that Conrad. Your one and only baseball partner is being forced into a marriage fraud… Wait, rather than a marriage fraud, is it gender misrepresentation? Ah, if only Wolfram was a girl… but then he’d still be a spoiled brat… NOTE:  When Yuuri talks about ‘marriage fraud’, and 'gender misrepresentation’, he’s talking about the fact that same sex people can’t get married in Japan; so  two men getting married would in fact mean that the marriage is fraudulent. He even said: “wouldn’t it rather be gender misrepresentation?” which consist of pretending someone is of a different gender to get married. This is followed by an : Ah~ If only Wolfram were a girl…

“Royal bastard?” What’s that? As I turned to Conrad to ask, Wolfram grabbed me by my collar.

“Yuuri, you jerk, where did you give birth!? Where and when, when did that happen!?”

“Wh-what? I didn’t give birth! I definitely did not give birth!”

Being assaulted by this angelic pretty boy, I feel like confessing to anything.

Also standing there was the third son of the three brothers that look nothing alike.  If he kept his mouth shut, he was an unrivalled pretty boy, but in reality he was just a spoiled brat made all the more intimidating by the beauty he inherited from his mother.

“I’m your fiancé so it’s my duty to supervise you on your travels so you don’t get caught up in some sort of love affair!  Especially since you’re a flirt, a cheater and henachoko!”

“Anyway, since Schildkraut is two days away, let’s just pass the time in our cabin.  Especially since we have a child with a fever and an adult who is seasick like always.”

Speaking of which…  I turned around and there was Wolfram, vomiting with tears in his eyes…

Novel 4. ch.3 -Free gayness-

“… The World’s Dongs!?”

“Not ‘dongs,’ dangerous.  It says ‘The World’s Dangerous Animals,’” said Conrad.

My reading ability is still lacking.

“What are you doing, Yuuri?  That’s a bath for beauty.  What am I going to do if you get even more beautiful?”

Blathering on with his weird aesthetic sense, Wolfram quickly walks away.  

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.3 -Same as usual-

Because it would be a problem if the assassin and the target were paired together, Wolfram and I are in the same room.  It’s the same as usual.

There were sounds coming from the adjacent room for a while, but by the time my digital analog G-shock told me it was nine, it was completely quiet.  The last thing I heard as I was on my 50th sit-up after throwing my sheets aside was a door shutting and footsteps leading away.

“… Conrad went out!”

The third son, who had turned off the lamp and was slowly drinking some local wine in the moonlight, showed no interest.

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.3 -more yuuram-

“So, what do you think?”

“About what?”

“About Conrad because he’s half human, what do you think?”

As his little brother, this question seems to trouble him.  He lets out a low grunt and falls silent.

“I don’t care about the past.  I’m talking about since I’ve come here.”

“… That’s…”

Moving away from the table by the window, I playfully kick the third son as he sits on the bed.  It was my way of telling him that I’d want a detailed answer sooner or later. “How long are you going to sit there drinking alcohol like an old man?  Well, I guess there’s no helping that since you’re 82.”

My overseer wasn’t around and my right ankle felt awesome and I felt 9 o’clock was too early to call it a day.

“Hey, let’s go have some hot spring town nightlife fun.  Like ring toss or target practice or smart ball[7].”

Wolfram immediately returned to his arrogant behavior and sniffed in derision.

“Nightlife fun?  I’ve gotten bored of that childish nonsense.”

“H-hey!  Don’t tell me you’re just going to go to sleep…”

Without even waiting for me to finish talking, he lays down for bed.

“… Well I guess it can’t be helped…. He is 82.”

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.4 -why is he feeling guilty tho-

Just in case, I wait until I can hear Wolfram’s signature ‘Gghgpihh-ghgpihh’ before I get dressed and leave the room.  I don’t really think I need it, but to alleviate some of my guilt, I bring along Windpipe No. 1.  Wearing round sunglasses at nighttime and a flashy pink knit hat and using a cane even though I can walk perfectly fine, I’m a very suspicious nightwalker.

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.4 -Wolf’s dream connecting to Yuuri in RL-

“I’m against H (sex) without love!  Here, put this on!”

Trying to hide my embarrassment in vigorous movement, I rip off my down jacket.  It’s a lot heavier than a ‘Made in Modern Japan’ version, but the warmth is the same.

“… Thank you.”

Around that time, Wolfram was having a dream.

Yuuri screamed, “I’m against H (sex) without love!” and he replied with “If you’re talking about love, it’s right here,” but in his mind he was thinking, ‘what does he mean, by H?’’

His snore was ‘ghghpihh-ghghpihh’ as always.

Have a nice dream.

“Oh, it’s your fiancé and Mr. Kakunoshi-“

“Yuuri, you jerk!”

Raising his manicured eyebrows, Wolfram grabs my collar and lifts me up.

“Running around playing in the red-light district when you have someone like me…  how frivolous can you be!?”

“Ugh, Wolf, I, I can’t, bre-breathe!”

“Do you have any idea how much Conrart lectured me because of this!?”

(…)

“Hey, the one who went out gallivanting with girls first was you, wasn’t it? (…)”

“I wasn’t going to hang out with girls.  I just had something to give to an acquaintance.  The child was sleeping soundly, and because I heard some suspicious breathing coming from the next room, I thought it would be impolite to stay and listen to the sounds of you making love so…”

“We weren’t making anything!”

That was me doing sit ups.  We’re not a couple from fifty years ago so why would we come to a hot spring for our honeymoon.  Anyway, please notice.  We’re both guys, alright!?

“Uh, Mr. Mitsuemon?  Mr. Kakunoshin?  Who are Yuuri and Conrart..?”

“Oh sorry, sorry.  That’s me.  I’m the crepe silk dealer from Echigo, Mitsuemon, with the pen name, Yuuri.” “Your pen(is) has a name?”

Pretty boy, I’m not sure if you’re out of sorts, you were trying to make a joke, or if you’re just an airhead.

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.7 - Wolf healing Hube scene-

Half asleep with his eyes half open, Wolfram bites back an indiscreet yawn.

“Ya’anna heal Gegenhuber with healin’ magic, righ?”

“You’re not speaking properly.”

“Why ‘on’t you ask me?”

My powers of comprehension can’t keep up with this unexpected utterance

“Because Wolf… did you have that kind of skill?”

“I’m not as skilled as Gisela, but I do have some experience with raising people’s natural healing.  There’s no way I can’t perform a technique that even the likes of you can do.  Because you’re a-”

“Henachoko.”

The Pretty Boy gives a satisfied snort and repeats ‘are you asking me to heal him?’  I do so without a second’s hesitation.  I don’t care if he calls me a wimp.

“All right Yuuri, watch closely.  This is how you use the healing arts.  Hey Gegenhuber!”

Rather than hold his hand, he grabs his wrist, roughly shakes it around and yells at him.

“You listening, you injured guy!?   I don’t want to help you, but I am because Yuuri said ‘please!’  If you live any longer, thank him! (…).”

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.8 - Maou scene-

“This is strange,” Wolfram murmured with a skeptical expression.

“Dragons?  It’s strange; there’s no way his magic could be so refined.”

“Wolf, I think that’s a bit rude.”

“No, it’s clearly strange.  Ah, did he get a lover!?  And now he’s trying to show his good side…”

“… That’s so cool…”

(…)“So he’s trying to show his good side to his daughter.”

It seems he’s become aware of himself as a parent. ————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.9 - I’d go out with him-

Light reaches my optic nerves and even the underside of my eyelids turn white.  Bearing my pain and opening my eyes, I see that right above me are shining golden hair and lake’s bottom green blinking down at me.  If only he was a girl, I’d deal with his attitude and go out with him.

“… but anway… uwah!  Why did you put my head on your lap again!?”

Rolling across the grass three times, I distance myself from Wolfram’s lap.  My limbs are heavy and my throat is parched and there is an unbearable ache in the back of my head.

Propping myself up with my arms behind me, I look up at the sky and take a deep breath.

“My head hurts.  I feel like I’m going to vomit.”

“It’s a lack of sleep.”

Citing this working class condition, Wolfram throws a towel at me.

“Wipe your face; there’s still some drool on it.  After using that much magic, usually you would rest a long time, but today you haven’t even slept for half that.  Headaches and nausea are a given.”

(…)Wolfram lent me his shoulder.  I didn’t think it would be so tiring to not sit back down.  I feel like I’m being crushed by the heavy air and like gravity has doubled.

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.9 - Family time-

Wondering when she learned how to speak so un-cutely, I stop in surprise.  But the one who spoke was Wolfram as he kicked at the ground in exasperation.

“How thick can the two of you be?  Seriously, like parent, like child.”

“Wolf, this isn’t about you-”

“The reason her mother sent her to Svelera and the reason you’re leaving her in the care of this ‘baldy’ is the same.”(…)

This ex-prince and third son who has a super beautiful mother and two manly older brothers does everything with pride and he had faith in the love that he was showered with.

“I’m doing this with your benefit in mind.”

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.9 - Goodbye-

When I had to part ways with Greta I was wailing in front of everyone, but no one laughed at me.  Anyway, Hyscliff promised that he’d make her visit after a month.  Now that I think about it, it’s been less than ten days since that child appeared before me.   When I turned to comment on the fact that it hasn’t really been long enough for me to properly develop the emotions of a parent, I found Wolfram fiercely crying.

————————————————————————————– Novel 4. ch.10 - Because bathing alone is awkward…  yeah, right. Keep chanting your mantra boi-

Because it’s awkward to bathe alone in that huge bath, at night I make Wolfram come with me for bath time.  I feel like if I spend time with him naked in the huge baths, we can form a friendship as men instead of he and his flirty fiancé.  The problem is that as we’re deepening our friendship, he’s getting discouraged.

Why, Wolfram von Bielefelt, are you so dissatisfied with friendship?

After I woke up paralyzed twice tonight, my eyes open and I can’t sleep anymore.

“Ah, it’s no use.  I can’t go to sleep without taking a bath.  Wolf, I’m going to take a bath.”

“Whadd’re ya sayin, you know whatime it is?  Stop bein’ so annoying.”

“This is kind of off topic, but your face looks like Kunie Tanaka.”

And you’re completely rude by just ignoring the fact that you’re living in my bed and saying whatever you want.

Reluctantly leaving my room by myself, I sneak down the late-night hallway.

Yuuram in Novel 13

There’s little yuuram in this novel until the very last scene (when after four full novels the royal couple reunites in the most heart-wrenching way possible). Novel 13 is mostly focused on “Murata and his other lives” , “Yuuri being trapped in the tunnels" and “Yuuri being saved by Conrad and mourning Josak’s death”, all important things that needed to get out of the way before we get the full yuuram impact of novel 14.

The cliffhanger is real

Novel 13. ch.6 -Reuniting. Yuuri has been blinded by the tunnel and confused by the tricks it plays on the minds of people in it-

The cold piece of metal was within my hand’s reach. I couldn’t afford to worry about my palm. The same goes for my enemy. He is coming at me to swing with the broken sword which doesn’t have a tip. Even I gripped the bare blade and quickly gave a horizontal swipe. The meal which was originally one sword, hurt two men at the same time. A hot stimulus ran through my right shoulder and there undoubtedly was some reaction in my left hand.

My opponent’s body suddenly kneeled over. The air which was filled with the smell of rusty iron surged towards me.

However finding the scent I certainly remember within it puzzled me. It wasn’t only the blood.

“Wolf…?”

“Yu”

The body that had collapsed in my arms slowly turned.

“Wolfram!?”

“…Yuuri”

My sleeves and palms were completely drenched in some warm liquid. Wolfram’s heaviness profoundly weighed down on my shoulders. While embracing him, I kneeled down on the ground miserably.

“I couldn’t see, really, I didn’t know!”

“Even me. I heard an unfamiliar voice… its not your… fault”

“Wolf!”

Everyone tells me that it’s not my fault.

But in reality, everything is my fault.

—————————————————– A little introspective on this scene: So why did Yuuri recognize Conrad’s voice but not Wolf’s? Well, Conrad wasn’t in the tunnel when he saw Yuuri and shouted his name (chapter 3), so he and his voice weren’t affected. Wolfram on the other hand was in the tunnel and his brain was affected like Yuuri’s, believing an enemy was about to attack and not recognizing the person in front of him.

I find it so cute that Yuuri recognized Wolf by his smell. By the way, did you notice how they stabbed each other? Once again we see them being ‘equals’ here. It could have been just Yuuri or Wolf, but no, the novel ends with the reunited couple stabbing each other. (What an unexpected and terrifyingly romantic ending was that though?)

Worry not, my yuuram fans! The next novel comes with a plethora of yuuram that will hit you right in the face and knock you down for good!

Your analysis and breakdown is awesome and detailed as always. It feels really good to read these and then remember the original at the same time!

I just love the way the whole scene plays and while Yuuri makes more than just a confession to Wolf. Plus, him giving Wolf anything also reminded me of the seisakoku arc. That arc was so bittersweet♡

For the point 3 though, I think they were already an accepted couple waaaay back right after that whole slap incident. (I think it's only Günter at this point who cannot properly digest it🤣)

Can never get enough of those cultural differences🤣🤣 Meow

Ok! But I would really recommend reading it.  I have said this many times, there's something about Takabayashi-sensei style, the way she writes her stories, that I really, really like.

Misepan 2

Title: Misepan, means "Showing panties". So the first part (written 2 years prior and almost completely disconnected of part 2), was about a bet Murata thought for Yuuri. Yuuri said he was unpopular and Murata said he wasn't and bet Yuuri he could get someone to "show him their panties."

Summary of part 1: In part 1, some chick was looking for a ring her bf gave her in the river and Yuuri helped her. That and the bet is the entire story.

Intro: Misepan 2 starts in Shin Makoku. The topic of 'lost item' continues. This time it's Yuuri who has lost something very important. A hand made necklace that Greta gave him.

The first part shows Yuuri and Wolfram around the castle. Yuuri tells Wolf he's looking for the necklace because he lost it. They meet Cherie-sama, who is wearing a maid suit and bunny ears and tells Yuuri that she wants Wolf to wear the same to attract customers for her new shop (a bar to find love).

Wolfram says he will refuse because of the bunny ears, because Yuuri hates rabbits (the mascot of Seibu Lions opposite team is an orange rabbit). Cherie mentions Wolfram used to love rabbits as a kid, because cats grabbed the attention of Gwen, and that they need Wolfram's help to cure Yuuri's rabbit-hate. (Yuuri is thinking he doesn't hate rabbits just that mascot from that team).

Yuuri calls Wolfram 'Honey-chan', and Wolfram gets angry and tells him that because he's younger he doesn't have a right to call him that. (Yuuri monologues that 'it hurt him to have Wolf remind him he is younger’)

When Yuuri mentions the lost item made by Greta, Cherie-sama remembers the 'pig soap' that Wolfram made for her. To which Wolfram mentions that it wasn't a pig, it was, of course, Cherie-sama herself. XD Cherie sama goes speechless due to the shock and Yuuri pulls Wolfram by the hand, and trots away from that place; so that he wouldn't see them fight.

Wolfram and Yuuri are alone again, and when Yuuri reveals he needs the necklace because he's going with Greta to the zoo the next day, Wolfram starts unbuttoning his shirt.

Yuuri panics saying he shouldn't be exposing his skin , people could see him ! What if some younger girl saw his bare exposed chest!  Yuuri is making a huge scene as if Wolfram were undressing. He seems jealous that someone might steal a glimpse of his beautiful chest.

At any rate, Wolfram shows him a necklace, just like Yuuri's. So it turns out that Greta made the same necklace for all 3 people in the family, Wolf, Yuuri and herself. Yuuri also notices that the stone used in all 3 are the color of Wolfram's eyes.

Wolfram says he will lend it to Yuuri for the zoo trip.

Important scene:

Yuuri holds Wolfram's necklace still around Wolf's neck with both hands, and then pushes it against Wolfram's chest.

And says he can't accept borrowing it.

Wolfram asks why, wouldn't you do the same for me, if I needed something and you had it.

Yuuri says: "Of course I would."

At this moment, Yuuri has both his hands on Wolfram's bare chest. He goes into a monologue about how anyone would get 'blood rushing' to their brain, if they had both hands on their partner's bare chest, feeling how their heartbeat is the same as their own, and were thinking about something serious. He's overwhelmed and needs to take a moment.

Then he says:" when it comes to things that I can give you, I would give you anything, Wolf. But this is different. Because it's a handmade item. I'm sure that the shape of the stone is slightly different."

--------------------------------------------------- Important scene analysis: This scene is huge. Let’s analyze:

Yuuri: 1) Has both hands on Wolfram's bare chest 2) Gets blood rushing to his brain (to be taken literal and/or a symbolism for arousal) 3) feels Wolfram's heartbeat beating at the same rhythm as his own (symbolism for being in sync, one person, in love) 4) is thinking about everything he would "do" 5) says he's thinking about "something serious"

He's overwhelmed. Can't function. He takes a while to calm down and when he does, he tells Wolfram that "When it comes to things he can 'give him' he would give him anything."

Do you remember the 5 last points? Touching Wolf, aroused, in love, thinking about Wolf, and a "serious matter".

The undertone here is that 'anything' is referring to his virginity.

There was a time in novel 2, when he thought he was going to 'lose " his virginity to Wolf. But here, he's very clear when he says, he would 'give' it to him. It's those little things in the stories that brings back a memory of past things that happened and wraps them up with a little bow.

It's such a good scene. And although it has this sexual undertone, I like to see it more for the theme of 'sacrifice'.

He loves Wolf so much there is nothing he wouldn't give to Wolf. His virginity is cool, but what about his life? Is he thinking about that? If he's thinking about everything he would give to him, and this overwhelmed him. Is he thinking about that too?

I mean, who hasn't thought of that? What would you do for a loved one? How far would you go? And here Yuuri says it clearly to Wolfram, he would give him anything.

Second part Gwendal is trying to find Yuuri because he found out about the lost item and thinks it can cause an international problem. The rumors have exaggerated what happened. Conrad also shows up, and Wolfram tells Yuuri to escape. Conrad follows him and Wolf stays there to stop Gwendal.

Yuuri sees Wolf as the bravest man alive, then this scene happens:

---------------------- Interesting scene: Wolfram: "Don't worry! It is a husband's job to rub their henachoko wife's ass!"

Yuuri: "Wait isn't it, maybe, "It is a wife's job to wipe her husband's ass" ? Yeah, maybe. No, I mean, I'm sure."

Conrad: "Eh? You're letting him call you henachoko? How generous. Well, then let us rely on Lord von Bielefeld's words"

------------------------ Analysis of this scene: Preamble: Before we get into it-> Because Japan has like a 4000 year old culture, and the 'couples' terms are always 'female' and 'male', we see a lot of 'wife' and 'husband' even between two males. Some may read into it (the top/bottom stereotype from the 90s), and I will analyze it too, but there's also a lot about 'kanjis' having certain associations that don't really fit the gender of same sex partners.

Analysis:

1) Wolfram makes a joke about rubbing Yuuri's ass (and asserts he's the husband and it's his duty)

2) Yuuri says the proverb is incorrect and "Isn't it "it's the wife's duty to wipes her husband ass?" But then he says maybe I don't know, I'm not sure.

3) Conrad is only surprised at the lack of complain of "henachoko", and not all the other married couple/sexual innuendos they've been throwing at each other.

This is the Conrad I love. He's so supportive of Yuuri and Wolf. He could have said something like "Wait, how long have you been married?" and make them both self conscious, but he didn't.  Conrad is great, and I love him and he deserves all the best. I'm a yuuram fan, but I love Conrad. He's an awesome character and a sweety. He's been through so much and I feel sorry for everything he's been put through, simply because the fans forced Takabayashi sensei to bring him back from the dead. (Additional info: Conrad was supposed to die in novel 5 and Takabayashi sensei spent many years trying to kill him after that, but the 'Conrad' fans didn't let her. This has lead to Conrad just 'floating around' in the novels... she was so angry she even made him the enemy for a while)

About the proverb: I couldn't find the actual proverb Wolf and Yuuri are talking about. The internet says two things: 1) it's a wife's duty to cut her husband's ear hair, and 2) it's a wife's duty to take care of her husband's arousal. Now I have no clue whether either of them are old sayings ... I simply couldn't find it.

But here's my interpretation. 1) Wolf says it's his duty to protect Yuuri as the husband 2) Yuuri says isn't that the wife's role? and in the end he's confused about the proverb. I think Takabayashi-sensei is 1, throwing sexual innuendos as usual here, and 2 is bringing ambiguity to the whole top/bottom stereotype. "Is he the top? Am I? I don't know", is what Yuuri says about this.

I think, as mentioned before, sensei addresses the top/bottom topic (because it's actually very uncommon not to bring it up), and says : yeah whatever, who cares.

Third part : Yuuri has a scene with Conrad, where he realizes that his necklace was shorter than Wolf’s so that both, the blue maseki and the emerald necklace Greta made, won’t become entangled. Yuuri is moved thinking that Greta even thought about that.

They find the necklace Yuuri lost, and this part ends with:

"Things will always return to the place they should be."

This makes me happy. It makes me think that Yuuri will always be back to Shin Makoku no matter what. I hope that Takabayashi-sensei sticks to her words.

And there’s another clear meaning: Conrad (blue maseki) and Wolf (the emerald necklace) will not entangle and cause problems. Conrad will continue to be the friend, and Wolf will continue to be the spouse, and the ‘necklaces’ won’t disturb one another. Another very important symbolism. Everyone has their place and role, and won’t mix, entangle or bother Yuuri.

Last part:

The end of the story goes back to the main story in Misepan 1. So Yuuri is there with the chick looking for her bf’s ring. An old dude sees them, then the three find a bag full of gold in the river and they appear on TV.

In the end, Yuuri gets shown panties "mise pan" by the old dude. And the story wraps itself with a joke.

In the afterword Takabayashi sensei admits she didn't know how to end the story. This means, for what I can understand, that she just wanted to talk about the royal family necklace and Yuuri and Wolf, while finishing up a story he had to finish for the DVD set.

The main reasons why I love this story :

1) There’s a new canon yuuram trope:" the family necklace”. This necklace is the color of Wolfram’s eyes. Greta was the one to chose it, too. She could have chosen ‘black’, the royal color and the color of Yuuri’s hair and eyes (that everyone loves in Shin Makoku), but instead she chose the color of Wolf’s eyes. I feel this is a symbolism Takabayashi sensei threw in there to make sure everyone understands it’s not Yuuri and Greta anymore, Wolfram is 100% part of that family, and it’s his color that binds the family together.

2) Yuuri’s line: “When it comes to things that I can give you I would give you anything Wolf”. As analyzed before, this is the ultimate expression of love, and he has said it clearly to Wolfram out in the open.

3) Yuuri and Wolf as established as a couple as they can be, not only between themselves, but also by others. Out in the open they’re calling each other husband and wife (in front of Dacascos and Conrad), and no one even questions this. Meaning it’s been a long time since people have known them as such.

4) Yuuri calling Wolfram Honey-chan (and Wolfram getting angry due to cultural misunderstandings)

Anyway, it’s a really great story! Please read it!

August 3, Honey Day

So I know there’s a lot of Wolfram fans around, and I’m always upset that there’s no official Wolfram Birthday, or Wolfram Day (Like we do have : Jozak’s Day 4/3 ,  Lion’s Day 4/4, Murata’s B-day 6/6, Yuuri’s Bday 7/29 ) ; but we do have Hachimitsu Day/Honey Day, which is today August 3. I think we should really start celebrating August 3 as Wolfram’s Day, since this is his pet name.
