THIS is EXACTLY WHY I LOVE the LIGHT NOVEL!! Takabayashi-sensei's work is amazing!!
Also Wolfram always says he "loves and respects" Yuuri, which is not convincing enough as a confession because it basically refers to his love for him as a king.
I just love their interactions in the LN!!
Hello~~ I want to know your hc about how yuuri confession to wolfram đ
There are no headcanons needed, as Yuuri has already confessed plenty in novels and manga.
Chapter 108 where he tells Wolfram âI finally caught youâ , using the same words Wolf used when he saved him. As Wolfram will say later on âthe catchingâ is of course, falling in love.
Novel 9, chapter 9
-He tells Wolfram âYouâre cuteâ (Wolfram misunderstands and thinks Yuuri wants to turn him into a human sacrifice. Oh novels, I love you so~!)Â
In Japanese culture: You donât go around telling people theyâre cute, unless you like them.
Novel 14, chapter 7-
-The bed scene because itâs a tree that keeps on giving is a confession too (1)âThank goodness I still have you beside me.â(2)âYouâre being so honest about your feelings, itâs sickening.â(3) âI donât even have the strength to pretend anymore.â
Not only does Yuuri confess (1), but Wolfram acknowledges the confession and makes sure that Yuuri is saying what he thinks heâs saying (2); Yuuri confirms (3)
This scene is really spectacular in the drama cds (cd56, disc 1, track 11), first because there are some added words to it, second because you can hear the tone in their voices. Although the word âsickeningâ might not intuitively feel like love in English, it works in the context in Japanese. Wolfram is pretty much saying âyouâre being straightforward about your feelingsâ and Yuuri is saying, âyeah I amâ.
-Novel 15, chapter 5Yuuri asks Wolfram :âWhatâs the meaning of that punch to my stomach? Do you want a divorce? To remarry another person?â
I think weâre a bit past âconfessionsâ once Yuuri starts assuming that theyâre married.
- End of Seisakoku arc (nv.15, chapter 8)Marriage talk continues: Yuuri accuses Wolfram of domestic violenceâŠ. If youâre not family, itâs not domestic violence, itâs just violence. Once again, Wolfram misunderstands the whole thing. In novel 15.5 heâll talk about Domestic violence again, this time feeling bad himself for having stabbed Wolfram back then.
And for those of you who havenât read my past analyses:Japanese people donât say I love you (aishiteiru is never used in rl). They rarely say âI like youâ. A vast majority of MARRIED couples have never said âI love/like youâ (suki da).Â
In Japanese there are all sorts of euphemisms to say you like someone, without having to use the words.
And if saying that âThe moon looks beautiful tonightâ is a love confession, I think that asking someone if they are trying to divorce you, has a very âweâre a married â tone to it, no?Â
AND, if the âLove Letterâ story in the last doujinshi, where they write things they like about each other, arenât 26 damn love confessions then I donât know what is!
Itâs lovely how yuuram fans (not just you, lovely batkray) all want a confession from Yuuri âŠ. but no one wants one from Wolf? Why not?Â
Is it because he tells Yuuri heâs beautiful? Well, guess what? Yuuri always replies with a âyouâre more beautiful than I amâ to Wolf.
Is it because he sneaks into Yuuriâs bed? Well, guess what? Yuuri is the one who lets him come into his room, sleep, and stay with him. There IS a lock in the door. (novel 4)Is it because Wolfram pretty much jumped Yuuri to have sex with him in the second novel? Well, guess what? Yuuri didnât say no. He panicked a bit and jumped into the ofuro saying âYou donât want to do it with a smelly guy, right?â He was buying himself time, not knowing he was returning to earth, and his mouth intuitively said yes to Wolf. âYes, lemme take a bathâFor those of you who donât know this: Japanese people ALWAYS take a bath before sex. Yuuri didnât run back outside to the corridor to get help (pretty sure there are soldiers guarding him around the clock), he went to the ofuro TO TAKE A BATH! He even said the wordsâ You donât want to do it with a smelly guyâ.
Didnât Yuuri go above and beyond confessing? Donât Yuuriâs words and actions count, too? Didnât he choose Wolf to go with him on an âadventureâ, knowing it would just be the two of them in Seisa arc? Didnât he call Wolfram cute? Didnât he almost loose himself when he thought Wolf was dead? Doesnât he constantly think about Wolframâs beauty and braveness, and is terrified of that time when Wolf almost died? Didnât he tell Wolfram heâs happy to have him in the bed scene? Didnât he get in bed with Wolfram to get comforted by him, telling him he couldnât pretend anymore? Didnât Yuuri ask Wolfram if his punch meant âdivorceâ? Doesnât he talk about Wolfram and himself as having âdomestic violenceâ issues? Didnât he COMPLAIN that Wolfram isnât sleeping with him since Seisa? Doesnât he refer to Wolfram as Gretaâs father!? Doesnât he say that Wolfram is the only one who can understand him when it comes to parenting Greta? Didnât he tell Wolfram in misepan 2 that he would give him anything Wolfram wanted? Wolfram didnât say that⊠Yuuri said that! Didnât he sit down to write wonderful things about Wolf in âLove Letterâ? The doujinshi is called Love Letter! And how about Crossheart? The story where he asks Wolfram if he would cry if Yuuri wasnât there anymore? Yuuri plainly said he WOULD cry, and Wolfram said he wouldnât because he didnât want Yuuri to be sadâŠ. Not to mention that before Wolfram explained himself, Yuuri immediately felt hurt because he thought a fiance should cry.
Conversely: Has he ever done any of these things, thought any of these things towards anyone else? Is anyone else Gretaâs father? Did he tell anyone else he would give them anything they want? Did he ask anyone else if they wanted a divorce!?Â
In my opinion, anyone refusing to accept that Yuuri has confessed to Wolfram, has professed his love with words and actions has simply not read the novels; or is negating half the canon to fit some other ship.
JingYi being JingYi... (I almost mistook him for WuXian...)
Hereâs your chance to steal Lan clan headbandsâ( ă )ÙÂ
P1: I wanted to see XiChen big bro with his hair downâŠ
P2: When out traveling, SiZhui seems like the responsible one in charge of waking everyone up on time. JingYiâŠcould get out of bed on time, but he wonât be fully awake XD
Gyun is beyond saving!!
I just realise... Does Kyo Kara Maoh actually an Isekai Anime/Manga/Light Novel?!! The kind of Isekai Anime that ALWAYS with Male Protagonist so far with Harem! Except rather than Female Harem, Yuuri get the Male Harem!??!
WellâŠyes haha. It is an isekai of course, and yeah, itâs a harem where Yuuri got all the nice guys XDÂ
But what I love about this series is how it parodies all the stereotypes, like the wonderful guy whoâs incredibly beautiful but has massive nosebleeds and disgustingly snots all over Yuuri when he cries, the perfect sweet normal guy who sucks telling jokes and has a creepy side, the stoic mature and handsome guy who loves cute stuff and knits, the young prince-like whoâll puke all around in boats, the ripped spy whoâs flashy and cross dresses, the macho guy whoâs extremely good at cookingâŠ
She broke every one of them in a funny way haha, specially Gyun, she broke him too much.
On point....
I kinda wanna see you draw something tragic
there you goâŠ.
Like always. I get it that Conrart is best boi (no, it's Wolf obviously, but anyway) for most but that doesn't mean you get to do this.
I started off with the anime (through Youtube way back a few years) and never associated with comments or anything. Even then, with all the ConYu going on and Wolf being shown as a possessive fiance, I still preferred YuuRam over all (And why did we have SaraĂYuuri again? It is clear that Yuuri in the novels was very clear on who was the most beautifully handsome angel in existence. The anime was so frustrating later that most of the time I just wanted Wolf to be loved- Wolfram is so much more that what the anime makes him to be). Then I discovered about the manga when I was surfing through YuuRam images (after stuffing myself with a lot of ffs- mostly anime based). The manga had so many more YuuRam scenes and the plot felt better (till it stopped following the novel- but it was still acceptable). Then ofc I discovered a queer picture that looked like a manga but wasn't like it- Thus I discovered this masterpiece of a novel! (Though most of the illustrations feel so baised towards ConYu... I can baredly get YuuRam scenes). My love for YuuRam and our angel Honey-chan has been growing all this while (from anime to novel and beyond).
I am actually glad I discovered MaruMa now, as we have all the novels properly translated and all. I feel so bad for the whole franchise, as not only YuuRam but even the characters were compromised to keep up to the wishes. The best thing about this novel is how it breaks so many stereotypes! Japan has an obsessiveness with constancy. One of the reasons for ConYu gaining more favour was because of that. At that point the only known trope in Yaoi was strong tall semeĂmeek small uke. While at that point, when the cover was enough for you to know the positions, Takabayashi-sensei introduced a couple who were, in every way, equal.
Since we are talking about ffs, I read a lot of them before reading the manga (and still read sometimes) and most of them were YuuRam! We are talking around 2009s. At that point, most of the KKM international fans were that of the anime. Still there were so many of them who wanted so much more of YuuRam that they wrote down their fantasies and wishes in the form of fanfics. There would've been so many more MaruMa fans if only they did it justice.
Yeah, so basically, I agree with the statement that don't try to change the canon. Nothing will come of it. Not even dying patients can escape from our angel's presence (so much so that they come to life) so how can mere mortals like us compete? And, the amount of fluff in the novels is pure bliss. Yuuri is more head-over-heels for Wolf than Wolfram and he is even starting to accept it already.
P.S: Sorry I went off on this long rant. I love this work too much! A must read work!!
Because watching the Yuuramâs video in BILIBILI website (Like a YouTube of China) in this year, I retrieved the love of Wolfyu. (Yuuram is ok for me now. I think both of them are the same.) I read these novels(KKM) 14 years ago, but I didnât want to find any other resource of KKMâs on the net then. I started to search them and met some Yuuramâs fans of China a few months ago. They told me some terrible things about the rumors of KKM. It really shocked me.
They knew Yuuram and loved them because of animate. They werenât willing to read the original of KKM, because someone spread the rumors that Conyuu is canon in novels without any Yuuram. In this era of network development, those rumormongers spread not only this rumors but also other rumors of all of Maruma authority are Conyuuâs fans including author, painter and official staffs. It made an amount of Yuuramâs fans in China sad and broke their hearts. They didnât know why Takabayashi sensei let Wolf got engaged to Yuuri. They thought It was unfair for Wolf after being told the canon is Conyuu. Those rumors made many of them so sad that they left this ship. Until now, many Yuuramâs fans of China believe those rumors. They also tell me the animate of KKM was ever popular in China until playing KKM 3rd season. But Wolframâs fans were still many in that time. I know KKM 3rd season is not good. Thatâs one of the main reasons they left quickly. The others are those rumors.
I tell them the truth. They start to read the novels and manga. After reading those, they never believe rumors that Conyuu is canon. They say itâs incredible that they have been tricked for 12 years. Itâs âtwo wrongs make a rightâ. Recently, we found the original of âLove Letterâ and translated it. They were as mad as hell because seeing incomplete version in Chinese before. That lost some parts of Yuuram and misinterpreted of the original. It made like a Conyuu novel more. That someone translating it is a Conyuuâs fan. They told me that Conyuuâs fans not only spread the rumors but also attacked Yuuramâs fans.
The one: They even grabbed the Baidu (the search engine of China) personal webmaster of Wolfâs and destroyed it a few years ago. Yuuramâs fans found that and complained to Baidu Official Website. This matter was resolved.
The other: They impersonated Yuuramâs fans to attack themselves and took a screenshot. They spread that Yuuramâs fans were too extreme to get along with them with a false evidence.
I donât know what to say that because itâs so preposterous and unbelievable. How crazy they were!
My friends and I know that itâs not all of Conyuuâs fans like them. But the crazy people are more than rational onesâ very much. We think they are so jealous of âRoyal Coupleâ that they do those terrible things.
Anyway, we decide to translate the shorten-novels in Chinese by ourselves. In Chain, they canât search the resources of KKM on foreign website due to some restriction. I provide those resources and my friends translate those. We want to let the Marumaâs fandom see the full translation. Itâs a huge project. We hope that rumors will be disappeared after promoting correct information in China. I believe we can do it.
âŠHere at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology. We didnât change any zodiac signs, we just did the math. Here are the details:
First Things First: Astrology is not AstronomyâŠ
Astronomy is the scientific study of everything in outer space. Astronomers and other scientists know that stars many light-years away have no effect on the ordinary activities of humans on Earth.
Astrology, meanwhile, is something else. Itâs the belief that the positions of stars and planets can influence human events. Itâs not considered a science.
Some curious symbols ring the outside of the Star Finder. These symbols stand for some of the constellations in the zodiac. What is the zodiac and what is special about these constellations?
Imagine a straight line drawn from Earth though the sun and out into space way beyond our solar system where the stars are. Then, picture Earth following its orbit around the sun. This imaginary line would rotate, pointing to different stars throughout one complete trip around the sun â or, one year. All the stars that lie close to the imaginary flat disk swept out by this imaginary line are said to be in the zodiac.
The constellations in the zodiac are simply the constellations that this imaginary straight line points to in its year-long journey.
What are Constellations?
A constellation is group of stars like a dot-to-dot puzzle. If you join the dotsâstars, that isâand use lots of imagination, the picture would look like an object, animal, or person. For example, Orion is a group of stars that the Greeks thought looked like a giant hunter with a sword attached to his belt. Other than making a pattern in Earthâs sky, these stars may not be related at all.
Even the closest star is almost unimaginably far away. Because they are so far away, the shapes and positions of the constellations in Earthâs sky change very, very slowly. During one human lifetime, they change hardly at all.
A Long History of Looking to the Stars
The Babylonians lived over 3,000 years ago. They divided the zodiac into 12 equal parts â like cutting a pizza into 12 equal slices. They picked 12 constellations in the zodiac, one for each of the 12 âslices.â So, as Earth orbits the sun, the sun would appear to pass through each of the 12 parts of the zodiac. Since the Babylonians already had a 12-month calendar (based on the phases of the moon), each month got a slice of the zodiac all to itself.
But even according to the Babyloniansâ own ancient stories, there were 13 constellations in the zodiac. So they picked one, Ophiuchus, to leave out. Even then, some of the chosen 12 didnât fit neatly into their assigned slice of the pie and crossed over into the next one.
When the Babylonians first invented the 12 signs of zodiac, a birthday between about July 23 and August 22 meant being born under the constellation Leo. Now, 3,000 years later, the sky has shifted because Earthâs axis (North Pole) doesnât point in quite the same direction.
The constellations are different sizes and shapes, so the sun spends different lengths of time lined up with each one. The line from Earth through the sun points to Virgo for 45 days, but it points to Scorpius for only 7 days. Â To make a tidy match with their 12-month calendar, the Babylonians ignored the fact that the sun actually moves through 13 constellations, not 12. Then they assigned each of those 12 constellations equal amounts of time.
So, we didnât change any zodiac signsâŠwe just did the math.

Miyano holding Sasaki's face in his hands đ
Can you believe these two?? The way Miyano mirrors Sasakiâs motions because heâs completely head-over-heels in love with him too?? God I die
Julia was one of the strongest woman of Shin Makoku. And, if she, at the very least, shares even one trait with Yuuri- which she most obviously does, including a more valiant spirit than him- then I don't think sitting still would be in her list of options. And I think her death might've been orchestrated. I don't think she'd just let herself die like that even under pressure.
In essence, Shinou's a jerk and a tyrant. He should really mend his ways a bit.
Thoughts on Susannah Julia?
Hi there @halfbloodworthy!
Hereâs my thing with Julia: we only know about her through other peopleâs words. I would totally take a full novel with her story from her point of view any day. (Would have been preferable over that âthe facade of the lady whatevsâ )
Also, I feel like there are inconsistencies about her, especially when it comes to her death:
Would you really be âhappyâ to die to let some rando become maou? What? She was gonna get married. She had trained a ton throughout her life (80+ years I calculated). She got a position in the military despite her blindness. She was a bad-ass. She fought bears. She had friends, a life, a future. She was one of the three great witches⊠Why couldnât SHE be the new maou?
And hereâs another inconsistency: Shinou told Conrad that Julia said she wanted him to carry her soul to earth, BUTâŠ. according to Gunter in novel 1 âYuuriâs soulâ was supposed to be reborn in Shin Makoku, but because âthere were people who tried to take the soul , political issues, etcâ Shinou DECIDED 'after the factâ that the new maou was going to be born on earthâŠ. SO⊠how could Julia have known the future (Yuuri born on Earth) if, allegedly, not even Shinou knew?
Furthermore, considering the last novel, novel 17, where Shinou is pressuring Wolf (to allegedly practice to control his box) to keep a secret from Yuuri, âor else Yuuri and his family gets itâ, I wonder if Shinou didnât do the same to Julia and said: âAight girl, either you die or Adalbertâ, and thatâs how she âhappily gave her lifeâ -> for Adalberts.
Who would be happy to die for someone who you know nothing about? What if Yuuri was an asshole? A tyrant? A piece of shit? How could she had known?! And she was young, in love, engaged! Loved by everyone, it seems.
I also have my serious doubts about Cherie, and how much she has been Shinouâs hand on land to get things happening .
Oops! She magically chose the 3 descendants of the 3 keys? And guess what? She befriended the 4th key⊠well well well. Isnât that a nice little coincidence? And she also called in Conrad to get his opinion on the dress. Oopsie daisies, it must be all that air in her head. And then Julia died.
Seems pretty fishy to me.
So my opinion on Julia: She was probably cool af. She studied a lot to be one of the best, so thatâs also pretty chill. I believe she was probably forced to kill herself through some sort of manipulation and wasnât actually âhappyâ about dying. And what I can say is that I donât believe a word from Shinouâs mouth, even if I donât know what really happened to her.Â
