REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE (1955)
All the time I’ve been… I’ve been looking for someone to love me. And now I love somebody. And it’s so easy. Why is it easy now?
REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE (1955)

I am unable to claim unemployment benefits as I was only at my last job for six months, just by reblogging this would signal boost this. But it’s got to the point where I have very little in my bank account and am finding it hard to afford some stuff that I need. (Monthly Medication Subscription, Ect.) My Ko-Fi is linked below.. thank you for taking the time to read this!

Hello! I am Miłosz, 25 years old transgender man from Poland. I am asking for your support to help me afford top surgery.
I’ve been on testosterone for 1,5 years and I’m feeling much better about my body, but my chest is still a source of constant discomfort. I have back problems and cannot bind my chest for longer amounts of time – I can survive maybe one or two hours, not more, which means I usually go without it. But, as you can probably guess, going outside as a person with a beard and with visible chest isn’t the safest thing to do. People looking at me with confusion in their eyes is one thing, but there’s also a risk of someone reacting with disgust and aggression. So, putting aside my personal gender dysphoria, getting top surgery is simply a question of safety in my daily life.
This is something I cannot afford on my own. My family is both unable and unwilling to help me. I have only a part-time job (that I love! teaching kids history is amazing!) and everything I earn goes to other things, primarily medical expenses, so I can’t save anything for the surgery. In recent years, attitudes towards LGBT people in Poland went from rather negative to openly hostile, thanks to hard work of our politicians trying to win the elections by blaming LGBT people for many things, like teenage suicides, and accussing us of destroying families or even of child exploitation. Unfortunately, this strategy worked very well. And, as one of the results, my chances of getting a better paying job are close to non-existent.
The surgery costs 17500 PLN (including travel costs and post-op care) which equals to roughly 4750 USD / 3350 GBP / 3900 EUR. I have no way of getting this amount of money myself, even in many years. So I wanted to ask for help. Getting this surgery would simply make my life much, much better, even in this awful place that is Poland right now. If you could spare anything, I would be deeply grateful (especially considering the exchange rate, your 5$ is worth much more here) 🍒
this is an urgent situation!! a north african lesbian woman is trying to flee her country because her own brother is blackmailing her and threatening to out her to her parents.
partial gfm description:
“Hello, my name is Mei/Mim I am a lesbian from the global south (specifically North Africa but for my safety I can’t precise where) I have been struggling for years in a country that criminalizes my identity [...]
I have been closeted my entire life however last year my younger brother found out about my sexuality somehow and has been mentally blackmailing me with it. He already attempted to out me once but I was able to control the situation however I now live in a state constant fear of what he can do next especially since I know that if my family does find out about this, I will not be able to carry on living (the best things that can happen is that I get disowned and thrown to the streets) and the pressure of this has taken a huge toll on my mental health.”

gonna forgo the usual rage monologue about the pharmaceutical industry here and get right to it: a coworker just shared this fundraiser for a family they know whose kid has spinal muscular atrophy and needs a single dose of lifesaving gene therapy before his third birthday on may 27th (at which point he'll no longer be eligible).
they're just over seventy percent funded, but it costs just over two million dollars for this one-time treatment that can stop (and potentially reverse) the effects of SMA, which otherwise has pretty severe mortality rates. they need about $640k in the next week. only so much I can do on my little slice of the internet but if you can spare any kinds of donation here it'll put my own soul at ease and could make an immense difference for ayaansh.
so i still haven’t been able to secure a job, even after my last interview. I’ve been looking and applying and the rare occasions i do get called in to interview, I don’t get a callback regardless of how well I do. I’m asking y’all again if you could please help out so that my girlfriend and I can pay for our rent, utilities, groceries, and help getting to and from places. I’m asking for $600 this time just like last month, and would be endlessly grateful if yall found it in ur hearts to donate so that we can stay afloat as I look for more opportunities.

the fact it’s been 3 years since grenfell tower tragedy. i remember going past the shell a month or so after it happened and seeing the empty shell where many people lost their lives.
if you don’t know about grenfell, you should read up on it. a tower block burnt to the ground three years ago in london, leaving 72 people dead (though this number might be higher.) due to cladding that had been applied to make the tower block more sightly for the area. majority of the people living there were black and poc. a lot of neglect led up to this tragedy and the residents paid for it. probably one of the worst tragedy’s to come out of the UK since the war.
it’s harrowing. couple of things to remember:
- the tragedy was due to gentrification, classism and structural racism.
- not to mention safety neglect. Grenfell did not have sprinklers in the building. the leader of the kensington borough had said that putting sprinklers in the building would delay refurbishment. (😪)
- important to remember that a majority of the residents were black/poc and refugees and working class.
- the cladding used on the building was £22 per square metre. fireproof cladding was £24 per square meter. that £2 difference could have made a difference. the cheaper option was used. £2 more was too expensive to use for these residents lives? appalling.
- 300 tower blocks still use this flammable cladding today. that’s estimated 23,000 families/households. (tory) government said they’d work on removing flammable cladding from these buildings when the tragedy happened. three years later were still waiting...
- previous Grenfell residents are still waiting to be rehoused and are still in temporary housing three years later.
- 72 deaths occured from this tragedy but there are still people unaccounted for
- it’s been three years and there is still no justice for these people and nobody has been held accountable. truly atrocious.
i will see if there’s any petitions/donation sites that i will compile in the next few hours. i’ll reblog them and they’ll be in the notes.
