Do You Think The Reason Hiccup Is So Good At Listening And Understanding Others Is Because He Never Got

"the longest day" is fucking hilarious. the a plot is hiccup and toothless going absolutely through it against a dragon mother ship and her fighter jets while the b plot is the rest of the gang being so mindfuckingly sleep-deprived they couldn't even wash dragons three times their size and said dragons throwing a coup by locking the gang up in a hole. like?

HTTYD2 AU where Stoick doesn't get hit with a plasma blast, but Drago still takes Toothless, and Stoick and Valka BOTH have to hold their kid back from keeping him from running after Toothless.

Also, Hiccup resting his head on his dad's shoulder in despair about Toothless being taken from him.

No one talks about how Snotlout is JUST as sassy and sarcastic as Hiccup. Especially in RTTE.

i love the idea that viggo's issue is that he's always overestimating the dragon riders and that's why he loses. other antagonists always underestimate them, they don't put in all the necessary precautions, which allows the riders to slip through, always throwing parties and gloating before the dragon is in the cage. but viggo?

my man takes so many precautions, his entire island is a war base, and yet, and YET the dragon riders got in by dyeing snotlout's hair blonde, giving him gucci boots and naming him sir ulgertorpe, SIR ULGERTORPE. viggo got catfished by snotlout with blonde hair. he's overestimating them so bad that the IDEA of them "just walking in" doesn't even come to mind. he's ready for fire and death to fall from the sky but a one-legged boy pulling a fast one on him breaks his fancy little english brain.

I’m genuinely considering writing a AU fic where Valka isn’t taken away to see if it would be a fun story/character study. It would be a one shot and from Valka’s perspective. Im either thinking of a narrative type or a ‘the many ways things could have gone down.’

I just got the idea of a time loop situation or a what if type fic of like ‘5 ways in which Valka’s decisions changed httyd’ or something.

Let me know if that’s something anyone wants or if anyone is interested in.

Question- I’m about 1/3 through writing my httyd princess bride AU and have enough material for around 3 chapters.

If you were to read it, would you want it to upload with a 3 chapter buffer or as a bigger word one shot?

It would honestly be an honor for it to be showcased in the next chapter! I’ve been loving Defiance and I’ve been reading it for around half a year haha.

The wings she has are very much used for song birds. Speaking out basically. And with what the wings are used for, I thought it fit for her story in the fic :)

I’ve been reading the fic Defiance for a while and Adora’s new look in it gave me inspiration to draw. I LOVE winged people. So much. 400k words in and I don’t remember if they mention lighting scars but I gave it to her anyway.

Also they didn’t mention what type of bird wings she has so I gave Adora Elliptical wings! They are used for short fast bursts of flight and are good for quick maneuvers :)

I'm re-watching Dragons: Defender's of Berk on episode 13 Scouldy. Hiccup is discussing the dragon classes he teaches with the twins while trying to encourage and help Ruffnut to train the scouldren. It reminded me of some moments in Race to the Edge when the twins talked about the different people who tried to instruct them over the years. (Example: The wedding axe episode, when Toughnutt failed to complete the Mariage Officiation course) I just had the thought that Hiccup is probably one the few, if not only, teacher that never gave up on them. He always valued the twins and all the riders for their unique qualities. Hiccup is a wonderful person and a great leader.
