* DEFINITELY had no friends maybe a few people he talked to but no one he can really say was his friend

* He wasn’t upset by that tho bc he thought they were all imbeciles

* Would have to be dragged out of the car by one of his parents when they would drop him off at school

* Faked sick a lot because he hated going to school

* Hid in the bathroom during recess until the teachers starting catching on

* When he would go outside for recess he would sit alone in the corner or play with his rubiks cube to make time pass by 😭😭😭😭

*Going up to other kids and asking them to play with him but they would all run away from him

* MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCES WERE THE WORST FOR HIM....like the worst

* However, Kai would still go and dress up in something sort of fancy n cute but would still have the worst time

* He once tried asking his crush to dance with him but she harshly rejected him hence the reason he’s a misogynist

* He was the try hard. Always participating in class to the point that whenever he would speak the whole class would groan LOLL

* Would threaten the teacher whenever he would get a grade lower than an A minus

* Almost got suspended for that^

* Was more than relieved and happy that he actually survived his middle school years

* And for high school Kai well...maybe things were better for him bc HE GOT HOT LMAOOO 😭😔❤️✋🏻

It was 9:45 in the morning, your first period class had just been dismissed. The class was English and although you disliked school, this class was probably your favourite by far. It wasn’t because you enjoyed writing long pointless essays or reading some stupid Shakespeare play, but it was simply because he was in your class.

Kai Anderson was an enigma to you. A puzzle and one you wanted to solve. He was always the last to arrive in class, but the first to leave. Needless to say, you couldn’t help but stare him down every time he arrived late, your eyes following his every move until he slumped into his desk. Sometimes you could even see his eyes roll as your teacher would scold him for his poor attendance.

Kai usually sat in the back of the class, almost as if he wanted to be unnoticed, but that was never the case for you. He could sit anywhere in the class and to you he would always stand out. His head would usually be down during lessons and if he did speak during class, it would only be to debate against the teacher if something political had been brought up in a discussion.

Asides from that, he would typically pass during readings and never really cared to share his answers during homework takeup. You could only hope that he paid attention towards you. It was almost embarrassing to admit that you only participated just to grasp his recognition. Whether it be sharing your opinion on a certain topic or just reading out loud, you desperately hoped he would raise his head from his desk and have his full attention on you.

You grabbed your pink duffel bag that was placed on the floor underneath your seat, swinging it over your shoulder as you made your way outside of the classroom. However, instead of following your regular routine of making it straight to your second period class, you had other plans.

“Hey,” you called out to the boy who walked in front of you. Instead of turning around like he should have, he kept walking. Was he ignoring you?

“Kai,” you said loud and stern to the point that the other students around you stopped to take a solid glance at you.

He stopped his tracks and turned around, letting out a sigh to signal you he really wasn’t interested.

“Can I help you,” he asked you, raising his brows.

You stood there, staring at him, almost forgetting that you were the one who started this awkward encounter.

Almost blanking out, you slowly answered, “hey.”

Hey? Seriously was that all you could come up with?

“Uh...hi,” he responded, still unsure as to what you needed to talk to him about.

The two of you respectively kept your distance from each other as the hallway was still cramped with other students making their way to class, but the sight of you two together did draw some attention from those passing by. It wasn’t that you were an extremely popular person, it was just that you were well liked among your peers and other people you came across. You always had someone to chat with in class and it was rare that you would be seen alone.

Whereas Kai was the complete opposite. While you would be chatting away with your friends at a cafeteria table, Kai would be found sitting alone with nothing more than a book in his hand and maybe something to eat. He seemed so simple and that’s what you liked about him. Besides from his good looks of course.

He didn’t strike you to be one of those guys who would wake up every morning and take twenty minutes to perfect their hair in hopes of scoring the chance to impress someone, but maybe you were wrong. It wasn’t like you knew him personally.

The only thing you did know and could confirm, was that he had a younger sister. Winter was her name and she was a freshman, while the two of you were seniors. She didn’t look much like Kai at all, her brown locks being the only resemblance that the two had in common. You met Winter when she joined your school's legacy club. You had got to know a little bit of her when the two of you held a campaign at the beginning of the year for more club recruits. During the time that the two of you would be planning to perfect the event is when she would tell you a little bit about herself. One of the things being that she had an older brother your age, that older brother being none other than Kai Anderson.

Unlike her brother, she was more forward with her opinions and made sure to speak up when she felt the need to. That being said, she was still shy, but it didn’t bring down her other redeeming qualities. You had hoped that during your campaign maybe her brother would attend at least one of your recruitments to show some loving support for his sister, but he never did. Maybe they didn’t get along or maybe he just didn’t care about it.

“Hello...?” his eager voice snapped you back into reality, only this time the two of you were the last two people to be seen in the hallway.

Shit, how long were you there just thinking about past events that were unrelated to what was happening now?

“Look,” he continued, “I don’t wanna be late to my class, so if you don’t mind, I’m gonna go.” You could tell by the frustration in his voice that he was annoyed with you for bothering him. Just as he was going to continue on his way, your voice was quick to stop him from leaving you.

“Wait....sorry I......I blanked out,” you blushed, hoping he wouldn’t notice how flustered your face was beginning to turn.

You just couldn’t help it, his features and overall appearance made him so damn attractive. The closer he got to you, the more you noticed things you couldn’t see before, like how he had a piercing on his left ear, the small dimples that formed when his mouth would move a certain way, or the tiny amount of facial hair he had just above his top lip.

“Are you okay,” he spoke, this time with a bit of concern that could be heard in his voice.

You could feel the butterflies in your stomach fluttering around as he shifted closer to you. It was as if he was examining you, making sure you weren’t going to pass out.

“I’m fine,” you stammered, shaking your head as you pushed yourself to purse what you’ve been desperately needing to tell him, “look, you really wanna know the real reason why I’m bothering you?”

“I mean, y/n, you’re the one who stopped me,” he joked, a small smile escaping from his lips as he lightened the conversation.

Your heart nearly melted at the way he said your name. The way it casually rolled off his tongue into the flow of his sentence, sounding just perfect. He knew your name after all, maybe he did pay attention to you.

“Kai, I like you,” you straight up admitted to him, not even thinking about what you said until seconds after. “And god I don’t know why I just said that.”

However, he didn’t run away or tell you to stop. Instead, you saw him laughing, his face practically glowing. He had to admit, it was pretty cute to see you all nervous around him, but it was even better that your nerves had caused you to confess your internal feelings for him.

“Well....,” you tried to say more, but you really couldn’t dig yourself out of this. You couldn’t even look him straight in the eyes, so instead your eyes scanned down to his chest, looking at what you could make out to be a Weezer shirt that was covered by his jean jacket.

“I know you like me, it’s obvious.”

“Is it really,” you shamefully looked back to him, this time viewing his smirk that was spread across his face.

“I see you practically staring at me for almost every class we’ve had so far,” he replied, softly chuckling while he shook his head. “You know, at least I don’t make it obvious when I look at you.”

You wanted to die from the embarrassment that came from Kai Anderson informing you that he knew about your staring habits. Yet, it was that last sentence he stated that brought your face out of your palms and back to him.

“I like you too, y/n,” he confessed as he rubbed his hands together, something he did out of habit when he was in unfamiliar situations.

If you could, you would’ve ran up to his angelic face and made out with him like there was no tomorrow. As much as you hated to fight off the urge to do just so, you had to be reasonable and considering the two of you just confessed your feelings to each other in the middle of your high school hallway on a Tuesday morning, you had long ways to go together.

“So uh...what now,” you asked him, trying your best to remain calm.

“I’m gonna go to my second period class, which I’m fifteen minutes late to. Thanks by the way,” he was clearly joking with his blatant sarcasm, yet it was endearing to hear him speak to you in a way that made you feel like you’ve known him forever. “But does eight tonight sound good?”

You couldn’t stop yourself from smiling as hard as you did in that very moment.

“But wait won’t you be needing this,” you reached into the open pocket of your school bag, grabbing a small sticky note that had the digits of your phone number. You had written on that sticky note during class, thinking too far ahead of what might happen when you planned to talk to Kai today. Luckily for you, the odds were on your side and that little sticky would be needed. Or so you thought.

“Oh no,” Kai began, “I won’t be needing that,” he grinned.

Your eyes were immediately fixated back to the note that was still held in your hands as you crumpled it into a small ball. Before you could question his last words as to why he wouldn’t be needing your number, Kai was already on his way to making a left turn at the end of the hallway. Looking over his shoulder, he tossed you one last smile before disappearing. He really was a mystery.
