There shall be a great cry in all of Egypt, such as never has been or ever will be again.
THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (1998)
The coats that the Southern Water Tribe wears are commonly known in English as parkas. A parka is a a cold-weather coat that is typically hip-length or longer, stuffed with down, and possessing a fur-lined hood. Parkas are traditionally worn by various Arctic peoples, such as the Inuit/Iñupiat and Yupâik.
The parkas that Katara and Sokka wear appear to based on traditional Yupâik and Iñupiat coats, respectively. Note the similar silhouettes, the distinctive fur lining on the sleeve seams, the curved hems with side slits for the legs, and the fur lining around the waist of Kataraâs jacket.
The parka that Gran-Gran wears appears to be based off an Akulik Amauti, a baby-carrying coat worn by the Inuit women of Nunavut. Note the extra baggy hood, the straps over the chest, and the straight hem at the bottom of the jacket. Itâs an appropriate jacket for a woman who helped raise two generations of children.
Mike and Bryan have also confirmed that the overall aesthetic of the Southern Water Tribe is based off the Inuit film âAtanarjuat: The Fast Runnerâ (2001), which is steeped in the culture of Nunavut Inuit.
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO REED THIS SHIT!!!đ„đ„đđ
NOW!!!
Aloy enters the Hades Proving Lab, Lis following along via Focus connection. A copy of GAIA lies withinâŠand so does an encounter with some very familiar facesâŠ
It is not long before Aloy picks herself up and reenters the bunker, preparing to finally go retrieve the GAIA kernel buried within. She enters the ruin in silence, Elisabet still on the line with her, waiting, waiting. She explodes the Firegleam off the gene-locked hatch, and canât help but smile a little when Elisabet exclaims in surprise.
âDid you know that was going to happen?â the other woman asks, shocked.
âHad a pretty good idea,â Aloy responds, letting her amusement color her voice a little. âWhat, donât like a good explosion?â
âPyromaniac,â Elisabet mutters. âSomewhere, my mother is laughing at me and telling me we get the children we deserve.â
I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!
(save the images to zoom in on the pics)
I made the mistake of reading the transcripts of the directorâs commentary on the episodes of ATLA, and some things really stood out:
1. Itâs astonishing how thereâs zero commentary on any of Azulaâs softer moments. They actively shy away from talking about any of them.
2. Azula is âcrazyâ because sheâs manipulative and has âan over the top personalityâ?
3. Bryke seem to have no knowledge or understanding Azulaâs backstory, and in fact the idea of Azula having a backstory doesnât really seem to cross their minds.
4. Iâve increasingly convinced that no one on the writing team was attempting to write Azula with a tenth of the complexity she ended up having.
Welcome to the ATLA fandom, as you can can see we are still arguing about fictional characters from an animated children's show that came out 17 years ago
Isn't it a war crime to be this sexy??
Favorite villainess azula .
Something I have seen very few people mention re: Omicron and the current surge:
Please, be cautious. Not just about the virus but about life in general.
Babes, now is not the time to get on the rickety ladder to change that light bulb or tackle that woodworking project using the bandsaw.
Let it freaking go.
Clinics and hospitals are overrun. You don't want to need urgent or emergent care right now, my loves. You may not get it. Please be unreasonably cautious around your homes.
Please reblog this, just to remind everyone that any source of medical risk is also now a COVID risk.
azula + prompt number 48 for anonymous
pairing: azula x reader
warnings: nightmares, soft!azula
prompt: âwhat are you doing in my bed?â
fandom: avatar the last airbender
When Azula first woke up she expected it to be like any morning. However when she rolled over in her ginormous bed, she was surprised to find that she wasnât alone. Startled, Azula grabbed a pillow and tossed it at your face, successfully waking you up.
âWhat are you doing in my bed?â Azula demands, narrowing her eyes before a flame appears in the palm of one of her hands.
Reasonable startled, you nearly tumble out of Azulaâs bed at the threatening sight. What has gotten into her? Had she really forgotten what happened the night before?! âWoah, you asked me to be here with you. You had a bad dream last night and you wanted me to stay with you!â You remind her.
A rare thing happens then, Azulaâs cheeks turn red but not with anger. No, sheâs blushing! âI-I donât have nightmares!â Azula insists, crossing her arms over her chest. âDonât be ridiculousâ.
You stare at her for a moment before sighing. Itâs clear she isnât going to set you on fire anymore but it seems like your invitation to be there has expired. So you climb out of Azulaâs bed and head toward the exit of her room. âAlright then, Iâll go-â.
To your slight surprise Azula rushes out of you and tugs you by the hand back toward her bed. âWait- uh⊠I suppose you can stay and do my hair for me. Since youâre already hereâ the princess mumbled, trying her best to not come off as flustered.
Pausing you consider this for a second before shrugging. âOkay, sure. Why notâ.

Does it still work if I pick and choose what part of Lok and the comics I include in my fan fiction??
Did you know that if you ignore lok and the comics, your fanfic, fanart, fandom interactions, and real life will improve immensely?
And the comics aren't political
