EMERGENCY REQUEST - COMFORTING S/O AFTER A LOSS OF A PARENT

-> Needless to say, he knows. He understands.

Sanji wants to create a safe space for you. Space where you decide what brings you comfort, and where you immediately receive it from him. He doesn’t impose anything on you, doesn’t pressure you to talk or to cry. He just is with you, body and thoughts alike.

-> If you need silence, he sits with you, no word spoken, just holding your hand or playing with your hair while cradling you to his chest. If you need to cry, he offers you his shoulder, kisses away your tears and pulls you closer. If you need his warmth, he guides you to rest your head right over his heart, to listen to its calm heartbeat.

-> Doesn’t matter what kind of coping method you chose, Sanji adjusts his rhythm to you and keeps you company. Even if you prefer being alone, he makes sure to keep a watch over you while giving you suitable space. Just in case you would need his assistance or did something unhealthy or dangerous for yourself.

-> He makes sure you don’t succumb into apathy. He nudges you to take care of personal hygiene, to eat and drink, to do your daily activities—at least a few of them. He keeps stimulating you to take action, even if it’s just moving to take a shower and back or solving a crossword.

-> If you want to talk, he listens, doesn’t interrupt you, just lets you pour out the words. If you want a dialogue, he is ready to ask questions about all happy memories you have about your parent. He doesn’t want to add his own trauma to this, but if you ask him questions about his mother, he will answer—in other circumstances he would be hesitant.

-> “Let me take care of you, Y/N. It’s okay to be broken, to cry. I’m here for you, don’t hesitate to call me.”

-> If you agree to this, he will cook you all the comfort food you remember from childhood, especially if your late parent used to cook for you.

Ace is a sweet and endearing guy with tons of charm and natural charisma, no wonder he emanates the perfect boyfriend aura, much like a magnet for people of all genders. But in reality…if there was a ranking of messy men, some sort of competition for the title of a pig of the year, Ace definitely would be among the front-runners.

He sleeps face down where he falls, wipes face clean with the closest thing he has within reach, grew up in a jungle among bandits and for a good part of his life he saw soap only when Dadan gave him a choice between a bath and sleeping in a pig pen. 

He’s feral, okay? Bit civilized thanks to Dadan, Makino and Whitebeard—but still feral. 

He tries to keep standards though. You’re the lady—or so his crewmates say, quickly beating into him what Makino didn’t manage to. If he wants to introduce you to Pops as his girlfriend and keep you on board, he needs to behave properly. So he does. Accidentally giving you a feeling certain…bodily reactions aren’t welcomed around him.

But even if he was more relaxed, it’d still be so awkward that your booty betrayed you in such an intimate moment as cuddling, as you two are sprawled cozy in his bed, slowly dozing off as Ace’s hand wanders along the crevices of your body when he’s embracing you from behind. It’s so silent and peaceful, you’re relaxed and half-awake, so maybe that’s why it has slipped… 

Every cell of your body burns in embarrassment and you tense, expecting him jumping away, making a mean comment or, in general, getting grossed out at demonstration of capabilities of your gastrointestinal system. 

Instead, you hear a chuckle. And then open laugh, loud and shaking the whole bed. Face in the crook of your neck, Ace is almost rolling, spasms of his chest hitting your back and loud howls nearly hurting your ears.

“Thatch’s bean stew is truly something, eh?” He finally chokes out, eyes full of tears. “Damn, baby girl, you’ve almost blown me away…”

You’re still cringing in embarrassment despite his jokes, but he seems to not care at all as he rolls on back, relaxed as if nothing has happened and wiping the tears of laughter off. 

“Damn, we’re finally past that step, no more sneaking out” he muses, pulling you back to him and sighing contently before answering your little mishap in the same, even louder way. “Phew, that was a nice one. Glad I didn't have to hold it all night.”

Yeah, competition for the title of a pig of the year.
