Plagg’s character gets a lot of different takes.  The first time we meet him, he’s trashing Adrien’s room.  He can come off as lazy, entitled, bit of a jerk.  He can also seem very caring at times.

But consider the power that the Miraculous gives over the Kwami. Look at how Gabriel treats Nooroo.  Consider that, if someone of ill intent were to seek a Miraculous, the Black Cat is the one they would go after.

What if Plagg’s manners are a coping mechanism?  What if this is his response to past abuse?

His defense claimed that since the toxicologic test she took didn't show any substances she was able to consent (we all believe that he forged the results since he's a rich and influent man) and even with proofs like her dress dirty of blood and sperm the judge said he's innocent since it was an "unintentional rape". Those are some of the things she had to hear during the trial:
