Here's A Little Preview Of A New Assignment I'm Working On, Which Is Very Vague, But I'm Having Fun With

Here's a little preview of a new assignment I'm working on, which is very vague, but I'm having fun with it, and will hopefully be able to show you the final product soon.  Pulling together some reference for this one, I discovered that the white ermine moth might be one of the prettiest insects I've ever seen.

The Magician

The Magician

Meanings: influence, awareness, ability, creative power, confidence, determination, a beginning, ego, desire to dominate, inspiration, focus, taking action, charm.

This is my piece for Light Grey Art Lab's upcoming show, Tarot, Mystics, and the Occult. I pulled The Magician, the card which starts The Fool's journey, which was awesome and intimidating! There are a ton of great artists taking part in the show, and everyone's piece will be compiled into an actual Tarot deck, which you can pre-order here!

Here's a question: can you guess which fantastically low-budget 1960s horror (?) film The Magician's cloak is an homage to?

video game fan art day

Video Game Fan Art Day

Yesterday Jimmy Giegerich and I decided to make "video game fan art day" happen, and these are some of the quick little drawings that resulted on my part.  Here are Frog from Chrono Trigger (always in my team) including a little one of him croaking, Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and of course: Solid Snake. Check out Jimmy's great Ganondorf and also Sam Bosma's rad Chrono!

Reblogging my own post because GOBLIN. THE GOBLIN. IS IN BALTIMORE. TOnight. And I'm gonna see them and wear my own dumb shirt and it's gonna be the strangest, most rad time, and everyone? go ahead. be jealous.

"Suzy, Do You Know Anything About…witches?"

"Suzy, do you know anything about…witches?"

Suspiria, a masterpiece by Dario Argento. This trippy, amazingly surreal horror film is the subject of my newest tshirt design for Pizza Party Printing's upcoming movie night at the Ottobar. They'll be showing not only Suspiria, but the 1989 horror, The Church (paired with a fucking metal shirt by Jimmy Giegerich), so if you’re in Baltimore at the end of the month, be there! Immerse yourself in blood and beer (and the music of the one, the only Goblin). It’s gonna be spooky.

The Suspiria shirt is up for sale now at Pizza Party! Pick one up while you can!

Damn Fine Coffee! A Twin Peaks Fan Zine - Kickstarter!

Hey all! My Twin Peaks-themed anthology zine "Damn Fine Coffee!" just launched its funding project on Kickstarter! This is your chance to place pre-orders on the zine and also to snatch up screen prints, original drawings, AND paintings of Twin Peaks characters. If you're excited about the book, I hope you can contribute and help make it happen, or just take a minute to spread the word! Every little bit helps and I'm super thankful for whatever you can do or give. Seriously.

You can read more about the zine and see a few fantastic pieces by some of its fantastic contributors here.

Visit the Kickstarter project and claim a copy of the zine (which has free shipping for a limited time!) right here!

After all, in the words of Agent Cooper himself:

So.

So.

Been awhile! I am still alive. Long story short, there have been a great deal of changes in my life. Some excellent, others requiring adaptation. I am a full-time freelancer now and I’m loving it. Illustration, design, and lettering are still my life blood. Expect more soon!

love,

Andrea

Illustration For Nautilus On The Migration Of Waldrapp Ibises. This Was For Their 3rd Issue, In Transit,

Illustration for Nautilus on the migration of Waldrapp ibises. This was for their 3rd issue, In Transit, though it was pulled from their online issue at the last minute. It'll be appearing in a second print run of "In Transit" however, so that's less of a shame. It was great to work with Len Small, and if you haven't checked out Nautilus yet, go do that!

Waldrapp ibises are so ugly ♡
