Call it an off day, hell, an off week.
There's been a handful of new-ish to new tracks I've been wanting to get stoked on enough to post here, but I'm at a loss.
I'm absolutely broke (yet fabulous!) so no outstanding events this weekend to report on. To top it off, the weather sucks. You know, in that way only a Bay Area summer can suck it up, where you wonder, "this is what it must be like living in Seattle year-round."
It's cool, we're still in California folks (well, at least us fortunate ones), so there's that.
Here's an ode to the feeling, to the near rarity, of a warm San Francisco night.
From Mike Ballard's Skatebook. Ballard is currently being sued by 20th Century Fox over intellectual property use.
Bought this record today and the artwork and packaging is on point.
Album Art: Wild Nothing, Nocturne
You know when you've been listening to a highly agreeable song for a while, and one day it hits you like a ton a bricks? And you're like, it's so obvious.
Oh Arcade Fire. They deserve every accolade for The Suburbs. The record can mean exactly what you want it to, for anyone, from here to Montreal. It's that good. You just have to listen.
This song is yours and mine.
John Hughes ‘The Reckless Club’ Project by Butcher Billy
ha. pretty dope.
It just dawned on me that the XX are working on their sophomore record as we speak and it's easily the most anticipated release in stereo-land. You can visit their blog and start counting down the days(hello summer 2012), while listening to their inspirations - which include Cocteau Twins and The Streets' classic "Blinded by the Lights."
Meanwhile streaming here is the Flufftronix dub bootleg of "Infinity" that had me digging dubstep for nearly three whole months.
